I see a Lea Bias Dress from Soften Studio for the fabric with oranges. It reminds me of the Dolce & Gabbana patterns but toned town with the simple Lea Bias Dress.🤩

The moment I saw The Flowers I went totally off piste and thought Wrap Pants! It would instantly transport the material from more Autumnal to summer evening, or beach walk. Of course you can wear them all year round by popping on a pair of leggings under them in the colder months.
The Orange print fabric could be matched with an identical orange or green of the leaves or even white in a princess seamed dress or a plain bodice to patterned skirt. X
Oh, I love the idea of swishy wrap pants in the flowers fabric - that would be gorgeous! I have plans for the orange fabric - that I am so excited about!
Ooh, that hand woven wool is amazing! I'd be terrified to cut into it thinking about all the hours it took to make.
It is terrifying to think of cutting into it - but I would so love to see it get the wear it deserves too.

Welcome back to the UK Amelia. Your Christchurch pics made me feel a bit homesick. Recently finished an Olya shirt (brilliant pattern) with fabric from the Fabric Store at the Tannery. You have made some beautiful fabric choices , can’t wait to see them made up.

Thanks for sharing your lovely fabric acquisitions and loose plans for them. I tend to buy quite a few fabrics when I travel and then have to behave myself when back at home, so it's always fun to experience some new purchases vicariously.

If you have enough you could cut squares from the bird panels and appliqué them on sweatshirts for the boys.
I think that is such a great idea - I think I will try to save one or two of the birds for them.

Whenever I go away I'm always on the hunt for fabric. You found some beautiful fabrics, especially the blue wool. It will make a lovely jacket. I have a similar fabric with the oranges that my husband bought in Florida for me last fall. I'm thinking a maxi skirt, but not sure. I look forward to seeing the garments you decide to make.
Fabric is the best souvenir I think! I am looking forward to starting working with these fabrics!

Loved seeing all your beautiful fabrics. On the NZ bird fabric for your children you mentioned you thought you'd make your daughter a dress and would buy more fabric when you went back to NZ for the boys. In the "big four" patterns there are men's bowling style shirts that are short sleeved and have a center vertical stripe on each side of front. Thought there may be enough "scrapes" to hack a boys shirt pattern to do this for the boys. They would make "cool" summer boys shirts...at least in US. Anyway beautiful fabrics. Thanks for sharing.

I do the same thing for souvenirs; but fabric and yarn😊 Do you go prepared with patterns in mind, so you can stay focused? If I don’t do this, I find myself buying too much yardage or not enough.

Thanks so much, I am glad you enjoyed the video! I did have a few patterns in mind that I wanted to make up for Spring/Summer, so that helped direct the purchases - and if I couldn't decide what to make, I tried not to buy it!
