What if i use rapid rise yeast? I have active dry yeast but rapid rise yeast doesnt need sugar Trying to figure out which would be better Helpppp 😁
Please use whichever is easier for you. It's not important.
@@maxmalkiel7833 Sorry Sir, normal flour its the one without strenght?
You can use any flour for this recipe .

That very statement sold me on this as well! love it 😂
My wife loves pitas and asked me to make her some last night. So I went to TH-cam. When I heard you say your wife was your best friend, I looked no further. Thanks again, Max!❤️

But
That is arabic bread
I am a professional chef. Today I made this recepe at work and it is good. This is the real deal. I kept this recepe in my personal file.
Just finished making these and I must say, this is the one! I’ve tried several different recipes, but I could tell, (when I was working out my muscles by hand kneading) that the dry/wet ratio was perfect. Thanks so much for posting this recipe. Signed, A very happy Texan!!
Since when Arabiic bread becomes Arabic Israeli? Surprise
Arabic bread is Arabic bread maybe will become Arabic British or European??
U stole Palestine and call it Israeli then u stole the Arabian bread and call it Israeli 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
Israelis say you stole it from them. I don't participate in your guys discussions and fights. Good luck!

there's no such thing as Israeli Pita bread. At best, it's Levantine bread.
Then there's no me either. You must be talking to yourself
Just made a double batch of these for gyros, they turned out amazing. Thank you for a great videos.
Israeli hummus ??? Israeli baba ganouch??? Israeli pita??? Since when ???
Hummus since the Bible (mentioned in Ruth), baba ghanuj I'm not sure because badinjan is an Indian word and I don't know when aubergines arrived in the region. Pita and the types of ovens it's made in is described in detail in the Mishnah numerous times.
But that's not the point. The point is the more you guys write these comments the more money I make from this video.
And this is how the whole middle east "conflict" works. You throw bombs and stones and Israel becomes richer.
VERY NICE LOVED IT ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT THE WAY YOU MADE EVERYTHING IS SO SIMPLE THANKS
since when pita bread is israeli ? it's purely Arabic bread , or is israel an Arab country now ???
Thank you for your question! Pita bread is mentioned in the Bible (for example Ruth 2:14 "wa tabalt pittek bhomes" - "dip yo ur pitta bread in vinegar". Also in the Mishnah pitta bread and types of ovens used to bake it are discussed numerous times. Not that it is of any importance for me, but since you asked: pitta bread is Israeli since at least 2500 years ago. Today the majority of Israelis are ethnic Arabs (both Jewish and if other religions: Durz, Muslim, Christian). Arabic is one of the two official languages. So you can say yes, it is an Arabic country

Palestinian Pita is the best!
I like the arabic food especially the pita bread my favorite with falafel 🧆
That ain't israeli bro.
It was the easiest recipe, many other youtubers talk 1 hour bullshit when it could be enough with 5 minutes... Can you make more videos soon ? mercy aziz
Indeed. From my experience most breads around the world are the same basic dough: flour water sugar salt and yeast with the average relative amounts and temperatures. What differs is the process of kneeding , resting and baking( sometimes) and how the dough is formed into its final shapes and decorations.
@@turquoiseheart6320 You forgot to say the most important thing: the water content. If it is a soft dough or a firm dough. To puff up, the dough needs to be soft.
Apple corrected my atrocious grammar apparently 🤦🏽♂️Here for # round 2 ...I enjoyed your excellent video a few years ago...also I called you cheffy and thank you apple for taking it up yourself to change that to cheffing 🤦🏽♂️

Hi!! I made it, and it was PERFECT! My family doesn't want me to buy pita bread ever again. Thank you so much for sharing it. Greetings from México 🇲🇽!
i have just tried this trick with the oven and the upside down baking pan and it works just fine. 4-5 minutes of baking and all done. i put some butter or oil with spices right out of the oven so the upper thin layer stays soft longer, and i also add a bit of pepper and red pepper in the dough to add some flavor. cool recipe!!
Which flour we need to use ?
You did a good job on this video, Max. Easy to follow instructions. Keep up the good work. Ray
this result gives a very thick bottom and very thin crusty top. i prefer a more balanced pita, no sugar, no baking powder. i use 72% hydration, only a tiny pinch of yeast and long, cool fermentation (12-16hrs depending on temp). in a home oven it's better to use a heavy steel or baking stone. thumbs up for doing your own thing
It's called Arabic bread & It's existed thousands of years before Israel
Today I am trying to make Sabich at home, with the pita based on your recipe. Can't wait for the results :)) and thank you so much for putting in grams! I always had hard times with the american measures :D

I just love Arabic food, been in the middle east (Oman) for a couple of years. Miss the food we had there esp the shawarma, hummuns, the sweets etc etc. Please give us some more Arabic recipes, love your sense of humor hilarious.
Some of the food is Turkish though...
israeli food is not arabic food. this is israeli's stealing arabic food and culture and claiming it for their own. it's like how white christians in the US stole jazz and blues from the african american community.
I am about to start your recipe...other than the water in the recipe 2 1/2 cups= 600 grams ?! Google wisdom. You know, I might try square pitas. Thank you.
By the way...I am getting pretty good now in making them. I use your technique: everything in the bowl. A big Thank you!
Well, your pita isn’t bad,I think I will try to make someday,I did like the music on your video
From the bag of flour, it looks like you're in Germany :) Could you please tell me where you found the aluminium mixing bowl? I can't find them anywhere here in Berlin.
Ebay 🙂
Tried this out for dinner tonight worked out amazingly. They were delicious. My only question is if you decided to do Half the mix would you then also only add half the yeast and half the baking powder?
Exactly
No such thing as Israeli pita bread. It’s an Arab recipe and if Jews are making it then they are making an Arab recipe from the Arab countries they came from. None of this food originated in Israel, it predates the country by thousands of years. Stop appropriating Palestinian or Arab culture.
Isn't that just one and the same?
Thank you for recipe, I made it. Pitas very tasty. Good luck to you and your wife!
Sugar makes the yeast work? זה לא עובד בלי סוכר?
עובד. כל פחמימה היא סוכר. פשוט סוכר זה "חומר נקי" ואתו זה עובד קל ומהר יותר. אבל בהחלט אפשר בלי סוכר.
“I’ll write the George Washington Declaration of Independence” XD as an American I loved that
Is not enough that you stole Jerusalem ? Now you want to steal the bread too 😩😩😩
Im so excited that I found your video!! Ive been making bread and using my mothers recipe that she shared with me may years ago and this is the first one that uses the exact same ingredients! Everything is pretty much done the same way with the exception of resting times. I let the dough raise for the 2 hrs but this is where I think I like your way better ! (sorry Mum!) After I roll into balls she had the resting time (covered again) 1hr 45 minutes (sometimes 2 hrs), then after rolling with the rolling pin, cover and raise for another 2 hrs.. Needless to say your way is soo much quicker! (however when my kids were younger and I needed to pick them up from school, or run errands, I had time in between raising time! So, today I am waiting for the first raising and will try it your way. Wish me luck.. Also, when I look up recipes for Syrian bread (which is what my mother is) they only have the flat pita which she never made! Thanks so much for sharing!
purim sameach vekol tuv thanks for the channel all the best
Outstanding. I've been using the gridle and direct flame to fluff them up Indian style. Shall try the oven next time. Thanks Max. Loved the simplicity of your video

This is the best one more daily, conventional for home and kitchen. No more complicates for everyday. Shall good for a housewife. Some receipt looks perfect but can't do that, burn a day just one dough. This one is good and his English is excellent.

Can we make in morning& keep it in the fridge. Advice
I’m sorry all these people are harassing you! I’ve been following this recipe from your video for years and it’s delicious
👋 can you please confirm how much water adding in ml or cups
Thanks
300 ml of water for 500gr flour.
600 ml of water for 1kg of flour
Interesting video. I will try it! Shalom. 🇵🇦🙋♂️
2 Major mistakes
1- you did not let them rest after shaping, this increases the chances of holes when puffing in the oven
2- more important, you didn’t flip them in the oven, your oven was not evenly heated (bottom heat less than top heat) so they became lob sided. You can either flip them half way, or place them on a cast iron or pizza stones that’s been heating with the oven for 30 min or more
True. This is an old video. Today I use a pizza stone and flip them
How long do you let them rest after shaping? I follow this recipe for years and I don’t really get the holes in the middle but it’s still delicious and fast
Looks good. Hope mine turn out edible 😂
מקס היקר. אנחנו איתך, אם אתה צריך עזרה אני אשמח לעזור בכל דרך
תודה רבה 🙏🏼
I'm going to give this a try but cook in a skillet rather then oven as its uses less energy. Thanks for the recipe!
Thank you for watching. Skillet is best! I do use a skillet for pitas too.
Hi, Do you think it was this kind of bred that Jesus multiplied ? (Bible Matthew 14:17). Thanks. Second question: what kind of fish it was ?
For sure it was something similar. As for fish I guess it must have been something from the Sea of Galilee (the Kinnereth). Try to Google what is the common fish there 🙂
I would say probably the Tilapia - in hebrew Amnon or Musht (means comb in arabic, because of their tail). Its most likely since its a very popular fish in the region and you can find lots of it in the sea of Galilee and the Jordan river. If you ever come to Israel you'll probably get to eat some since its popular and not expensive.
When i was younger living in Israel our Yemenite neighbor used to make great but highly spicy Musht just to compete with my dad on who can handle more spice.
Max, great recipe and good technique. Will diffenitly try it. I hope that one day we will have peace in this part of the world and will share the tremendous amount that we have in common. Good bless.
Amen. God bless you too !

Amazing idea for iftar along with some homemade Hummus💕🥰🥰
this type of bread can be found in jordan egypt gaza most of north africa, why are you calming it as israeli?
Most of stories of Quran are found in Hebrew and Christian Bible, the Talmud and in Zoroastrian texts. Why do you claim them as "Muslim"?
@@maxmalkiel7833
What? Muslims don’t claim those stories as their own banu Israel are mentioned a lot in the quran and so are Christians
muslims believe that god gave his message to many nations in the world, one of them is the jewish nation through the line of our father Abraham, then the with time rulers/ priest corrupted the true message of god and he sent Jesus to reteach the people the true message of god, which resulted in Christianity, sadly Christians started worshipping the prophet jesus and the rulers/ priests also corrupted the religion so god sent a final prophet, Mohamed, to reteach the people about the true message of god.
Muslims basically claim that judasim/ Christianity/ islam are different names for the same religion that kept getting corrupted and purified by god
In india also we make same like it ..
@Lady Trek2space ✌
Nice stealing other countries recipes as well
This type of bread is mentioned in literature preceding the time when Levant became Arabic by many hundreds of years. Second, Israel is an Arab majority country (vast majority of Israelis are Arabs). You cannot steal from yourself
@@maxmalkiel7833 israel is an apartheid state and the majority is not arab it's jews , the migrants that entered palestine in 1948 were from Europe and they are the reason Israel was founded

My husband is Israeli and has watched and learned from Max's videos in Hebrew for a long time. He translated the pita instructions from the Hebrew language TH-cam for me, we made them and couldn't believe how good they were--the best pita we've had outside of Israel.
I was delighted to find this video in English so I could share with friends in the U.S. One difference between the English and Hebrew language videos is the size of them - the Hebrew version recommends 150g and this one says 200g. We prefer the 150g size.
Thank you!
The pocket is so thin will using less baking powder help?
Baking powder is not essential. To get an even pocket you would need a pizza stone
