Kudos to Del Toro for proving that animation isn't aimed for just kids, but for people of all ages. Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio is easily the best adaptation ever made (sorry Disney) and my favourite take on the classic tale.
I’m honestly shocked by how much I liked The Bad Guys! I’ve seen it twice and I liked it even more on the second rewatch. The way you were praising it was spot on and while it’s not quite one of my top 10 DreamWorks movies, it’s still one of my favourites! It’s nice that Sam Rockwell and Anthony Ramos were given another chance to star in a DreamWorks movie together and not have their talent wasted! 🐺🐠🕷️🐍🦈 P.S. You may have just made me appreciate Marmalade a bit more as a villain!
Respect. The bad guys is by far my favorite 2022 movie. It was so good! I didn’t even think I was gonna like it, but man it was great! I love the characters so much and felt like they all fit their roles perfectly. Also, I LOVED Wolf and Diane’s chemistry. What makes them better as a couple is the fact that dreamworks didn’t rush their relationship, but rather start them off as friends who share a similar background. But they didn’t have to tease us with the gala scene lol. All in all, great movie and review!
@Wolfington the trap when wolf touched the trophy thing and they get tied up was lazy writing, the movie didn't have perfect writing in the slightest, I was just pointing out one of the bigger flaws
@Wolfington it's a kids movie, so these movies sometimes tend to pander to kids brains and what is enjoyed only by them, but I'll still say them movie was 7/10 for me
Enterglactic is such an Underrated masterpiece like it’s not only the 4th best movie I saw last year but my 4th favorite movie of all time. I could barely find a single problem with it. This was apparently made to market Kid Cudis new album but you genuinely can’t tell because of how expertly his music and voice acting is blended in to this outstanding film
To me, the biggest thing to note is that, streaming wise, this was a great year for animation with MFD and Pinocchio being absolute standouts. Theatrically, on the other hand, the year was pretty weak because despite DreamWorks' miraculous comeback this year, Disney and Pixar put out some of their worst animated films in years and the rest was just forgettable. Hopefully, 2023 is a better year for theatrical animation.
2022 had incredible animated movies and I had so many favorites. My Father's Dragon has become my feel good film. It was just such a cute movie and Boris and Elmer had such a fun relationship. 🥰🥰😊The Bad Guys, Turning Red, Del Toro's Pinocchio, and The Sea Beast were among more of my favorites
ok... you won't believe this but. Luck was advertised in this arcade called Main Event. and I kid you not this is the only place that advertised it, the bulk of the ads I got where from this one place
turning read reminds me of the movie small foot. in a sense where you don't need it to be overly ambitious to be good. kind of like (I botched up the name) studio glibly where you know everyone loves almost all of their films but you don't really hear a massive outcry for what they do ( at least I don't)
In terms of 2022 animated films you haven’t seen that you might wanna check out. I just watched “Apollo 10 1/2 A Space Age Childhood” and it was pretty darn good 6-7/10 The movie is Richard Linklater’s third track in animation. A writer and Director known for less focus on story and more focus on human behaviour. This movie narrates suburban life in the American 60s from a boy who dreams of landing of the moon. The story however has the boy becoming an astronaut as the town he lives in is close to NASA. I wouldn’t call the movie amazing or super deep (like Guillermo Del Toros’ Pinocchio) but it is a fascinating experience that you may want to check out
The only thing I remember about Hotel Transylvania:Transformania is when the first trailer dropped and everyone was pissed off bc the Invisible Man wasn’t hot
I’d expect an animated holiday special for Diary of a Wimpy Kid instead of the CGI animated reboot movies or traditionally-animated movie adaptations of the books!

The wimpy kid movies animation is the thing that gets me the most i was expecting something like penuts with the animation but nope its stiff and unfinished
know it your opinion but DC league of super pets was my favourite animated film of 2022 and many people probably wonder why is Chip n Dale in the bad how are the Krangg forgettable? there one of the most well known villains in the series and when I first watched it yep I thought of Sonic through Leo they both act irresponsible but know when it time to act like the hero and I wonder if anyone who read the book knew right away that Marmalade was going to be the villain and I liked that Zurg was a future buzz even if no one else does

I honestly loved that film more than Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio or Puss in Boots: The Last Wish.
