My wife loves pitas and asked me to make her some last night. So I went to TH-cam. When I heard you say your wife was your best friend, I looked no further. Thanks again, Max!❤️
Just finished making these and I must say, this is the one! I’ve tried several different recipes, but I could tell, (when I was working out my muscles by hand kneading) that the dry/wet ratio was perfect. Thanks so much for posting this recipe. Signed, A very happy Texan!!
Wow !! Love the way you compare pita bread to human behaviour to “leave them alone and it will be nice to you “.... absolutely clear in your instructions... I’m trying out right away today ... big thank you for the detailed explanation 💪
Best recipe I've ever made of pocket pita! I tried multiple recipes and this is by far the most accurate, fluffy, and tasty one! Thank you very much 🙏🏼
This is the best one more daily, conventional for home and kitchen. No more complicates for everyday. Shall good for a housewife. Some receipt looks perfect but can't do that, burn a day just one dough. This one is good and his English is excellent.
Hi!! I made it, and it was PERFECT! My family doesn't want me to buy pita bread ever again. Thank you so much for sharing it. Greetings from México 🇲🇽!
i have just tried this trick with the oven and the upside down baking pan and it works just fine. 4-5 minutes of baking and all done. i put some butter or oil with spices right out of the oven so the upper thin layer stays soft longer, and i also add a bit of pepper and red pepper in the dough to add some flavor. cool recipe!!
My husband is Israeli and has watched and learned from Max's videos in Hebrew for a long time. He translated the pita instructions from the Hebrew language TH-cam for me, we made them and couldn't believe how good they were--the best pita we've had outside of Israel. I was delighted to find this video in English so I could share with friends in the U.S. One difference between the English and Hebrew language videos is the size of them - the Hebrew version recommends 150g and this one says 200g. We prefer the 150g size. Thank you!
Outstanding. I've been using the gridle and direct flame to fluff them up Indian style. Shall try the oven next time. Thanks Max. Loved the simplicity of your video
Israeli pita recipe & Uzbek music - that`s why music & food have always been the best ambasadors of peace. Thanks for your recipe - the dash of baking powder does provide aditional fluffiness!
Today I am trying to make Sabich at home, with the pita based on your recipe. Can't wait for the results :)) and thank you so much for putting in grams! I always had hard times with the american measures :D
Im so excited that I found your video!! Ive been making bread and using my mothers recipe that she shared with me may years ago and this is the first one that uses the exact same ingredients! Everything is pretty much done the same way with the exception of resting times. I let the dough raise for the 2 hrs but this is where I think I like your way better ! (sorry Mum!) After I roll into balls she had the resting time (covered again) 1hr 45 minutes (sometimes 2 hrs), then after rolling with the rolling pin, cover and raise for another 2 hrs.. Needless to say your way is soo much quicker! (however when my kids were younger and I needed to pick them up from school, or run errands, I had time in between raising time! So, today I am waiting for the first raising and will try it your way. Wish me luck.. Also, when I look up recipes for Syrian bread (which is what my mother is) they only have the flat pita which she never made! Thanks so much for sharing!
😂 😂Thanks for writing everything in “oz, lbs, George Washington and declaration of independence”.👌🏼 Love that kinda sense of humor. I rarely ever subscribe to anything, but this is a must.
Thanks for sharing this recipe. I have already made it so many times, with different types and combinations of flours, and it works like a charm every time.
This is wonderful! At almost 60 years old, I am discovering a love of cooking. I can’t wait try to make your pita bread. It looks delicious! Thank you for sharing your recipe!
Looks like a good recipe which I’ll try soon. Love how you use your hands instead of machines. Hands and bread are meant for each other. Using the hands lets you get the feel of when the dough is right.
Max, great recipe and good technique. Will diffenitly try it. I hope that one day we will have peace in this part of the world and will share the tremendous amount that we have in common. Good bless.
I just love Arabic food, been in the middle east (Oman) for a couple of years. Miss the food we had there esp the shawarma, hummuns, the sweets etc etc. Please give us some more Arabic recipes, love your sense of humor hilarious.
israeli food is not arabic food. this is israeli's stealing arabic food and culture and claiming it for their own. it's like how white christians in the US stole jazz and blues from the african american community.
Hey Max! Used your recipe yesterday and made some Sabich to break my fast. It was delicious and exactly how i love my Pita! Thanks a lot for the video :)
Love your Hebrew videos, I'll be following your English ones too.. Your pitas look great but my problem is that they don't split evenly inside and I noticed that yours didn't either, do you know how to solve that ?
Tried this out for dinner tonight worked out amazingly. They were delicious. My only question is if you decided to do Half the mix would you then also only add half the yeast and half the baking powder?
this result gives a very thick bottom and very thin crusty top. i prefer a more balanced pita, no sugar, no baking powder. i use 72% hydration, only a tiny pinch of yeast and long, cool fermentation (12-16hrs depending on temp). in a home oven it's better to use a heavy steel or baking stone. thumbs up for doing your own thing
I grew up eating pita bread. Little did i know that God's people made it. Something I enjoy so much, and has such a true meaning behind it! I thank whoever first invented it. Yummy stuff!!
@@CDRNY25 Indians make it the same way fron dough to making Pitas. Except we dont add Yeast or baking powder in normal daily pita bread and Indian style is way thinner than Israeli Pita. I am from Canada but we do have Middle eastern restraunts and i love their pitas 😍
