Gosh Amelia - what a treasure trove! Loved them all.💗 When I was young, cool girls wore Mary Quant mini dresses in geometric fabrics with knee high white patent boots. Nice girls wore dresses in Liberty prints with lace collars and gathered mid-calf skirts worn with white tights , black Mary-Janes and crocheted lacy gloves. I could never make up my mind which I was. So obviously I wore both. Thanks for the memories.🦘🇦🇺
I love those memories so much! Sometimes Liberty prints give me real Laura Ashley vibes - I always love those vintage styles. Thanks so much for watching! ❤
I have looked at Liberty but never purchased any. Its beautiful. Your quilting is coming along wonderfully and I also find it relaxing. Quilting is my cleanse between sewing clothing.
I've just discovered Liberty fabrics as I'm an American and just got into sewing last year. Well, I'm addicted to it, such great quality fabric, I so love it. I'm going to visit London in the fall and plan on visiting the store which I'm sooooo excited about 😄
I loved them all but my favourite was the navy floral and the raspberry pink ones you make such beautiful things across any season stay safe and healthy
I checked out French Navy patterns per your recommendation and the Vetiver top you made! Love it - I'll get the expansion pack at some point. Thank you for your contribution to the sewing community.
I love Liberty florals so much! Liberty & Rifle Paper Co fabrics are my favourites visually and I find their quilting cottons beautiful for garments (and of course more affordable than the Liberty Lawns). I've used their Lawn once and it was such a joy to work with, but I live in Australia and it's about $60pm and I've never seen the lawn on sale anywhere, whereas I've been able to get quite a bit of quilting cotton over time on sale (which is about $35 full price), so much more reasonable. I tend to buy those fabrics occasionally and then really think about what I want to make with them, and often it'll be a pattern I've already made that I know I love, or I'll try a pattern first with a less precious fabric before using Liberty. Loved seeing your stash and those smocked dresses you made for your daughter are so beautiful!
I love Rifle Paper Co. fabrics too - they have such vibrant patterns! I usually go for tried and tested patterns with my liberty too as I like to know they will work before cutting into my precious fabric!
Beautiful fabrics Amelia! Perhaps when you have a small amount left, the Atlas top by stitchwitchpatterns or the LW Cross Back Tank would work. Can’t wait to see you bring these fabrics to life! 💖
What a beautiful video, full of Liberty gorgeousness! The dresses you’ve made for your daughter are beyond beautiful, such a talented Mama you are. Thank you for your wonderful kind words, you are so lovely. An Esme ruffled blouse would be stunning on you. Can’t wait to see you KnowMe dress too. Happy sewing wonderful lady ❤
Thank you so much. I really love sewing with these gorgeous fabrics! The KnowMe dress is next on the list - hoping to have it finished in time for the Stitch Festival.
I love Liberty prints, you make them up in such beautiful garments for both you and your daughter. I don't know if you like the Saltwater slip dress pattern but you could use the metre plus fabric to make it. If you had enough fabric you could make wider straps and add a frill to the straps to make it extra special.I don't have a pattern in mind but you could make a parka style raincoat out of the waterproof fabric. For the extra small quilting you could make it into a quilt for your daughters bed.As she becomes older you could then make it into a wall hanging for either her room or your home.
Love everything you’ve sewn with your Liberty fabric! Especially your daughter’s dresses, they’re just so so beautiful 😍 Looking forward to seeing what you’ll create with the ones you have in your stash! I’ve only sewn with 2 Liberty fabrics so far and I’ve made shirred dresses, absolutely love them! As for a raincoat, Grasser just released a waterproof hooded poncho pattern, it looks really nice!
I've made two sun dresses from tana lawns, the warm colourway of Alma and another one I'm not sure of its name. I still have a couple in my stash! They are indeed so beautiful!
I love all of your Liberty choices and the Merchant and Mills check that I almost bought many times, but I have to use what is in my stash, for a while 😉 I have the Rebecca Page Andie Anorak pattern that I am going to sew up in a beautiful floral rain proof fabric I have from Nuppu, a Finnish designer. It isn’t really an anorak, though. I am sewing the hooded jacket version and I will draft a zipper placket istead of the buttons. One of my Liberty plans is the Joli Lab Flora skirt, in the below knee version. The fabric I am using is the Liberty Bavaria (with the castles) in blue I am using another Liberty for the little ruffles. I don’t remember the name of the fabric, but it contrasts nicely. It will be a lovely whimsical skirt for summer 💮
Love the stash - that pink fabric is lush, can’t wait to see what you make. You would live there little world of fabric in Birmingham- full of liberty at 12-20pm xx
Hi Amelia - love your videos. For a waterproof pattern, I can recommend the Merchant and Mills Landgate pattern. The one thing I would change if I made it again would be to adjust the hood to a three piece, rather than a two piece hood - I think it would sit a bit better. But the long line and the drawstring waist would be ideal for cycling I reckon.
Hi Amelia, this video popped up in my side bar, I am a Liberty junkie too! Sitting here listening and I'm thinking, hang on that accent is very familiar! Greetings form Wellington. I also want to say how much that dark pink Liberty up against your face was beautiful and if you made a top out of it it would be incredible!
When you have scraps left from cutting, it’s sometimes useful to keep them for adding to a border on a quilt. The best one I did or tho one I like the most, has some small patches in the border. Bit they don’t go all the way round so I put them on opposite corners and a bit beyond. It’s very effective
I was just going to say the Pogonip and then you said it. I was thinking of quilting some of my Liberty Tana lawn and making a Pogonip. I love Liberty fabric.
All of your fabrics are beautiful! I have yet to make anything from Liberty fabric, but I do adore their prints. I especially like them in the smocked little dresses.😍😍
They are all gorgeous! I love the florals especially. I have two Liberty fabric pieces awaiting my attention. One is destined to become a dress for a summer wedding, it's "Ianthe" in the pink colourway and I adore it! The other is on a blue base with blue and purple flower (I can't remember what the design is called) and I plan to make a long-sleeved blouse out of it. I have already made a blouse from a lovely peacock feather print, which is adorable. Tana lawns are awesome! Enjoy your beautiful fabrics! 😍
I've never bought them before. I'd probably be too scared to cut into them and they'd end up in my wardrobe for years with all my other more expensive fabrics 😂😂❤
Love all your fabrics- sometimes it takes courage to cut into them. I don’t know how much you have but how about some luxury pjs for yourself? I’ve made 4 pairs of Carolyn pjs as gifts (but none yet for me!) or the Megan Nielsen Reef pjs which are also beautiful and you could use your bias binding on them. Btw I love your Vetiver top. I’ve made dresses for my granddaughter out of Tana Lawn but haven’t yet mastered your wonderful smocking! Can’t wait to see what you make … ❤ and thanks for the inspiration Xxx
Thank you Sue - some luxury PJ's are a great idea. I made some Carolyn PJ's for myself but often prefer a nightgown so I am on the lookout for a good pattern!
Hi Karen, I try to be as clear as I can, but you can also check out the description box below the video where I put links to all the patterns and fabrics that I mention in the video.
Your little girl has the most adorable wardrobe ever! I so miss the time when my girls were little and I could pick their outfits!
Thank you! She really loves the feel of the lawn I think, so it isn't too hard to persuade her into the dresses!

Amelia, your daughter has the most glorious wardrobe. I love the colour-blocked dress. 😍
Thank you! She does have the best wardrobe - I just love sewing for her!
I have looked at Liberty but never purchased any. Its beautiful. Your quilting is coming along wonderfully and I also find it relaxing. Quilting is my cleanse between sewing clothing.
Thank you so much. I feel like I have so much to learn with the quilting, but I am really enjoying it.
Such beautiful fabric, my word! Those prints just elevate a make! Gorgeous! And the binding on your coat is perfection
Thank you so much! I do love a Liberty binding!
I've just discovered Liberty fabrics as I'm an American and just got into sewing last year. Well, I'm addicted to it, such great quality fabric, I so love it. I'm going to visit London in the fall and plan on visiting the store which I'm sooooo excited about 😄
Ah! The Liberty store is so beautiful, I am sure you will love it!! ❤️

Thank you - those are two of my favourites too!
Oh my goodness love your Liberty fabrics gorgeous, the last Liberty I made was my granddaughters birthday dress xx
I checked out French Navy patterns per your recommendation and the Vetiver top you made! Love it - I'll get the expansion pack at some point. Thank you for your contribution to the sewing community.
That is so kind of you to say! I am so glad you like the Vetiver top pattern - it is one of my favourites!

I love Liberty Tana Lawn. I have several pieces waiting to be turned into special occasion dresses for my little granddaughter.
I bet they will look so beautiful!

The Itch to Stitch Andes jacket is a great one for the ripstop
Ooh - I'll check that out - thank you!

Thank you for the pattern suggestion - I will look that one up! A shirred liberty dress sounds perfect!
Absolutely love your Lyra dress, you have enthused me to send for the pattern and use some Liberty fabric I bought sometime ago. Thankyou.
Oh, a Liberty Lyra will be beautiful!
I've made two sun dresses from tana lawns, the warm colourway of Alma and another one I'm not sure of its name. I still have a couple in my stash! They are indeed so beautiful!
They are just so beautiful to sew with.
The Assembly Line have a cute rain coat pattern

Thank you so much Adele! I loved the look of the shop you shared on your Friday Sews - I think I would love to visit! ❤️

Thank you so much Susan. I will definitely look at that pattern - and thanks for the tip regarding the hood too!

Thank you so much - a top out of the dark pink Liberty is a great idea! So lovely to hear from another NZ sewist. Thanks for watching!
Your fabrics are beautiful Amelia, I’m not experienced enough to sew with Liberty fabric, one day hopefully ❤😊
Thank you! I think it appears more daunting than it is. It is so lovely to sew with!
Oh my goodness.. will you make me a smocked dress.. Your daughters are beautiful..
Thank you!
You could get a Friday pattern co Donny top with one metre!
That's a pattern I really want to try!

A Liberty blouse is just the best! So lovely to make, and to wear. I am sure your dress for the wedding will look stunning too!
I've never bought them before. I'd probably be too scared to cut into them and they'd end up in my wardrobe for years with all my other more expensive fabrics 😂😂❤
I was so daunted at first, but actually the lawn is so lovely to work with and even nicer to wear!
My favourite has to be the strawberry thief.

I love all pattern fabrics that are small flowers other designs many years ago I made my maternity dresses with that fabric 🥰
I love the small flower prints - they are so pretty!
Sorry but I cannot catch the pattern name and sometimes the company. Could you make more of a point to announce the name and company?
