      My Squier 40th Anniversary Tele must be super low budget then.

      Well, obviously Squiers are more affordable and may offer some similar models with some quality compromises, but they are "budget" in the sense that they are still about half the price of Pro models and not quite into the custom range yet for gigging musicians and hobbyists with day jobs that don't just pay minimum wage.

      ...Or they could be milking their history for nostalgia sales here, but I think there's far worse guitar lines that have been released and there's almost something for everyone here and 2 or 3 that I would consider decent upgrades for my taste and some that don't suit me at all that others will love.

      @@Highland_PaddyThey are turning into Gibson. They just fired a bunch of laborers this year while creeping the prices up every 6 months.

      @@morganghetti I'm not sure what that has to do with the premise of what is "budget" guitar. Epiphone and Squier still exist as more affordable brands.

    I've been playing guitar for over 20 years, i'm 28 now and i do session work. For years and years Fender strats and tele's (mim, mij, mia) came in and out my collection it almost became a sport. Great instruments yet i could never bond with them and find "the one". As for strat goes, i got my hands on a €300 Squier (made in indonesia) and it's my workhorse. Owning this guitar made me realise how overpriced Fenders are nowadays, especially the mexican standards and vintera ones in particular. I would never choose a Fender in that price range to make it my main axe. I'd suggest go for a Squier and do upgrades if you please. I would never swap my Squier with a Mexican Fender. Any Fender from €500 to €1300 is just money grabbing, great guitars but not for the price. Go for a Squier. Plus if you really want the recognition, people will show you more love and respect if you go on stage with an entry model guitar and play above anyone's expectations. Even guitarists will give you kuddos for it.

    Anything over €1000 is far from a budget!
    The Players were €660 three years ago, now they’re €840.
    I bought a mint used American Special Tele last June for less than a new Vintera 2!
    The return of Rosewood but it’s inconsistent in colour with lots having a mix of light streaks running through it. Not very nice.
    Are the vintage tall frets different to the original Vintera vintage frets?
    The fiesta Tele and LPB Strat are the only ones I find attractive. A “Nocaster” is a Tele without the word Telecaster on the headstock. Bit dumb really to get worked up over that.

    "Classic 70s thin C neck"? I'm not an expert but isn't the 70s known and infamous for exactly the opposite? Thick baseball bat U shape necks?

    • @waltgracevintage8620
      @waltgracevintage8620  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Hey! Well Fender varied the profiles throughout the decade, however it’s much more common to find those thin C shaped necks, specially in the early to mid 70’s which is what these guitars are mainly based on.

    Fender is overpricing their Mexican guitars. 1200 not a budget instrument. Its too bad. A Mexican Fender used to be affordable and the first "real" guitar most players got. You can buy equal or better quality from Indonesian factories for 600 dollar cheaper. They have gotten greedy.

    "Vintage on a Budget" : how is a new guitar "vintage"? I mean they try to "copy" vintage speqs but these are brand new guitars. I am an older guy and I remember when you could buy a brand new MIA Fender with that kind of money . My point is this : these are new guitars with some "old" speqs to make people buy them at this price. TBH I dont like that kind of "business" from Fender (or other companies) and I would pass on these models. Better to spend a little more money and buy a MIA model (used or new).

    • @waltgracevintage8620
      @waltgracevintage8620  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi! Just to clarify just in case it didn't translate the way we intended it, "Vintage on a budget" is a title reference play on words to the fact that this brand new series is inspired after vintage instruments, not that they're budget vintage instruments.

    • @julesdiakogiannis

      @@waltgracevintage8620 These are not what we would call as a "budget guitars" either but I understand your point. Still since most brands are trying to make more and more money every year by pretty much doing some sort of copies of older models and raising prices, we as "customers" have the right to speak our mind. And in my honest opinion if someone got the money to get any MIA model (even used) then he should . Dont get me wrong, I think that these are fine guitars but imho a bit overpriced .
