I’m assuming the fountain in Mad Monster Mansion damages you if you touch the bottom because of the vines. It would also make sense, as if you try to walk along the walls in Mad Monster Mansion, you take damage, from the vines and thorns on them.
Well... about this 6:53, can you see that big white circles in the green water? maybe that means something, because they cant be a water reflection of some lights
