  • Quick video [While I was sick.. sorry] on why I choose to install/sell Airdog over FASS on SPECIFICALLY 2015-2016 LML Duramax 2500/3500 Trucks
    Airdog is just simple and works. 2001-2014 Duramax Trucks are different installations and very different.
    Drop a comment down below if you need me to get really specific on this but I felt that a quick video would help answer some questions on newbies/DIY'ers trying to make the choice between the two on the new 15-16 platform

    Nick is the man and knows exactly what he’s doing with these trucks. The truck rides awesome with the new lift and with the air dog it runs even better. Thanks again brother.

      I won't be installing a FASS / Airdog on my 2022 buddy. I already run the VSE Fuel System Saver that helps with filtration and the L5P trucks (2017+) already have a lift pump in the tank

    You know what would be great? A full video on problems with certain trucks.
    Example: I have a 2013 DMax and everyone said, “get rid of the CP4 and you’ll have no issues.”
    Do the CP3 change. Then 6 months later I get air leaks.
    “Well you need a lift pump!”
    Get a friggin Lift pump.
    Then, “well you need a sump now!”
    WTMF!!?
    Just tell we beginners everything from the beginning.
    Basically: “you need to change every single part on the whole friggin truck!”

    I just installed a fast 165 . I wanted a air dog but couldn’t get one but with the fast I got it tapped into the stock fuel lines and I ran my truck way down on fuel

    • @americanduramax
      @americanduramax  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's awesome. I know those motors will start to fail quickly on the stock lines; just keep an eye (or ear) on it if you didn't drop the tank for straw or run a sump

    why does the 4g 150gph need the draw straw and the 5g 165gph doesnt?

    Why do they not make a lift pump for gmc l5p! I have a Fass and would like to switch over to air dog

    • @americanduramax
      @americanduramax  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think because the system consists of a motor & filters and setup in a way to eliminate contaminants, water, air etc
      Now that 17+ L5P’s have a variable speed pump in the tank itself, it doesn’t need a pump. The current FASS is a pain to install on the L5P’s & requires you to tune the oem pump off to eliminate codes or any readings it sends back about water In system etc.
      I found that the RUNVSE fuel system saver in my previous video does the trick for the L5P’s
      Hope that kinda answers it buddy. Still wish Air-dog had something though. I like their products

    • @americanduramax
      @americanduramax  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      hey Ruben, the Fass/airdog are not great options for the L5P long story short. The runvse fuel system saver would be the best for any 2017-2024+ L5P platform buddy. We have them on our website too!

    The AD 5G are almost as good as the FASS. They made most of the criticisms FASS made but uses on there's. The AD tend to be shorter height though. That helps on the older Dmax where the FASS are too tall and hang below the frame rail underneath.

    • @americanduramax
      @americanduramax  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Absolutely man, the AD is just overall more compact

      @americanduramax  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey buddy! Either one would be great for your year Duramax. The new airdog 5G is solid and is quiter than the fass. I’d still say airdog would be my preference on an 01-10 truck too

    Why the 100 and not the 165?

    • @americanduramax
      @americanduramax  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      "for only a few bucks more i can just get the 165"... that was my thought process until a few years ago too. I had given very little chance to the 100. During the shortages a few years ago, it was all i could get my hands on. I remember my first one and i was so pissed. i turned the key forward after install on a customers vehicle and wondered why it wasnt working... well.. it was and it was that silent. the 100 and 165 share the same footprint and motor size but the 100 works far less and something like a 165 isnt needed for normally 0-200HP tunes. If it was my truck, i wouldnt blink twice and i'd do an airdog 100. it's silent and will last much longer and not throw excess fuel down the fillter neck all day long. hope that helps

      The fass is too tall to fit inside frame rail without hanging down(custom mount). The included bracket hangs it outside the frame rail. The shortbed needs a customized bracket to move pump to rear more or it hits bottom of filler tube and is visible under bed a bit.
