Excellent way of explaining way AirDog is the one you pick. I have always used AirDog based on customer service. I also had a couple of electric motors die on me from fuel getting past the seal from the pump. My 12v didn't need a lift pump but my 24v did. I learned to hard way from the moment I bought it what it takes to keep it going. It blows me away to think that between Chrysler and Bosch engineering nobody had a bit of sense to increase the fuel pressure above 14psi when the relief return valve in the VP44 was set to 14psi. I bought my 2nd gen in 2013 and drove it 250 miles when it crapped out on the side of the road. VP44 failed and lift pump in the tank failed. Of course I am disabled with a limited income so it took me 3 months to come up with the cash to get it running again. In between I read everything I could about VP44s and the type of fuel system set up I needed to get reliability. My first diesel was a 2006 GMC 2500 SLT Duramax Crew Cab, a great truck with a Banks exhaust and cold air system and a single tune from PowerUpDiesel and believe me for the years I drove it I got 18 Plus in town and 23 to 24 mpg loaded with my gear (Boilermaker) on the road. I had to sell it when I could no longer work in 2011. The Dodges were great but I couldn't shift them with leg braces on which I have to wear to walk. Just bought a 2007 GMC Classic 2500 Duramax a few weeks ago, very comfortable for me and it's automatic. It needs some work, previous owners didn't do the maintenance like they should have in my opinion and it has left me with a hefty amount to spend to fix things. I guess I'm the biggest sucker when it comes to selling something. I always tell the truth and always tell everything that was worked on. I sleep well at night conscious wise but I will stand before God one day and be held accountable for my actions. I was watching your video because I wanted to try the FASS but couldn't do it based on my experience with AirDog and replacements which you reminded me of I'm going to stick with what worked best for me in the past. Thank you.
I liked my airdog, I have the airdog 2 with plastic mounts, the biggest issue I had is gelling up and my motor went out. I ended up going with the FASS pump 1) easier to find filters that fit 2) local shop so if I want FASS filters they are right there and 3) most important reason, I can added a fuel heater also have option to run another electric heater. In Minnesota with bio diesel a heater is almost mandatory........I also have the beans sump.....LOVE IT

That was a good argument for AirDog. I’m guessing you have to do a stock fuel delete of some sort. If so, any recommendations and is it difficult? Thanks for sharing.
Even if you are picking up crap from the bottom of the tank, you now have 3 filters to remove it, instead of relying on just one that already exists on a stock truck, so not to worry. Thats the purpose of the filters.
QUESTION,QUESTION.... i have a 02 5.9L cummins i like to install an air dog fuel system., this is the right one.? this is what i need.,or i have to buy some more things.? please let me know. tengo una 02 dodge ram 5.9L 24valve cummins quiero instalar un sistema de combustible pueden ayudarme y eviten si esta es la que necesito ? o no es suficiente y necesito comprar algo más.??
Are u making the install video soon? I am putting both the beans sump and air dog 4g on my truck and would like to be able to follow what u do to better my work
Competitors have shown airdog filtration to be horrible. I don't always believe what I see, even if it looked like a legit comparison. But I also would expect if this other manufacturer was making false claims over this product....AirDog would have buried this competitor by now. I say this because I'm looking to make this upgrade. Do you have any information refuting this?
Greg, thanks for showing this. I'm looking into getting a 4G now, thanks to you. One question though... while I like the design of the sump pickup, I don't like how low it would be on the tank of my E350, running a 7.3 I've recently gone through the entire pickup module in my tank, and would prefer to just route it through the standard top-draw to maintain the smooth lower profile, less chance to hit stuff with it. ;-) Will I route the intake AND the return to that pump? I'm under the impression that the return port is largely unnecessary, although I'll be glad to route it back.
New to this but have a new truck. Will adding this void my warranty? I know some will say it depends on the dealer but has anyone had experience with this. Thanks
The g&r has the beans beat I think same awesome one bolt design but has the return in the sump to. So less airation of fuel since it comes from the bottom and not dropping back on top. Just food for thought.
I understand what your saying, but Airdogs 4G's barely return any fuel to "drop" or "dump" from return. Even in G&R's video they have a 4G returning from the bottom and there is no bubbles even coming from it. I do like there sump but if you don't have a high return system, there really is no need for a bottom return. Again just my opinion
Most do not need 165 gph pumps ! Especially for a daily driver / weekend racer. Wayyy to much returning fuel, not mention the pump is working overtime at all times due to the fact your NEVER using 165gph unless your doing 135-155miles per hour. These trucks run at 20psi lol Soooo fass is just as good if proper model and install done correctly I have both fass and going to buy air dog
It’s also significantly better for your engine due to EGT going up and out like gases are supposed to instead of traveling up and sticking to the top of your straight back exhaust
hey man great videos..I have a 06 6 speed so this is a perfect channel..thanks..I have the original 100 gph airdog ..with pump failures with them do to seal leaks is there anything I can do to help prevent this from happening..thanks
I don't think there is much you really can do unfortunately but I think with an original 100 you might not need to worry about it, if its been on there for awhile then you might be good. It was really only some of the 165's before the 4G's came out that were the issue.
Hello sir ,, I have an II 4g 100 system in my Silverado,, but i also wanna install an pressure gauge,, my question is how do I find out how much pressure my lift pump is pushing??? Anyone? thanks 🙏
I already got the fleece in tank pump. The power driven diesel pump is probably best for fuel flow but in my situation it the woods or fields I'd end up getting something stuck up in the belt to that pump.
They help with just about every aspect when it comes to the fuel system. Consistent fuel flow at a set pressure to the injection pump(s). Pump isn’t working as hard to get the fuel from the lift pump compared to the in tank pump. Increasing the life of the injection pump. The filters are generally a lower micron than the factory fuel filter and water separator. Helping take a lot debris and water out of the fuel before it makes it to your pump and into your injectors to cause damage. They also help with removing air from the fuel. Even a completely factory truck adding an air dog could benefit.
Hey man awesome video , I'm looking to get a pump myself really kinda made my decision for me . Was curious what did you paint your mirrors with? Soo tired of the faded black plastic look on my 05 .
how our what do you use to remove it? And if you leave it do you need to cap it off or anything? I'm planning on installing my airdog 4g once beans has the sump available and lastly when will you be doing an install video on the airdog
What are your thoughts on running a higher GPH lift pump than you need, to leave room for future gains? My end-goal is 650hp which would put me in 150 GPH territory, but with the truck being nearly stock (just CAI, H&S tuner & 20% injectors) should I wait on a lift pump until turbo & tuning catches up? ('06 Cummins)
For a stockfish truck a sump isn't needed as a matter of fact they can be problematic also. Its a lazy man's way out instead of modifying the factory pump. If you are having the 1/4 tank problem your probably going to have it with a sump. I didn't think cutting a 2 3/4" hole in the bottom of a fuel tank a great idea. You also have a fuel line under your tank with might be a good idea if you use your truck for 4 wheeling. Look at the data for pumps and you will see the difference between the airdog and the FASS system. Save your money and buy a pump that actually is good for your engine. Your experience means nothing compared to lab results. I'm going to buy a FASS system, but thanks for the video.
Hey so I have a 2007 Silverado 2500 hd gas and it’s lifted and I’m getting 9 miles to the gallon. Is there a tuner or something I could buy so save more gas without lowering my truck??????
Just traded my 2007.5 2500hd crew cab in on a diesel because of the horrible mpg 9.5 driving and 7mpg while towing 7k pound trailer. Truck would struggle to hold overdrive on hwy also got on my nerves kicking down all the time from 6th to 5th gear at 70mph and 4th gear at 3300 rpm while pulling hills on highway
so hows the sound on this bitch after a yaer or two? I hear they get louder as they gain in age, this thing is nearly 2 years old now if you still have it. how is it holding up?
yes I use Cat ir 751. 2 micron absolute, You have to remove 2 tabs that you see when you remove stock filter then it will fit. Ive been using this combo for a while now

Hi, I just had my Raptor lift go bad on my 2000 24v Cummins, would it be a better use of money to buy a new Air-Dog- 4g pump vs another raptor pump ? just would like an opinion about my situation, Thanks in advance!
Personally I would just get the 4G pump now, its more money but it is a much better/ complete system that will last forever. If you need a source to get one, let me know!
Why an airdog or fass when they now sell mechanical lift pumps which seem to be very reliable and longer lasting. I've been running an Airdog raptor 100 for 25,000 miles with no problems so far but I am curious to get your opinion.
O ok, they have been out for awhile and I had a friend purchase and install one of these awhile back and he mentioned that it was more of a pain installing and dealing with the way they drive the pump and wishes he would have just ran an electric pump, Airdog has tested there new 4G on a stand running continuously and it had insane amount of hrs on it. They converted it into mileage and it would have been like 500k miles. So in my opinion electric pump and motors have come a long way and I wouldn't see a electric pump any less reliable than anything else on the market. Thats just my opinion tho, hope it helps!
Just ordered one, need a question answered. For a 2nd gen dodge 2500 Do you still have to take out the sending unit and modify it when your doing a sump with it?

Even if you are picking up crap from the bottom of the tank, you now have 3 filters to remove it, instead of relying on just one that already exists on a stock truck, so not to worry. Thats the purpose of the filters.
QUESTION,QUESTION....
i have a 02 5.9L cummins
i like to install an air dog fuel system.,
this is the right one.?
this is what i need.,or i have to buy some more things.?
please let me know.
tengo una 02 dodge ram 5.9L 24valve cummins
quiero instalar un sistema de combustible
pueden ayudarme y eviten si esta es la que necesito ?
o no es suficiente y necesito comprar algo más.??
Are u making the install video soon? I am putting both the beans sump and air dog 4g on my truck and would like to be able to follow what u do to better my work
I am trying to get to it, but this winter weather and snow really slows down production lol I am "hoping" within a week.
GREG_ALBERALLA thanks so much that would be much helpful! Love ur videos!
Do you need to buy a heater for the airdog??
Air dog warranty is sketchy comparing to fass. They gave a hard time. Other then that they seem to be very similar product IMO.
Greg, thanks for showing this. I'm looking into getting a 4G now, thanks to you.
One question though... while I like the design of the sump pickup, I don't like how low it would be on the tank of my E350, running a 7.3 I've recently gone through the entire pickup module in my tank, and would prefer to just route it through the standard top-draw to maintain the smooth lower profile, less chance to hit stuff with it. ;-)
Will I route the intake AND the return to that pump? I'm under the impression that the return port is largely unnecessary, although I'll be glad to route it back.
Do you need to drop the tank or get to the fuel pump if u use a sump
These trucks run at 20psi lol
Soooo fass is just as good if proper model and install done correctly
I have both fass and going to buy air dog
Just wondering why you chose a stack over out the back exhaust?
Only because certain tracks require the exhaust on diesel trucks to point straight up, so the stack made it easier.
It’s also significantly better for your engine due to EGT going up and out like gases are supposed to instead of traveling up and sticking to the top of your straight back exhaust
Will cat fuel filters fit on the air dog??
It be nice if they made black filters which would be less noticeable
New Lion paint them or wrap them with vinyl. Just a thought
What happened to black market performance I thought that’s what you were running on your truck
Thanks for the video. Good job !
hey man great videos..I have a 06 6 speed so this is a perfect channel..thanks..I have the original 100 gph airdog ..with pump failures with them do to seal leaks is there anything I can do to help prevent this from happening..thanks
Anyone? thanks 🙏
great info man. that pretty much sold me on it.
Yeah but what are the benefits?
Even tho this is an old video what's your thoughts on the in tank pump from fleece?
My thoughts are...... go to Power Driven Diesel and check out there mechanical one. That's where I'm leaning.
I already got the fleece in tank pump. The power driven diesel pump is probably best for fuel flow but in my situation it the woods or fields I'd end up getting something stuck up in the belt to that pump.
4 years later - still feel the same?
Now more than ever IMO
is the motor brushless?
Are these ment just for more fuel for more power or do they also help with component life
They help with just about every aspect when it comes to the fuel system.
I had a body shop do them for me, so I believe there is a special primer they lay down after prep and then they get treated like any other body part.
PlastiDip works great.
Sick channel man! 👍Wondering what's the lift and tire specs on ur brothers megacab?
Mario M Thanks! It is stock height in the front, lowered in the rear and rims are 20x12 with a 32 in diameter Nitto Terra Grapplers.
Appreciate the info man. Great video!
what do you do with the factory return line after installing an airdog since you use the factory feed line as the new return line?
It can stay in place, or be removed
how our what do you use to remove it? And if you leave it do you need to cap it off or anything? I'm planning on installing my airdog 4g once beans has the sump available and lastly when will you be doing an install video on the airdog
hay bud just wondering what you do for a living. just wondering if performance diesels r a hobby our how you make your living
I have never worked in the diesel performance industry, I'm deeply involved but I am a shop manager in a different automotive field
What lab results?
Great Video thanks for all the information.
Thanks, your welcome!
I have the same setup, very happy 👍
I know this is an old video but I think you just made me an airdog guy
Can you use cat filters with air dog
yes I use Cat ir 751. 2 micron absolute, You have to remove 2 tabs that you see when you remove stock filter then it will fit. Ive been using this combo for a while now
turbocrzy0823 I have a airdog 2 4g and didn't have to remove the tabs. I think they're making them like that now.
You said they got talk around having bad pumps?? i’d rather not buy it lol
Ty
Yeah that hole straw pickup sucks
I had a Fass system installed on my 2015 6.7 , well shortly after it was installed the tube fell off !
I wished I’d seen this first Greg
What a mess ,thx for the heads up👍
Maybe I misunderstood, but the Airdog didn't change the straw situation you experienced with the FASS. The Bean sump would.
13:02 What, exactly is "a crap-ton"? Care to define?
Doug Rogillio it’s a little more than a “shit load”
And way less than a butt load!😂
Love my air dog and beans sump
Hi, I just had my Raptor lift go bad on my 2000 24v Cummins, would it be a better use of money to buy a new Air-Dog- 4g pump vs another raptor pump ? just would like an opinion about my situation, Thanks in advance!
Personally I would just get the 4G pump now, its more money but it is a much better/ complete system that will last forever. If you need a source to get one, let me know!
The raptor 4 g has lifetime, why not replace, even the original raptor has warranty so the answer is do not spend more use the warranty
Can we not see a start up or burnout or something
So...with this does it bypass the factory fuel filter?
Alex Kunze yes
Why an airdog or fass when they now sell mechanical lift pumps which seem to be very reliable and longer lasting. I've been running an Airdog raptor 100 for 25,000 miles with no problems so far but I am curious to get your opinion.
Cummins Kyle which mechanical pumps are you referring too?
the DTT Assassin
O ok, they have been out for awhile and I had a friend purchase and install one of these awhile back and he mentioned that it was more of a pain installing and dealing with the way they drive the pump and wishes he would have just ran an electric pump, Airdog has tested there new 4G on a stand running continuously and it had insane amount of hrs on it. They converted it into mileage and it would have been like 500k miles. So in my opinion electric pump and motors have come a long way and I wouldn't see a electric pump any less reliable than anything else on the market. Thats just my opinion tho, hope it helps!
+GREG_ALBERALLA okay awesome. Thanks for the information. Will probably stick with airdog for life. In particular the 4g pumps. good stuff👍
Cummins Kyle No problem man, anytime!
Just ordered one, need a question answered. For a 2nd gen dodge 2500
Do you still have to take out the sending unit and modify it when your doing a sump with it?
Taran Coman I have the 97 12valve are you doing yours on a 12v? People have been recommending this to me
No mine is a 24v. I did take the sending unit out and and modify it, but I dont think I had to.
Thanks for the reply✌️
where did you get all this info?
You can get it all right off airdogs website as well
