I dont know how I never came across your channel, but definitely subscribing. The transmission is a lot tougher than it gets credit for. I am very hard on mine in my 5.3 s10 because I have a spare. I haven't been able to hurt it yet other than the 3rd gear synchro being pretty crunchy.
Much appreciated man! Things have been crazy here in western North Carolina since the storm so I haven’t had time to make any new videos. Hopefully soon I can get back to it. But yeah, I feel like it will get my by for the time being. Sometimes you gotta do what you can to get by lol good to hear yours is holding up good. What clutch setup is in yours?
U have any problems shifting this setup? I 5.3 swapped my nv3500 and the soft shifting went away. Theres a wall of resistance on every shift. Using core shifter Tried 3 different 5 speeds, new clutch, cylinders, bleeding. Dremeled the dowel pin holes on tranny I think the pilot brg bore or trans mounting flange is crooked on the motor
Nice, that’s a good deal just to get you on the road. I know the 4500 are stouter but have a lower first gear. Maybe one day you and me both can upgrade to a t56 😝
@@LS10_Garage I wish we could comb8ine the durability of the 4500 with the ratios of the 3500 while I keep my eye out for a vette t56 core. If they sold vette tailshaft seperately(I have a 4x4 so I need the flange to make transfer case adapter) I'd just buy the pieces one by one. Hopefully t56s find both of us
Like you said with some restraint going thru the gears and make the shifts not violent it will last a good long time you can do burnouts with it again if your not dumping the clutch but ease into it a bit the 3500 and 4500 will take a lot of abuse the ones i had behind the 4.3s took a hella beating but yeah 4.3 but i never broke one and when i say beat on them im not joking side stepping the clutch speed shifting w out lifting my foot off the gas ever getting second gear rubber a long way too now i had a big issue w axle wrap of course they all do what have you done to alleviate that at all ??
You should be good for awhile, my 95 Silverado has a 6.0 with turbo with a nv3500,but I have yet to put slicks on it, it’s been going for 2 years now. Drives fine.
@@LS10_Garagecool deal man, maybe we can get a few ppl together go cruising sometime, I got a 97 s10 I’m waiting for the 4 cylinder to blow up , got a gen4 6.0 ima drop in it.
Thank you so much. I’m putting an L33 5.3 in my Sonoma with a NV3500 behind it and this is gonna save me a lot of guess work.
Good to hear man, I hope it helps! Good luck with your build, let me know if you have any questions along the way.

I absolutely want to go t56 in the future myself but for now I found a nv4500 in the junkyard that I picked up for 150 dollars

Awesome to hear! I don’t plan on putting any slicks on either so maybe it will hold for a while.
@@LS10_Garagegood luck with your build bro. I’m not to far from Rockingham
@@turbocoupe9212 oh nice man, not too far from me then. I’m over in Spruce Pine.

What vehicle should i get an nv3500 out of for my 02 LS S10 swap?
What vehicle did you get your nv3500 from?
It was the stock trans that came in the S10 originally.
@LS10_Garage i see! Thank you sir
