Honorable mention: when you were playing with a REALLY scratched Wii disc and the console made that god awful noise that sounds like a heart monitor flatline
Ah yeah, that one - yikes. I had a Wii growing up. It never made that noise with me, but I've gotten "disk can't be read" errors on terribly scratched disks.
Nothin like playing Mario Kart, then EEEEEEEEE
I don't think I've heard this one, and now I'm really curious..
@@jadeaavia One time I destroyed just one block of glass in a Super Mario-textured Minecraft world on a Wii U, then it crashed.
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Fun fact about the Sega CD: it was reported that continuously listening to the eerie audio would actually damage your player's speakers, due to the harsh guitar rifts.
No it was actually because the first track had game data and if you played it, it would damage your speakers.

The true anxiety in these errors is the fact that you don't know if your console is broken or not, but let's be real, the hardest times we went through our childhood is our consoles breaking.
I literally thought my wii broke because my wii couldn’t recognize my awfully scratched mario kart wii disk, made me abandon it for 4 years only to find it again and try to play it, before realizing that this situation made my wii collect dust for so long it no longer worked. I still have fears of going in to the room where the wii used to be because of that one time. And i have broken 2 computers and 1 ipad since. Ouch.
On christmas my family got me a Wii U, but the gamepad was faulty and would randomly disconnect all the time. We had to get a refund and get another one. Overall not too bad, service was rather fast, but it sucks having no console for the week, just as you were starting to get excited
or a cat thats been with you since you were 4 passing away
The most 2 scary errors I had was on my ps4 and ps5 the first was my ps4 overheating and the second was my ps5 repairing system storage it happened the second time yesterday and my ps4 only overheated once for now
for me the most uncanny one was the sega cd error because there is just something unsettling about video games/consoles telling you to turn it off immediately
That gets me too
its🔥
Sonic: hey buddy! This is a sega dreamcast disc, not a music cd! Track 1 contains confidential information and if you play them, Eggman might get them! So save us the hassle and put us back in the sega Dreamcrast!
And those loud guitar riffs can damage the cd
@@thetickler85 That would have been really kewl
If I’m correct, if on the og 360, and you see all quarters of the circle ⭕️ red, it means you haven’t plugged in the av cable. Imagine all the people freaking out at the full ring not knowing that they didn’t plug in their console
10:03 Not all variations of RROD rings mean that the console had reached the end of it's life. 2 rings would only mean that the console was overheating and needed to cool down. 4 rings was the best type of RROD you could encounter, and it meant you forgot to plug the video cables in. Hope this is helpful.
3 rings was the only real "oh shit" moment
but if you were really unlucky...4 rings would mean your console is so messed up it cannot boot or do anything forever again
@@user-nl7oc7lp9z wrong, 4 rings was actually the least serious issue out of all of them. 3 rings was the one that meant the console was completely done for.
i got that info from a youtube vid so i was expecting that guy to be saying a lie but im dumb so i posted that reply anyway
but if a serious error is detected the xbox 360 will not detect your av cable and give 4 rings, so im not totally wrong
As a kid who had a pirated Playstation, it was a economic relief.
But it wasn't so much for me. Game discs were labed something as close to what a creepypasta can with badly written names in English I couldn't understood.
Sometimes they could or not work and that bloody Bios screen always scared me, it looked like alien diahrrea and a secret menu that wasn't very pleasing in the eyes.
So I always stuck with good ol' Crash games. Crash Bash had a weird screen to select region: NTSC or PAL a weird music and a monochrome background.
Crash 1 and 2 were normal. But bloody Crash 3, upon starting it showed a text in Japanese, a circle in red and a black background. No music, nothing. Game never started.
After that, I was scared of even touching the console. Got rid of the old Crash 3 disc and bought the right NTSC copy that worked perfectly.
That was the "console may have been modified" error, it's meant to stop piracy but since you were playing a game that was not for your console's region it probably thought that you pirated the game
@@pablosolermontano3872 Yeah, at that time I was completely clueless about regional differences

Ps1 fearful harmony explained (from my poor knowledge); the Fearful harmony (Im gonna call it FH) is caused by the system not being able to read a disk in time or properly, thus slowing down the system, as it tries and tries, it keeps on failing, and since it keeps trying, it is lagging out the system, the audio is also lagging, creating FH, it can be caused by a few things, the most notable being damaged/pirated/incorrect (improper region, format, or if it’s supposed to be used in a different system) disks, and no, it’s not an anti-piracy method, so if I got anything wrong, feel free to correct me
the fh noise is the sound of when the game is about to play but extremely slowed down
Honestly, Fearful Harmony sounds peaceful to me
Fearful harmony is when you put an unknown format disk in a modchipped console
Sounds like wind chimes ngl. Harmless to my ears but ominous during a thunderstorm. Though to be fair, an error would be kinda like a thunderstorm
The creepiness from these is mostly from the fact that we experienced these errors at night where, as a child, we spent most of our time playing games. It was just us, the late night crickets, and nothing else but the brightness of our CRT TVs. Those were great, and sometimes eerie, times.
8:42 oh, you didnt connect the gameboy player?
*drops a whole fucking piano on your head*
The fact some of these are not seen in BK4's videos is amazing!!
17:13 No joke, I would have ended up smashing my entire setup in fear over that kind of noise.
If I unexpectedly heard that, I would jump.
The sounds before sound like the unused minecraft cave chimes don't they?
In my opinion, none of these were really scary, or even creepy. They'd really only be creepy if the person seeing them were young and in the dark. Leaving and coming back to a different soundtrack wouldn't really be all that creepy either, maybe a bit if you didn't know that song or those sounds were in the Xbox, but the fear would quickly leave. The RRoD wouldn't be scary or creepy at all, more angering and/or frustrating. And "Personified Fear" is just the PS1 startup sound played in reverse. The creepiest in my opinion is the Jaguar Red Screen just because it flashed red more suddenly than the other RS entries, didn't have any error text and left you on a black screen with no sound. But that'd just be a four if you ask me.
The best console error that's actually scary, as others have stated, is the Wii error. It occurs mid-game, not when you start the console and plays a long, shrill sound which will definitely startle you since you were focused on the game, not the console.
Yeh ….
14:04 the sounds that play for the Xbox here are actually an Easter egg. Microsoft took clips of astronauts in space to make the console sound futuristic and spacey, which is the theme of the animation that will play when starting the Xbox! :)
Sounded like the voice synth from qbert when I heard it. Pretty cool that they added that ngl.
Yeah he explained that
As a kid i would play the start up menu to animal crossing wild world next to my bed to fall asleep to. Imagine the fear i felt when in my sleep my game froze and did that gad awful “REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE” noise and woke me up
that awful “REEEEEEEEEE” noise when a game freezes was awful
the gamecube error is just literally piano notes and texts, and it somehow traumatized me for years
Why they gotta make these errors so creepy. Just earlier today, I was playing my Nintendo Switch when the game froze. A second or so later, it went to a black screen with white text saying:
*_An error has occurred. Please press the POWER button to restart the console. If you are unable to restart the console, hold the POWER button for 12 seconds to turn the console off._*
It was quite unsettling.
When I was maybe 8 years old, I remember waking up to hearing Xbox ambient noises(after leaving it on too long) and being too scared to move. I finally gathered enough baby courage to launch myself across the living room to turn it off it was almost worse because nothing is louder for a child than pitch black, open, and empty room... I ran the fastest I could, while in tears and it was from *nothing*.
It makes me laugh at myself now, but I promise you that those lil noises still remind me of that one night lol.
10:40 he has an HDMI error, the RROD is 3 lights.
RROD's, failing lasers are the real fear I had as a kid. I'd put them higher on the list tbh. XD
The fact that PlayStation had that many placements shows how messed up it can be
The Sega CD warning is very thought about. The woman speak in a quite scary way, and that guitar riff just makes you press the pause button.
I miss being 10 years old and feeling the youth and joy. But now I'm 20 and playing games and what not hasn't felt like it used to. Man I'm getting old
my dad is 48...
You're still a child dude, 20 is young
20 is not a child@@yotetoob
And as you get older and older you'll lose more and more joy throughout the years, mine got noticeable in my mid 30s. Just hold on to what you've got while you've got it .
Love the newer content! Definitely a good branching out from your previous videos
I love how the regular jingle for the Jaguar is basically just the “Have you played Atari today?” jingle from the 80s, such a nice meta touch.
Hahaha the Sega CD one just sounds like theres a dude in the background ripping an acid rock solo 🤘🤪
There was this rumor floating around a couple years back that the Red Screen of Death on the PS2 could actually brick your whole console
I remember falling for that, until I recently learned more about it
Edit: To be honest I actually put a Wii disk into my PlayStation 2 to try and get it to happen, but I don't know if I didn't have the right model of PlayStation 2 or what, because all my console did was show me "Disk Could Not Be Read" in front of the Browser menu (but still, now that I know it won't brick my system, I do kinda want to see it on the actual hardware)
bro ps2 RSoD looks like that one anti-piracy screen
Can you elaborate?
I have to give fearful harmony a 1-10 for how relaxing it is
Its not the sound thats scary its the screen its self
@@blueytj8954Other people who got it had their screen fill up entirely with corruptions as it progresses.
@@Stonex180 that’s why it’s so terrifying
Uhh to me it sounds like speed up minecrsft cave chimes an unused sound
Never heard those warnings with Sega CD games, though I have with Dreamcast.
Also I think "Fearful Harmony" would make a good theme for a horror game where you're walking around a rundown Shinto shrine in the dark.
PAL Ur right, this should be like *"u walked on a possesed consolé, the Spirit is tring to make u feel nightmares, and them kill u"*
Why did Nintendo think that damning a piano would be good for an error💀
3:55 Mostly for me I'm not scared of it because I had it multiple times ever since I had my first PS2 (normally CD malfunction)
I remember the Gamecube little girl laugh. If you hold the Z button down and turn on the console you get a creepy little girl giggling. It scared the crap out of me, because I was expecting the normal start up sound, but the Z button was damaged and I didn't know about the giggling little girl. It still gives me chills just thinking about it!!!
I looked it up and it wasn’t as scary as I thought it would be.
@@awobbles9404 It's scary as hell when you don't expect it though lol!
thats just an easter egg you can get another one by pressing z on 4 connected controllers and turning the console on
They werent creepy honestly, only fearful harmony, but what really scared me when i was a kid was the troubleshooting Wii error, mostly because i used to be scared of the LG screen without any signal
For me it was annoying not scary, only when it was dark and didn't expect it
same, it was bc i had the tv that just said [NO SIGNAL] teleporting around the screen instead of the rotating cube with the lg logo
actually if you insert a xbox og or 360 disc on a ps2, it will play a little video saying something like "you put the right game on the wrong console"
Correct!
on build v1.983738477 i think. i decompiled it many times and v1.983738477 on gen 1 had the video
Linkie?
The Future for the OG Xbox is actually extremely common audio and is not an error at all. I even tested it with my 4 OG Xboxes and got it within 5 minutes on all 4 of them. In fact one of them got it immediately upon startup. 1/10 scare factor

The PS2 screen of death, while unsettling in retrospect, had mentally scarred me when it was the most recent console, making me rapidly putting the PS1/2 disc into the tray, then reset the console to make sure it wouldn't "time up" and drop to the main menu in CASE the Red Screen would occur
You guys never had that scary random loud crash from little big planet karting when you're trying to creating a track
Just realized the thumbnail is the final boss from PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. Such an underrated fighting game.
Ahh yes the polygon man playstation's failed mascot and a terrible final boss for that game
@@michaelpopowich5095do u mean scares
For me, the PS1 red screen is the least creepiest for me, the console is basically saying, “hey that disc don’t work, please try another disc so we can continue playing!” But the ps2 on the other hand is like “HEY YOU CAN’T USE THAT DISC IN HERE! CHANGE IT RIGHT NOW!”
That demanding message is not just the PS2, but mainly the Sega CD Error
21:41
I remember hearing this from another video (although I could be wrong so don't take this as 100% fact) but I'm pretty sure it's the loud unsettling guitar rifts that ended up damaging CD players instead of the CD Roms.
(Also imagine trying to play Sonic CD on a CD player and then hearing this.)
(Yikes.)
Yeah, the sheer unpredictably of what could happen when the CD player tries to play the data was the scary part. Sometimes it was just some scratchiness, sometimes the squeal could blow out your speakers if they were turned up loudly. You could never tell with some games.
Coincidentally, original Xbox discs have a DVD video track that plays in any DVD player (including PS2s), so in that case, the RSOD wouldn't occur. It would occur with things like PC discs, imports, or unrecognizably dirty discs.
That being said, the PS2 red screen probably was the culprit of my first ever heart attack, back when I was 8.
honestly people are overreacting on personified fear like it's just a weird startup glitch what's actually scary is the fearful and dreadful harmony glitches if your talking about the ps1
edit: yeah its scary if it's like night time and that black screen happens except of the game but like on its own the harmonies are definitely worse
When you are up alone in the middle of the night in your room with the lights off, these errors are 100x more scary
I really like the Sega discs warning messages. It’s cool that the 1st party Sega games on Dreamcast started having unique warning messages for certain games
would love to see more creepy videos like this
Personified Fear wasnt even slightly scary 💀
Because the volume was low and this variant wasn't scary wait till you witnessed it shuts scary especially when it comes from nowhere and it's loud ash and the sounds of the glass and bell omg
For the PlayStation 1 - fearful harmony ( 16:51 ) it seemed more like a glitch as the console might still be trying to use the disc you entered and it’s just a glitch with distorted sound , I think this as the PlayStation logo kept glitching behind and in front of the orange diamond and the logos are all messed up. But that’s what I think, I do not work with Sony or anything like that, it’s just my opinion.
The PS2 Red Screen Of Death may appear, if you have a scratched disc which won't have the normal "Disc cannot be read" screen or smth. My PlayStation 2 always pretended to start Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2 and instead of starting or returning to the PS2 main menu, the red screen of death appears
26:33 years later, there’s an easy fix for the red ring of death, but it is kind of scary though
I was about to ask you but than I pressed the time stamp and realized you were joking
The Xbox’s “Out Of World” Music Is Not An Error And Not Scary, Next Time Make Sure REAL CONSOLE ERRORS Goes On The List. Time Stamp: 14:04
Ok who died and made you king technicality
Man really ranked my Childhood Nightmare Paralysis demon (I literally had nightmares about the PS2 RSoD where I felt myself freeze up and couldn't move or yell) a 1/10.☠
Ah, can’t wait to get red ringed on my Xbox that I’m getting next week
Heck Im honestly still scarred for life from the ps2 startup sound and not just the Red screen of death on it. Whenever I started up the ps2, it was set up in the basement and I would run back upstairs and then go back down when it was on. I definitely made sure after the first time to keep the lights on.
Woah, the PS2 sounds along with the ominous silence made me shiver as a kid but woah, I didn't know they could scare someone THIS much
The PS1 RSoD only works for models SCPH-10x. If you try to do the same method in models SCPH-100x-900x, you will get a blue screen that reads "Please Insert Playstation CD-ROM"
I remember as a kid that when I got the red ring of death on the 360 I was scared as hell that I broke it cuz I played it like 24/7 💀💀 but still it gave me PTSD
please make more of these
Lmao, the audio repeating at the end caught me as I was looking down at my phone and looking up to see the xenomorph made the back of my neck tingle harshly XD
This video was certainly golden for me. Some of these I already know but remember when I was a kid and got an rrod! I was so scared and now when I look back at it made me realize that it’s not the only scary Xbox error . But eh keep making these vids!

Bel video ❤
The Playstation 2 Red Screen of Death can also happen when a PS2 game disc has been scratched up pretty bad, not just exclusive to a foreign disc

The PS2 error screen is really eerie, when compared to the first system, especially with the unsettling music. I had a modded playstation up until recently, and other than the eject button being broken, there didn't seem to be any differences with the startup screen, but it was able to play all regions no problem, until recently when the whole spindle came out so it had to be replaced.
I listened to all the sounds on your video. How soon do I feel the fear? It does not seem to be immediate. Is it usually slow? 🤭
Its more when you don't expect it. It's more haunting when you're a child
Did you forget kill screen in Original Xbox.
I haven't watched it all yet
Which scared the shit of me as a kid was just the original Xbox menu dashboard in general I don’t know why it scared me. The fact that it was dark green and it had samples from an Apollo mission and they were sounded like distorted or something probably scared me I don’t really know, I just remember being really scared of it as a kid game. I was really scared of playing as a kid honestly
One other thing they keep in mind is that I was six years old at the time I played the original Xbox I mostly played Namco museum and Star Wars at the time and that’s it.
As someone who’s a PS2 speedrunner, I have never once seen the red screen of death. Guess it’s time to test it out tonight
The sounds are creepy for sure but not too scary to me. What irritates me more than scares me are the Yellow Light of Deaths from the PS3 systems. I've had 1 YLOD over a decade ago and just had a backwards compatible E01 model get the yellow light back in late 2021. What sucks about that compared to the Xbox 360's RROD? Unlike those external or internal HDD's or memory cards that you could transfer to another 360, the PS3's HDD is encrypted to the system it was used on and is NON-transferrable to another PS3 or a PC. I even got 2 of the same E01 models and tried swapping the drive from my YLOD one to the working one but unfortunately, it doesn't work.. through normal means anyway cause the PS3 will check the drive then ask for you to format it to have it encrypted with its own numbers.
What's the requirements for a YLOD to occur?
as a kid, late afternoon, it's dark and I am alone in the room.. personified fear and harmony errors happened to me.. I had nightmares about until I was 21 years old until in a dream I have destroyed the playstation when it played the error and ever since I am not scared and never had nightmares about it anymore. it sounds weird but somehow I could control my self in the dream to do that.
Controlling yourself in your dream
It's actually got a name, lucid dreaming
I think the ps2 startup is crepier then its RSOD screen.
My guy, I love you branching out into new content. But starting off this list with 4 different red screens killed any and all momentum in the pacing of the video, on top of not being very haunting.
I mean nearly 40% of this video was not scary screens telling you that you put in the wrong disk into your console.
Love yah, have my likes and engagement.
"Unsettling, frightening" 1/10, apparently.
The only thing to freak me out as a young kid was in odd world when you use the speak option on the main menu and use a paramite they hiss through a human hand for a face/mandibles.
Scared the crap out of me
Well I think I just found the perfect sound for when your having an anxiety attack in a horror game
Fearful Harmony - PS 1
The Fearful Harmony sounds amazing actually
The actual result of an Xbox Disc in a PlayStation 2 is that it shows its own little screen.
Also, the disc technically boots in DVD player mode

I was always petrified of the red ps2 screen
10:36 this short clip with the full ring means the AV cable is not plugged in
PS2 red screen is still to this day chilling!
All the Playstations I've had over the years I've never seen that "Red Screen"

personified fear always traumatised me as a kid lmao
You can call me a psychopath all you want but I really don't get what's so frightening
I'd actually say the Sega CD Error is the most unsettling, but even than all it gets out of me is small shivers
My uncle and aunt went on vacation and the ps3 hibernation light 🚨 burnt through the hdd
Can you elaborate? I'm pretty sure powering an LED doesn't "burn through the HDD" as electrical heat increase is too low.
@@soupcangaming662 they went away for 2 months and left there ps4 in standby mode so the red light is on, it was the original ps3 when First release, (I understand how it wouldn't be hot enough it's just what they told me)
I'm going to message them and find out because Im not even sure the light would be near the hdd(it's not like them to lie though)
Ok I talk to them they have no memory of it I looked at ps3 the lift is on side so could be in sight of hdd but yeah they don't remember so take everything with pinch of salt
I love how the red ring of death is actually 4 errors in one. Red ring of death is so awesome.
I DONT GET SCARED ONE OF THEM I JUST LOVED BECAUSE OF THE MUSIC!
My Xbox One (original) decided to spin the disc at such a high rpm that it sounded like a game crashing, it terrified me. And when my Xbox 360 (slim) red ringed after connecting to wifi scared me, but I got to it's wireless adapter wasn't connected properly. I reseated it and it stopped. And when my Xbox 360 (slim) overheated, the fan went loud and that really scared me.
who the fuck approved of those xbox sounds
how did nobody listen to them and go "these sound like horror game noises not game console ambience"
12:51 i am wearing headphones, the 1st ambient sound went like a in the path of a ring on my ears
I’m watching this alone at night and I barely made it! Lol
I’m watching this alone in the daytime and I’m barely making it-
I remember PS2 red screen of death but I wouldn't call it a red screen of death more like a red screen of nuisance. Especially when I try to use the codebreaker and gameshark discs to load sometimes. Yeah ! I used a lot of cheat codes back then it was fun🤣
The only error I didn’t know about is the emulator version
