  • Its time for some major front end upgrades on my Jeep Gladiator! I am installing a full aluminum steering setup, as well as front hydraulic bumpstops.
    2.5 Ton Aluminum Steering Setup: www.rpmsteering.com/ 10% off code: JKGG
    In my last video, i installed the Apex Steering boost kit which was an amazing upgrade. I can finally turn with ease, and the steering system isnt over worked. However, that added strength can be a downfall when its time to go offroad. The factory steering setup isnt ideal. Plus, i already have a failed joint on the drag link. So it was time for an upgrade! I went with the RPM steering JT aluminum kit, which in my opinion is one of the best on the market. Aluminum has a ton of great benefits in a steering setup.
    Hydraulic Bumpstops: lockedoffroad.com/2-0-bump-st... Discount Code: Jkbumps
    I have been running hydraulic bumpstops on my JKU for about 2 years, and they are amazing. The install isnt too difficult, and the end result is well worth it. The Gladiator Mojave comes standard with hydraulic bumpstops, and lots of people love having that option. Well now, you can simply add them to your Jeep Wrangler or Gladiator of any trim level.
    PAIR OF 2.0 BUMP STOPS with 2" and 4" travel options
    Fully re-buildable, Adjustable oil volume and nitrogen pressure, includes mounting sleeves
    2 sets of locking rings per bump stop
    TECHNICAL SPECS:
    2.0” diameter body, 2" stroke has an extended length of 11.75" and a collapsed length of 9.75"
    4" stroke has an extended length of 14.75" and a collapsed length of 10.75"
    Large 1.26” diameter shafts are hard-chromed, preventing rusting and essentially creating a self-cleaning system. Shafts are polished to a mirror-like finish, ensuring extended seal life.
    Shraeder cap mounts directly to the body of the bump stop, not the valve, creating a stronger seal, keeping everything clean and dry by keeping out dirt and moisture.
    O-ring on shaft gauges your travel.Delrin contact pad is mounted with a single flushmount design, protecting your suspension and insuring quiet operation, with no metal on metal contact.
    2.5 Ton Aluminum Steering Setup: www.rpmsteering.com/ 10% off code: JKGG
    Massive 2'' solid 7075 T6 aluminum link with hexed ends for easy adjustments
    1.25" forged American made TREs
    No drilling required
    Anti-flop ends (included)
    Serrated Belleville washers (included)
    Tie rod and drag link included in the kit
    PLEASE NOTE:
    Tie rod is a direct bolt-on for stock JL/JT axles.
    Select stock location for up to 4" lift.
    For lifts higher than 4.5", we recommend a flip kit.
    Both of these are great offroad upgrades for any Jeep Wrangler or Gladiator. Im looking forward to testing these out offroad in an upcoming video. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

    Hey Ben! I have a remedy for your mosquitos.. I live in the swamps if SETX, and this works great, and at the beach cabin as well. You will need to reapply often with rainy months (now)
    Mosquito spray Ingredients
    3 can(s) cheap flat beer, open the cans the day before mixing
    3 cups epsom salts
    1 large bottle of large blue mouthwash (listerine)
    Directions
    1. Gather ingredients and 1 gallon sprayer.
    2. Mix ingredients in the sprayer and shake.
    3. Spray on bushes, deck, porch, patio, grass....any where you want to sit outside, around the fire pit, camping, kids playground.
    🤘🏼

    "Aluminium bends then goes back to its original shape?" No, it does not! When metal is exposed to plastic deformation or permanently bent, good luck getting It back to the original shape. There are shape memory alloys though. That's combining a base metal with other metals.

    • @JKGearandGadgets
      @JKGearandGadgets  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Feel free to watch my other aluminum steering videos where I jacked up the jeep from the tie rod. Watch it bend, watch it go back.

      @whywoulditellyoumyrealname4598 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think Ben is referring to elastic deformation. 7075 T6 (aluminum spec according to RPM steering website) has a higher tensile/yield strength than the steel pipe (assuming astm A500 gr C), but the steel's modulus of elasticity is more than double the aluminum. Also, the aluminum is a solid bar as opposed to tube steel. There's more material for the load to be dispersed through making the aluminum stronger

    When you're separating your drag link or tie rod, if you take two hammers and knock them against the drag link/pitman arm opposite of each other (180°) and they'll drop without a pickle fork. Leave the nut on the threads of the tie rod end so it doesn't drop. I don't think it will help with skeeters tho.

    Hmm I have to call ypou out on the bending steel stays bent, think springs and aluminum is a metal that easily gets fatigued. It's all about the quality and makeup of the steel and aluminum. If what you were saying then we would use aluminum for springs/we can not. Liking your build and I do like those. I have been called out. I looked elsewhere for the specs instead of right on the mfg home page. Leaving post for laughter for all

    • @JKGearandGadgets
      @JKGearandGadgets  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, however steel steering isn’t made up of spring steel, and pretty much all aluminum steering is 7075. Steel tie rods will bend when you hit them when wheeling (or aftermarket will take a huge impact and transfer load to the knuckles), and aluminum soaks up the bends with ease (on the way home from wheeling now and probably hit the tie rod about 3 times today lol). Thanks for watching!
