Very happy you are trying new things to do in AoM. But maybe you should have always one eye at the minimap and other at the production queue to doesn't miss anything.

    Hello Bennnoloth. Me again.
As always: I love your theoretical, informational videos. Top quality and getting better.
What do you intend with casting games? Do you want to teach us some BOs, some strategies, do you just want to learn some things side by side with us, or do you want to entertain?
I watch a lot of AoM channels here on YT (I'm just a YT viewer), and here we already have many casters who entertain the audience, some teach BOs (like Magic and Boit, for example). But I admit that I don't see anyone doing good preemptive replay casting. What do I mean by that?
Except for those who use replays to show examples of BO (like Boit and Magic), we don't see casting where the caster has already seen the replay and knows what will happen. In this format, if done correctly, the caster can comment on the PROs' decisions in real time (at the point in the game where the PRO made the decision) in the correct context and intention.
We cannot know exactly what the player was thinking, but if we first observe where he led the game after the action, we can know and learn much more precisely what the professional player was intending and learn to imitate him.
Maybe you can fill this nieche since I already asked other YToubers to do it, and no one did.

Hiya. Intention was just to get some uploads out with less than a week between and give myself a change of pace. Will burn out doing the analysis every week. It seems that like you said there is not a lot of demand for it, given the lack of views. Might end up doing something different on the off week.

@@bennoloth I understand your plan. Magic does tier lists as week off. Maybe you can become a great caster, don't give up early even tho is true: there is a lot of people doing it right now.

@@josephmadre5590 man, I would love to do it myself. But english is not my 1st language, in portuguese the RTS scene is sad. And more important: I'm married and don't have the time anymore.
Hope you, young ones, can do what I can't. Hope the best.

Hey, we played a game of Mythic Strike today and you asked for feedback on this video. So I think this kind of content* is basically like a "let's hang out" kind of video with viewers who are already familiar with your channel and brand, and are here more for your personality than the replay content.
As a small channel you might not have enough dedicated fanbase for that yet, hence the current 138 view count. I would say, whether you do this or not depends on how much fun you're having casting the game, assuming you get nothing back in return. If you enjoy doing it then keep doing it. If you're looking to grow your viewership then there are probably other types of content that would be more effective for that role.
    * By content I mean specifically this kind of casting, not any casting in general. Because you are casting from a very humble perspective, viewers don't feel like they are being taught anything. Which is fine if you're leaning into the "let's hang out" format, but that requires some critical mass of parasocial following. The alternative is to have confident analysis despite being lower ELO. There's nothing wrong with a caster who is less skilled at playing. Professional casters usually aren't close in skill to professional players. If you're a good backseat gamer, you can be a good caster ;) You'll have to start saying stuff like "Player A is doing X, which should lead to result Y" with a lot more confidence. And if things don't go to your expectations, you would have to understand yourself where your prediction went wrong and address it. If you do that the viewer will learn and find the cast valuable.

Thanks - I thought you would reply on Steam so I didn't check here until now haha!
It's not natural for me to make assertions about things which I am not an expert on, so I guess that would not work for me.
I would enjoy very much if even a few people joined to "hang out", but not so much without that. I have heard horror stories of people talking to themselves for 3 years then giving up. I rather save myself the 3 years.
I am glad you didn't say that my cast was bad because it was awkward or I said dumb things. That alone is a confidence booster haha.
I might do more in the future, but, even the roughly 1000 subs I got from doing high-effort videos did not seem to translate into a casting audience, so, it's probable at this point that I'm not going to continue casting.
I greatly appreciate you taking the time to write this.

@@bennoloth Regarding casting: here's what I'd try as a last resort:
I haven't got a YT or Twitch audience myself so this is all just my speculation. I feel like the "let's hang out" format is probably easier to start on Twitch. If you get even a handful of people watching, they will likely comment and interact in real time, which is way more interesting than just another increment on the view count on a YT video.

@@bennoloth Other than casting though, I think a "let's hang out" video idea would be to do the AoM campaigns as a Let's Play. I feel like Let's Plays are more interesting as hangout content than your specific flavor of casting, but again that's just my speculation :P

@@lekhakaananta5864 Possibly true but the videos already exist for that, I am not adding anything to the world that TheViper didn't already a few days after game released. Thanks for your suggestion though. Going to just keep on making edited vids for now.

@@lekhakaananta5864 Yes, and I did stream the cast on Twitch at the same time. I got 0 viewers =)
There is no "algorithm" on Twitch putting lower-viewed streamers to the top so that's what I meant about talking to yourself. It's a pipe dream for anyone. If you have spare time it's certainly possible, but I am a bit lacking in that at the moment.
