Hi Micheline, it's always a joy to watch your enthusiasm for fabrics and what bargains you had too 👌💝. I must have a go at fabric dyeing, as you have had great success with that... I love your beige linen that you died black 👌. I also loved the big check linen that you said about the poncho and the green fabric with the orange flowers looked amazing when you held it up against you... I agree that it would be so lovely as a Christmas dress 💚💛😁👍😘
I keep going to pound fabrics because everything I've ordered has far surpassed my expectations. So, as far as I can see I'm getting value nd quality for my money Loriann. xxx
Your pretty black, white and purple circles looks like Vera Bradley fabrics. It is a beautiful fabrics you have. Vera Bradley makes collections of matching wallets, handbags, makeup bags, masks, duffle bags worth. Most of it was quilted you. Well. FYI
Well you got me on that site again ordering 😁, found the most adorable Bunnies on Cycles Fabric £6 Mtr, it was so cute! I’ll be making a romper suit and quilt for little bump. 🥰 Forgot to say some great fabric and I do love that orange check. Love my ponchos, nice for when in my Power-chair, comfortable and warm. Do hope the lady is ok, 🙁 my daughters partners Mum caught covid visiting family in Scotland, thankfully she and family members on the other side of it now. 😘 xx
All that fabric kinda makes me nervous thinking how much time it will take to sew up all the ideas you have for them🥴😬. The fabric was beautiful! Good to see you back on TH-cam
Ha! we sometimes think google is listening to our conversations. I look something up on my phone and when I turn on my laptop adverts keep popping up referencing what I was looking at!!!!
There is nothing like a great fabric haul, well done you did get some great bargains. A suggestion for the beige linen; you could make the Style Arc 'Teddy Top', I reckon you would really love this design and it would really suit you (and the matching 'Bobby' pants too...). Love to the Pussycats xxx
I bought that orange check linen on my local market stall in Newark £4 a metre and made a StyleArc Hope dress which I LOVE. I buy a lot from Rainbow Fabrics, nice people to deal with.
Have you clicked the 🔔 under my vlogs. It should automatically tell you when I have a new vlog up. However I'm going to try my best to upload one at least once a week. 😘😉👍
I thoroughly enjoyed seeing all your beautiful fabrics you scored ;-) ! And hearing what piqued your interest in learning to sew! You've piqued my interest to start online fabric shopping lol. The only thing is I think I'll miss actually seeing and feeling the fabric before I purchase. But I'll chance it. I can't believe the savings! xx
Don't go too mad when buying online. I have found a few cheap shops here in the UK (Not sure if you are in the UK) I bought small amounts to make sure the fabric was acceptable, It was from a couple and rubbish from another. And so I now knwo which ones I'm going to get cheap but very nice fabric. xxx
@@michoumakes I'm from the US and don't have too many options (that I know of anyway) in person. Maybe I just need to do some research and be willing to drive a bit, maybe make a day trip out of it. xx
Lovely to see your great fabric stash, what shirt patterns are you thinking of?. I remember the Ponchos well ,i sat crocheting one for my Daughter, when i was in labour in hospital with my youngest son,we were living in Malta in the RAF at the time,i still have my crochet poncho, and am 75 lol. Thank you for a lovely catch up.hugs xxJean.
Oh I remember the poncho!! I also had a croched one. My mom even made me a long mid thigh length crochet vest that was popular in the 70's. I think the plaid fabric would be lovely as a poncho! I see black pants and knee high boots to go with it. I especially love the black floral chiffon! You could also make a long flowy shirt to wear open over a top and pants with that.
Do you ever watch Sam at Frugalisama she shows free patterns. The plaid multi colored linen, the floral chiffon, the cotton leaves , love that you dye things. Dylon is fab. Your narration makes me 😃. Thx Michou
Thanks for suggesting Sam at Frugalisama. I watched one of her vlogs a while back and meant to keep an eye on her videos but completely got sidelined. I've just been watching her 5 questions. I must check out her free patterns vlog too. 👍🏻
I would love to see you make a top in any of the chiffoney type fabrics that you have there. I have been having a terrible time trying to make a top and just don't seem to be able to conquer the process. Would you be able to do a mini tutorial of sewing on chiffon or chalis?? I really want that french terry fabric it is awesome!!
@@michoumakes I would so appreciate that I really want to wear this top before it gets too cold for it. Although I could still wear it next summer. That was a bit of encouragement for you ;)
I missed this video. Don't know how as I love my sewing lady videos. I wonder what Lyocil (sp?) fabric is? Pretty design and nice rich colours for winter. Lots of good value in your fabric haul.
I had to look it up but I'm quite interested to see what it's made of... Lyocell, also known as Tencel fabric, is a manmade cellulose fibre most commonly derived from wood pulp. Now I'm off to see if I can find any. I probably won't be able to afford it but it'd be nice to see what it looks like. XXX
I still have a beautiful white poncho that my mom bought for me when I was a teenager. I haven't worn it in years - maybe it'll come back in style and I'll pull it out and wear it again! Love your fabrics. The bright colors are so fun.
Love all the fabrics. You were about to talk about how you got into dress making before you got interrupted with a phone call, please tell us the story. We ❤ u!
I continued that story a little later in the vlog when I added a video of a lady fitting a manikin. But there's more to it than that so I will no doubt tell you more in a coming vlog. 😍😉😘
Now that’s what you call a right good haul. WOW I loved all of it, I was laughing when you said most was bought at 3a m, because most of my purchases are around the 2-3 am too. Usually flitting about on internet because I can’t sleep. Can’t wait to see your makes, you’re going to be busy, xx
Love your haul..so many great pieces! The cotton leaf print- were you thinking of Mary Quant? That one and the last one you showed (orange floral) are my favs.
well I had to go and look at the vlog to see which orange checked fabric you meant. And to be honest I had forgotten all about that. It's obviously still in my stash somewhere. Now you've mentioned it I think I ought to consider doing something with it asap. 🤭😉😘
Just not fair how reasonable the prices are for fabric in the UK and the quality!!!😤 US needs to DO better! I think the fabric with the leaves would make a lovely shirt dress!♡ I am disabled and on a fixed income therefore I haven't been able to afford fabric to teach myself properly how to garment sew. One day 🤞🏾when my son graduates from medical school. That will be forever but we will get there. 😅
I feel the same but in reverse! Going by the hauls I see from TH-camrs that are across the pond I definitely think you have a greater selection of fabric at amazing prices, plus, you have $0.99 pattern sales and such, you also have access to sewing gadgets and notions that we don’t have here!
@@rhonddalesley Yes that is true...but the prices for patterns or no longer that cheap. 🤷🏾♀️ Ever since covid prices for EVERYTHING have gone up! I have family in the UK but no one that sews and to have them send me stuff the shipping is expensive. What kinds of sewing gadgets go we have that you can't get?🤔 Very Curious? A lot of people in the US are moving towards Inde patterns these days as well, and...a meter is more than a yard. 😁
I have to say that pound fabrics and a couple of other online sites do have extremely be cheap (and good quality) fabric but generally most fabric shops are much more costly. 🤔🤨😘
Pound fabrics are great, unlike pound a metre who ripped me off! I’ve spent a lot of money with them over the last year because their prices are low, mostly fabric for toiles because it’s not always the best quality but they left something out of my last order and argued with me about it. They asked me to take a photo of the box and contents which I pointed out was daft because I can’t photograph something I don’t have 🤷🏻♀️ They refused to give me a refund or replacement and needless to say they won’t be getting any more of my money!
Contrast that with Rainbow Fabrics. There was a mistake on my order - immediate apology, refund, correct fabric sent 1st class together with £10 off my next order. I was very impressed and have spent a lot with them and been very happy with the fabric received.
How WIERD is this - I was in the Pound fabrics website (phone) as I put your video on (tablet) and went to my shopping cart to check what I'd got in there, I watched a bit of your video then I pressed my back button as you were chatting about the beige viscose linen and voila- what fabric did my back button take me to? Yes, the beige viscose linen! Google is frightening.
Enjoying your videos, but I have question in relation to fast fashion. As home sewers, do we have a responsibility to reduce our carbon footprint, by making /investing in good quality fabrics and wearing them for the life of the garment rather than constant purchasing of fabric and making of garments only to be worn a few times. Our parents and grandparents didn't buy and make for the sake of it. And yes I am and have been guilty also. Is it time to address this environmental issues related to home sewing?
Love ,Love your fabric.....I love bright colors. A woman after my own heart
Thanks Rose. 👍😍
