I have kind of a strange setup, but I've got one of these behind the 392 Hemi in my C10. It's making about 400whp and I've been beating on this setup since I put it together three years ago. Multiple trips to the drag strip, including running a personal best 12.4 last week with slicks. Absolutely no problems with this trans whatsoever. The factory torque rating is grossly underrated. 👍
@ReignitedAuto I'm going from an 80e i built with a high stall converter to an ar5 this winter. Truck is a twin turbo forged lq4 but mostly a street toy. You have given me some hope that this will work and hold to a little abuse!
Thats cool i put a nv 4500 in my 06 yukon i got tried of breaking 4l60 s 😅
Or you could bolt the 4.2 atlas GM motor directly to that trans.
Once you get all the busted bolts outta one…😂
Good idea
$1500 or so , so far, how much power can one of these safely take
Like 320
I just looked it up. The factory rating is 260 ft-lb (353 Nm), which is close to the ZF 6-speed used in the E46. (370 Nm / 273 ft-lb)
Allegedly its an r154 with different synchros, so 600-800hp?
