- In this video i show you how to upgrade this Hewlett Packard HP 15s (15 s) Series Laptop with AMD Ryzen 5 3500U from 2020 mit more memory/ram, how to replace the SSD or the battery and many more. In this model i used the type: 15s-eq0355ng, maybe other models of the series are little bit different.
I show you:
how to upgrade the ram (in this model standard is 2x4GB DDR4 2666V)
In the video i upgrade with 2x8GB DDR4 Crucial 2666V RAM to 16GB.
For most of this series its possible to upgrade up to 64GB (with 2 x 32GB DDR4 RAM)
replace the ssd (solid state disk), in this model 512GB 512 GB PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD. In this model you cant insert a second harddisc with 2,5" SATA because of the bottom cover and it comes without any sata cable.

You cant replace the CPU or graphic CPU vega 8
how to replace the battery (accu) in this model the type is HT03XL
a view at the palmrest/case cover with the keyboard
how to replace the cpu fan / cooling fan.

Thanks so much for this. My family was planning on buying a laptop and left me in charge on what it would be. I saw this one in some stores and it caught my attention coz it came with 8gb of ram and a decent APU. I'm picky when it comes to computers especially for laptops coz the manufacturers are making anti-consumer designs (i.e. soldering the ram on the board and when said ram breaks the whole thing is done) basically not modular anymore. It's good to know that some consumer grade laptops such as the one in the video has removable memory sticks. I am now more confident in getting this model from HP. Cheers!
do not buy this laptop i bought one paid 1500 austrailan dollar and it died after 2 years the chinese guy at my local computer shop said the motherboard died it only had 1 year warranty and apparently its a common issue

@@rayr303 Got a customer here who had shut off issues due to overheating. It was Kaspersky taking all power from the CPU and overheating. Uninstalled Kaspersky and it runs fine again. She has had it for a year or two now. No issues.
Is Kaspersky automatically installed?
@@dogdoge9938Hey. It may depend even from a shop where you buy. Usually it comes with mcAfee trial given by HP themselves.

Vielen Dank für das Video, ich hatte an der richtigen Stelle probiert das Gerät zu öffnen was aber nicht klappte. Der Tipp mit einer alten EC/Vers. Karte hat geholfen, 1 Karte ist sogar eingerissen, aber ich habe den Laptop nach über 1 Stunde endlich geöffnet bekommen. Die installation der zusätzlichen 8GB RAM war dann schnell erledigt, die neuen 8GB werden problemlos erkannt und das zusammenabuen ging in wenigen Sekunden. Danke für den Tipp, auf dem offiziellen Video sah das so leicht aus, aber so einfach ist das doch nicht.
Thanks for posting. I've just bought a new HP 15s-EQ2036 laptop. I would like to upgrade both the SSD and RAM in my laptop but I don't feel confident enough to remove the bottom cover. My last HP laptop was old anyway but when the hard drive failed recently I bought a SSD and removed the bottom cover but must have snapped something as I couldn't get it back in place properly. I had to do exactly what you have done here, using a plastic card to remove the bottom cover. I wish HP would just design a laptop where removing the bottom cover is as simple as removing the screws and simply lifing the bottom cover away.
I have 15s-eq2037nv .. it seems like you have been using the laptop way more than me,how was your experience? Any down sides of this laptop?
@@SubhanAli-rr2no It's an excellent laptop. It worked well enough before I upgraded it, with extra RAM and a larger capacity SSD, it's still working great.

Question here if I may, If you only upgrade the RAM, do you need to reinstall windows or do any installation apart from changing the physical parts? Thanks!
Answer to your question, no, you don't need to reinstall your OS after a part swap, as far as I'm aware for Windows 10/11. The system (as long as it can take said amount of RAM) should be just fine.

danke, zum glück kein onbaord ram. leider wohl kein platz/anschluss für 2,5" intern Sata/Harddisk. wozu kann der freie weisse kabelport neben dem breiten schrägen flachkabel am akku sein? würde in den wlan slot eine kurze zweite M2 SSD passen?

Thank you. I watched this video to check if a laptop that's on sale right now still has swappable memory dimms. It has. I can sleep a little better knowing it's not all soldered down yet. I don't even need the laptop by the way, I just want repairability/upgradablity to continue to exist :)

7:46 you didn't explain this blank space beside battery, in this place you can install a sata hdd/ssd with mounting brackets & hdd flex cable.

Hi alex im hoping you can help me with my problem. By the way it is same brand and model. I already replace the defective SSD card 5 months ago and then yesterday the problem again in my laptop appears again. Same notification appears on the screen about the previous issue of my laptop. Do you think what is the common cause? Or what should i trouble shoot next? The SSD card is brandnew and compatible with my laptop.

There are 2 free connectors but I am not sure which one is for sata. I saw some connectors which comes with 8 pins which we have on this motherboard next to the sd reader. I also want to know it can be work or not coz my m.2 slot died.

My laptop model is Hp 15s eq2037nv with storage of 256 gb.. now I am short of storage and my laptop needs to have large storage to process and function properly..so how can i do that? i have licenced registered window 11 installed on my system and it works fine.. what if i decide to upgrade my storage, will my this licenced window 11 can be restore in a new drive? i don't want to lose the genuine window 11 as well as sealed pack, so that's why im asking you to give me proper and by which i can save my window 11 while upgrading storage.. There could be a white list in the bios. I will try a WISE TIGER AX210NGW the next days. but im not that confident from what i have read.

Carefully remove with the glue and back at the bottom, i have also a very thin and small double stick tape in my office.....
You have not shown COMS battery.... Power connections etc. Let me understand if you know what is the reason my HP laptop not starting, only orange light blinking , when battery is removed white light coming but in both the cases system not at all starting

So mine expirience is: power-cable been sticked to fan corpus, and if i toutch the bottom of laptop in fan zone too mutch - that mb couse some truble with cable in future, nicely manufactured pice of tehnology. Thank you, i stick it in normal place

Hello, i replaced my ram with a single stick of crucial, same speed, compatible according to Crucial but now the laptop won't start. It gives a single light flash but doesn't start. I removed the ram and installed the original and same thing. I removed the battery, held power button down for 30 sec/1min but still no boot. What can I do? I have a HP 15s-eq1018nl

gutes Video! Ich selber habe ein 15s eq 5700u HP Laptop und würde da gerne eine egpu anschließen. Welcher slot ist da am besten für geeignet ? der Mpcie slot vom wlan oder der m2 slot der ssd ? und wenn der m2 slot besser ist für die egpu kann ich die m2 ssd mit ein adapter wieder benutzen am mpcie slot ? wlan würd ich mir dann per usb besorgen.
