    The reason Claire's videos are much longer is because she actually goes through the process of developing the recipe, including all the mistakes. The tasty vid is just a plain recipe for a lookalike.

    • @SennaAugustus
      @SennaAugustus 4 ปีที่แล้ว +319

      Claire's recipes also go through many reviews by many professionals with similarly high standards to come to the end products.

    • @Author.Noelle.Alexandria
      @Author.Noelle.Alexandria 4 ปีที่แล้ว +44

      Claire's videos also have a LOT of filler. They used to not be that way. I don't care to watch her have a mental breakdown over gummy bears or talk again about how she can't temper chocolate. That's filler to pad the runtime for more ad money.

    • @oblivpatt3419
      @oblivpatt3419 4 ปีที่แล้ว +143

      Sincerely, Noëlle I think the filler is how the editor adapts to the community’s comments over the time as we all want to see more of our favorite chefs (yes, others too, not just Claire). Sure, we’ve started to regret some of it, notably the ones you’ve mentioned there since the jokes have gone stale, but for the rest, especially the emphasis on BA staff interactions and some personal plugs of the hosts, they are what make the community dub the series or even the channel as the culinary version of The Office.

    • @cresdc8481
      @cresdc8481 4 ปีที่แล้ว +129

      @@Author.Noelle.Alexandria Personally I dont consider those filler. I watch those for the process.
      Those breakdowns proves that nobody can "replicate perfectly" a product that is manufactured with a machine and tons of workers. I mean who can really take the time to replicate the skittles without/having no recipes to follow it without losing a pinch of their sanity that is better/par in appearance and flavor? those are just as equally entertaining to watch as the rest of the video.
      I hope I made my thoughts across properly as English is not my first language

      @@sharonburton6801 When it comes to needing to get the silicone putty, a lot of people aren't going to track that down and order it (I keep that stuff on hand, so it's not like I'm complaining for not having it). The ingredients and supplies for Tasty's are all easy to find at the local grocery store. In fact, those two kinds of cocoa in BA's aren't always even found on one place. There is the issue of obtainability to consider. Is BA's so much better that it's worth potentially two stores to get the ingredients, then a third for the silicone, and a lot of extra expense? Not likely.

My point was, that BuzzFeed was created to turn out content, and their business model has always kind of been quantity above quality as a company overall. Whereas bon appetit, yes they are magazine, and yes they produce lots content, but it always felt like produce quality cooking content overall. And they got their start doing quirky stuff that naturally grew to the fan base that it has, on TH-cam. It's always felt more down to earth to me.
