FASS made me send in my whole pump and filter assembly to replace the motor, they wouldn’t just send me a motor. Was out of a truck for 2 weeks and I had to pay shipping. Will be will airdog for now on.

Been running an AirDog II 4G 165GPH on my deleted and tuned LMM. I have ported fuel rail fittings, fuel rail pressure relief valve delete plug, deleted the factory fuel filter and housing, installed Dorman stainless steel fuel lines, and a new sending unit in the tank. It's been running perfect fuel rail pressure. It's amazing.
Forgot to send in the warranty card within the first month so hopefully I wont have any issues with it. Lol

Absolutely go with Kennedy. Do the research. AirDog/Fass pumps create excessive aeration and heat.
Decades ago put a Fass 150 on my 24v H.O. & change lifters once a year. (O.E.M. vp44 lasted 129k miles.) Fass still like new.
Here is my personal experience with airdog.
Installation was somewhat painful (it's not clear on their site which model required tank removal and drilling so I ended up with the one that did even though I don't need any extreme tireburning performance) but doable.
The first thing that happened upon start, check engine light came on with the P0089 dreadful rail pressure code. Quick search online revealed that it was a common problem because the pump comes from the factory poorly calibrated and line pressure is not desired 7-8 psi. You might wonder why the hell couldn't they set it. I sure did. Needless to say, you need a scanner to check code. I used to be in the automotive inspections field so I do.
No instructions on how to deal with it were found in the installation manual or on their site so I called tech support.
Apparently, I bothered busy people in the middle of something important - the guy was less than nice. Not even at walmart level nice. In any case, I learned that I needed to disconnect the line, unscrew the nipple and cut 1 or 2 coils from the valve spring. The above procedure is to be done more than once to get desired pressure. You might wonder why they did not provide a simple adjustment screw on the pump body. For that kind of money. I sure as hell did.
There are two issues with this procedure. First, every time you remove the line, you get sprayed with fuel. Second, you need means to measure pressure at the filter. I do have fuel pressure gauge but threads in the bleeder plug happen to be metric while none of numerous adapters that came with the gauge were. To make your life even more miserable, standard-to-metric adapters are not readily available so I had to cut threads on a standard adapter and it worked but leaked. Not nice.
3-4 unplugging-unscrewing-cutting-measuring-plugging-screwing sequences and I got a little over 8 psi. Everything was fine and dandy for a few months. Probably because I am a Toyota man and rarely use this truck for firewood, and other heavy duty household chores, and only put about 500 miles on it since pump installation.
Imagine my excitement when the CEL came on yesterday with the same lovely code. Now I have a lovely perspective of going through the same adjustment procedure but this time at freezing temperature. What could be more pleasurable than being soaked with diesel fuel? Being soaked while freezing.
Now, have good luck with this pump. And if you don't have the equipment I mentioned, you need a LOT of luck.

I had a Air Dog put on my stock LML to save the cp4. To no avail, it still had a come apart, but that’s for another topic. Now my truck runs out of gas going up a hill at 3/8 of a tank. Had fun diagnosing that one. Why doesn’t the return line go back to the stock return on the tank? And why am I having the pick up problem now? I’ve searched high and low on the net but can’t find the answers I’m looking for except adding a sump. Really don’t want to add a sump to a stock horsepower truck.
You going to put a fuel sump on this one as well you can get the one with the return in it as well the no need to cut filler neck.

The frame looks absolutely georgous! Looking at the wheels and tires im liking it more and more. Should leave them on this Duramax. Im excited to see the bed and the cab on this beautiful frame. Definitely don't look like the same frame when you were tearing her down.

Had my air dog installed a couple weeks ago and I had fuel leaks from all the fittings, took the truck in and air dog sent a complete replacement and it did the same thing. So the shop went through and fixed it themselves.
Had the same problem had to take fittings off and use thread sealer to get them threaded in far enough and keep them from leaking 4 years later still no leaks.

Hey there are alot of other companies that make lift pumps... I put kennedy diesel lift pumps on my truck 2 years ago. Couldn't be happier! I went dual lift pumps but you could do just one. The thing I like about the kennedy pumps setup is they have a oil pressure relay that shuts the pump off in the event of a crash.

I went with a fass cause it had better heating options for in the winter cause i had the lift pump block freeze up even with antigell in the fuel and the filters were not gelled just the block frozen on water side must have got bad fuel

I went with fass because they actually wanted to sell me a lift pump, airdog customer service/sales was non existent. The fass system is literally so quiet you can’t hear it.

Truck Master that couldn’t be more true. A lot of times if someone feels your not a buyer you won’t be treated the same way but you never know who is and is not a buyer until the money come out. Im sure that goes both ways with both companies. I’m glad I got the fass though I like the mounting brackets better then airdog and the motor is literally so quiet you can’t even hear it when your turn the key on before hitting the starter also the filter possibilities with the fass system are pretty much endless.

I think I saw a video where Fass was testing an air dogs filtration effectiveness and it turned out that theirs is better at filtering effectiveness so I bought a fass and I’m really happy with it. Not saying air dog sucks just Fass is a bit ahead haha. Great product from air dog as well
My only issue with Fass is there filters they are so problematic if you have there filters ditch them ASAP and get a good set of cat or Donaldson ones
Besides the fact the Fass brass barbed fittings leak, and Fass won’t sell them to you or answer emails or return calls, and then when their fittings burn up their pumps will get tell you to buy an other one.
@@mc-qx6ue You can put any fitting on there it's basic 1/2" NPT pipe thread. Then a Flare fitting...nothing out of the ordinary. After the flare there's a hose barb...a very popular type...if it "leaks" put a clamp on till it stops. An independent study tested the water filter to about 60gph...but the pump is 100gph at the lowest...SOOOO how well does that work? When the filter is full it will just pass the water into the system. Yea great idea... FASS has 4 ports for adding heat. Fass has larger 10ga wire and higher rated connectors...actually built to work.

I had a 2011 LML and put a FASS on it per forum recommendations. The instructions for my specific truck didn't work (mounting location was wrong) and the filters weren't labeled and looked identical except for height, also didn't match the picture in instructions or on box. When I called FASS and asked which filter goes where they said it didn't matter LMAO. I found an answer on the forum and never had an issue with the pump, but holy hell if I pay $800+ for something I expect the instructions to be accurate????? Bunch of clowns over there.

I've been running an air dog on my 2005 lly for over 4 years now. I agree the kit makes the install easy and the quality is great. I just wish I had gone with the 165 rather than the 100. I've been running either Donaldson or Fleetguard filters. What are your thoughts on those brands?

I recently have been watching your videos and was wondering where is a place that I can find parts to get rid of unwanted exhaust fumes going back into my 07 classic LBZ any help?
My air dog has 10k on it started blowing fuses 3 months ago they told me change the fuse tap did that was fine for a while and started blowing fuses again changed another fuse tap and same issue. A little annoyed that'd I'd have a problem after just one year. Should've just went with a kennedy pump instead.

This might a dumb question but , say you’d wanna run an air dog lift pump on a 92 6.5 turbo diesel Chevy , since it only runs 6-10psi on the stock lift pump how would you regulate pump pressure so it wouldn’t ruin injection pump?
aftermarket lift pump has regulator to prevent supplying more pressure than needed.

I’ve always have ran a fass lift pump no issues and idk but truckmaster is switching from his lift pumps to his piping setups and the new companies are “the best on the market” I don’t get it. Hsp and wcfab are overpriced and you don’t need it
I'm sure there is a better place to do this but I'm doing it here. I just recently bought a LLY. Didn't know anything about Duramax until truck master videos. The videos have made me interested in upgrades. The truck is completely stock. I was looking at buying a stage 1 package from Duramaxtuner.com. But I don't see anyone on youtube talking about them (except their own youtube channel). The forums say they are good. Is there a better solution? Is it worth the money? Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated from the community. Thanks.
Definitely buy a turbo from Ryan I would never recommend there turbos I heard bad stories from others

@@ercysuazo726 you will feel a smoother idle and a tad better throttle response. at least i did. but you are really taking a ton of work off your injection pump. for 700 $ you can save a 3000K pump install/ thats a good deal in my book. not to mention the injectors getting pure clean fuel instead of air and maybe water.

Don’t k ow about the history, but the new FASS filters are amazing. Water separation kicks AD’s ass. There’s a video on TH-cam comparing them and it is night and day better.

I run cat on mine, works great. Cat dealer near me gives a discount if I buy 10 or more filters, so I buy 3 changes worth at a time as I run all CAT filters.

They are stealing CAT converters like hot cakes today, a performance lift pump would not shock me. For my 2002 FS65 Freightliner, I will build a metal box for it and label it "electrical junction".
