    Very helpful video. Firestone was going to charge me 600$ to replace my pressure gauge because they said they'd have to drop the gas tank. Turns out I could reach it just fine without dropping the tank. Went out and bought the part and followed along to this video. Thanks for saving me 600$

    Nice angle with the camera. Helpful and quick fix, when I do mine I will stick a vacuum up there, looks like you knocked some of that dirt in your hole.

    Going through evap hell myself now with my 09 LS Silverado 1500 rust bucket. It’s rotting out from under me. May not pass next inspection. Shock mounts rotted and bed rails underneath one is gone. Rear cross member near bumper almost all gone. Sad. Replaced the vent solenoid and light was off for three days then came back on with same code and this 452. Gas gauge broken as well. I’ve had it.

    I did mine without dropping the tank at all but I have a long reach. I also used an air compressor to blow the dust off first and added pure silicone grease to the rubber seal.

    • @Deltaconcepts
      @Deltaconcepts 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I am going to blow it off too. Good idea and with the silicone lube.

    I watched this then went to my truck and easily reached in from the fender side and pulled it out. Didn't have to loosen straps or anything.

    After watching this video, I went and got a new sensor for my own 09 1500 5.3L extended cab. I used my phone to take some pictures above the gas tank so i could see where the sensor was at and saw that two of the wires on the cable that plugs into the sensor itself had been chewed my mice. Wasted 93 bucks on a new sensor because the only one they had in store was the most expensive (of course) and now gotta return it. The truck had been sitting in my grandpa's driveway for about two years, probably only being driven once or twice. I got the truck after he passed, and in that time, mice had found their way into a small area next to the fuel tank and apparently thought those two wires were in the way. Super annoying.

    Before you pulled the sensor out you should of had blow away all the dirt and crap from the top of the tank so you don't end up plugging the new one with all that junk.

    Why not just approximate Location cut a small hole in the truck bed going through the top, replacing the part and then just patch the hole you cut? Too lazy maybe?
