Dear Magic. Quality content! Quick piece of advice. Don't mind repeating yourself at all. We, the AOM crowd, are old (by gamer standards). We have jobs, children, wives and other distractions. So, however much we want, we can't just jump onto games and grind your quality advice. Therefore, I, for one, welcome any repetition. I don't mind that you reference precious videos, just know, that you should never feel compelled to never repeat an insight. Like yeah, we should have learned about building placement by now, but we still get rolled over by that 1 freaking centaur every game. Thanks for the video.
Well said! And in regards to repeating yourself, I'd like to throw in some wise words my professor used to say: redundancy is the best friend of learning 😅🎉.
These are so valuable. Really great format to learn decision making and I also appreciate the insights into specific matchups that you are sprinkling in! Hope for many more of these 😊.
You make it look so easy! Great video, helps allot! Today I started with quick and rank matches. It get lost sometimes, what happens on the screen. Who are idle? Am I still building new military? What are the first 2 things "new" players should focus on. To get more grip on games.
Magic, I think this self analysis + the theorical videos like the one for building placement are the best combo for learning. At least for me they are.
@@arturhazel4568 Yeah this, plus ballistas are so slow that you essentially can't leave your base, if you leave and you get caught out and you lose your ballistas the game is over, cause you just wasted 430-860 res onto absolutely nothing
About repetition. I am a teacher and I can tell you: repetition is necessary, but if it becomes boring it can be counterproductive. This only happens if you repeat it more than 2 times in a single 15min video (YT case). Boredom comes in 2 ways: if your audience thinks you are being condescending to them; or if the information is so readily available (like if you repeat it several times) that people realize there is no need to memorize it because you will say it again later. So: keep a balance and repeat a little. Not repeating is as bad as doing it too much. I talk from experience.
No I mean, if you build the house before you research eyes, it’s not going to give the vision even once you research the tech. So you don’t need to build houses near forests until you actually get the tech.
Not 100% sure but I think this is wrong. As far as I remember it does apply to any house even the ones build prior to the "eyes in the forest" upgrade. But I could be wrong. Can anyone confirm this?
Why did you opt for going 2 TC instead of gold starve after winning a fight. Also, what would your gameplan in classical be on closed maps like alfheim where there is low possibility of raids?
What do y'all recommend against norse with Oranos? I always struggle because they're up in my face and I can't make a transition to farms because of the 150 wood. Other than that they have an army way faster to harass. Any tipps? I try to go 2nd tc so I can have the economy to actually defend myself. But man I I think it's so annoying I dont have access to Contarius and Arcus in age 2.
Don't go 2nd tc. As a Norse player I can say, when a uranos gets to greedy I can get easy favor by raiding and get greedy too after I just create raiding units.
i find it always fascinating how everyone is fixated on oranos as turma murmillo i always rush t3 with oranos and go Dryad Cont and while i still struggle with full toxote armys i get my 40 vill kills with raids and switch to Fanatics and Archers
@goochipoochie diversyfying my hunt and gold , 6 Hunters 1 in berries 1 in Chicken and Splitting the Hunters, using the Oranos Special building to hide my Hunters in never have more than 3 Hunters on 1 Spot. @@goochipoochie handful of katapeltes in your base, free slowed RC kill for each caladria you have, sky passages for your vills outside your base, what raids? playing oranos gives brainrot i think, they build walls with other gods but as soon as they play oranos they don't, just sky passages. walls aren't only to protect villagers, they determine your opponents army movement. even in this game, matador could have built tiny walls from his base manors to woodline, protecting his base gold and wood entirely. or at both gold mines, every fight magic came from both sides because his army was split from raiding. a wall from the palace to each treeline or the right side of the sky passage/gold mine from treeline to treeline would have prevented this. if magic wanted to commit, the oranos player would both have time to see the cavalry coming round to group and exit through the wall with no units lost if he thought he was going to lose or just go back and forth through gates with arcus shooting the entire time magics army would have to take the long route. instead he fights in the open with no natural or manmade barrier, flanked every time.

You kind of right...
I like these considerably more than the live commentary from AOM TH-camrs. Keep up the great content sir!
All your content has been super helpful. Keep it up bro!
I am also a large fan of the commentary! It explains a lot of things I would never think of or know otherwise.

Agree. Best format ❤
These videos are the best you can get. Thank you for the effort Magic

Appreciate it!

As many have said, this is quality content! Thx Magic!
Glad you enjoy it!
Wake up babe new Magic banger dropped!
An exceptional video with very valuable content! Great info!

Loved the video, thank you
Oranos vs Norse is the match up that I struggle the most
Katapeltes and Ballistas feel like the only thing that works vs Norse in classical
Ballistas are holding you back - just too expensive.

This is really good video.
Could you make the reverse matchup, please? So we know how it works when you're in the other side
Or what do you think he should've done to beat you there?
He could have responded to raids a bit better and have his central Turma army poking around in my base, also he needs to hit a nice age 3 timing

Great video! Any gameplays and advices with Thor soon??
Thor will probably get nerfed in the next patch, might not play him much right now
My favourite 2 civs!
eyes of the forest only applies to houses built after you research it
😮
yep, but gotta start prepping early

It’s less risky to take a tc I think, if I fight and I lose a battle than the game is even again

Mix it up with units to defend before getting greedy
