It's interesting to see how soft Nintendo was in the late 90s before getting as big as they are today - especially given the adult promotion. Pretty good video, honestly. Say, what's the song @ 1:37? I've been looking for this one for weeks whenever I hear it.
When I think of Nintendo, I think of a bunch of angry old men that have tantos on their walls for once they realize they can’t stop people from making nsfw stuff with their characters, but samurai swords when people make games inspired by them or mod their characters into other people’s games.
If you played it when it launched, the references were super on-point and relevant. It may feel dated now, but it was incredible when it dropped. Loved this game.
12:27 If Conker was to make a return, his game would probably be DRASTICALLY different from Bad Fur Day. Because honestly speaking, a game like that just could not be made today. It could either be a colorful platformer or an M-rated pop culture satire filled with dark humor, but not both.🤔
Without Conker, there would be no Smash Bros sequels, no Metroid Prime, no Odama, no Eternal Darkness, no Geist, no Xenoblade, no Bayonetta sequels, and even no Splatoon! No More Heroes would not exist either. ALL because Nintendo would never be confident enough to release M-Rated games on their own, without the underground success of Conker's Bad Fur Day. Conker's success shown Nintendo that there are adults that love their games as well. Oh, yeah, I forgot, without Conker, Nintendo would actually be out of the console market by the sixth console Generation. N64 would've been their last system EVER, if it wasn't for Conker.
I have an N64 emulator with basically every game on it, and Conker's is the best one. Can confirm. The cut scene with the broom and the paint bucket and brush still gives me the LoLiosis to this day. What a fun and interesting game.
I highly doubt Conker was influential AT ALL in their current success. Hell! They’re still the weak little sister in the trifecta of console gaming. Conker sold poorly while Nintendo had the rights. How the hell does a poorly selling game promote a game company? Especially after said game is completely disassociated from said company? You have absolutely no clue what you’re talking about
@@MaxPower-ke5rq Like I said, UNDERGROUND SUCCESS. Conker didn't sell well, in the MAINSTREAM. However, like the LEGO games, Oddworld, the resurrected Crash Bandicoot and Spyro games, and Yooka-Laylee to a lesser extent; Conker's Bad Fur Day had a cult following of former children who played those games (17 years old, which is the required age for Conker's Bad Fur Day, is still a child) that grew up, and either purchased them or emulated them.
My brother loved this game. I was lukewarm to it, but I applauded the kinds of bold creative risks they took in such a family friendly environment. I couldn’t believe the type of stuff they were referencing. Saving Private Ryan. The Matrix. A Clockwork Orange. Jaws. Aliens.
Thanks for covering one of my all time favourite games! It’s such a miracle that BFD even exists, considering how absurd the game is lol. And I love every bit of it! The very best of Rare, and I hope we’ll one day see more of Conker in a proper sequel. I wonder if BFD had anything to do with the fact that Nintendo was so willing to sell Rare to Micro$oft…? Maybe they thought that Rare had gone feral now and had to get rid off lol.
The last time I played this game was back in my high school days and me and a few other friends were playing it. And a buddy of mine had a yellow gold Cardridge of the game.
This was one of the best games of my childhood. My cousins and I would spend countless hours not only beating the game, but running around in multiplayer, peeing on each other in the bathrooms, spraying each other everywhere with RPG guns. I even remember cheats for that damn game. :'D Like Billymillroundabout. LMAO. I'm so dead.
Best game in Nintendo. Such amazing memories playing this with my three brothers as kids. Life was tough as a kid but when we got to turn on conkers, it was great.
The multi-player on Nintendo 64 will always be a favorite of mine. From the D- day fighting squirrels vs. Teddy's. To running from raptors with an egg to cook. This game is hands down the best with comedy gold.
It’s one of their best releases from the last 30 years. Top ten title IMO. This game was a masterpiece made for older siblings and parents to play, after kiddo goes to bed on their birthday after playing Mario Party for six hours straight. This game is and was one of the best, most aggressive non-console (game related) moved Nintendo ever made. Well done. They should do it again.
N64 will forever be the best. I had that system the shortest amount of time of any and yet I still remember more about the n64 games I played than anything after.
Man ohh man was this game fun. The split screen had like 6 different game modes and they were all really fun. I wish someone would do a remake of this gem.

Those are something your parents use when they don't wanna have a baby. The man puts it on during sussy time.
Props for the super meat boy reference and the sountracks used
Without Conker, there would be no Smash Bros sequels, no Metroid Prime, no Odama, no Eternal Darkness, no Geist, no Xenoblade, no Bayonetta sequels, and even no Splatoon!
Jaws. Aliens.
Vividly remember seeing this on the Blockbuster shelves, never rented it and had no idea it was like this til now.
I loved conkers bad fur day! A milestone in my life I’ll never forget.
this game had the BIGGEST banger in N64 history - rock solid. the only song that came close to this was the 2nd credits song on GTA 3.
that is one sick and very sick SICK Drunkin Squirrel Mate.
Beautiful game. I spent so many hours playing Conker's Bad Fur Day, especially with my little brother.
Your use of the meme at 11:48 was golden! 😆
I remember getting that on my b-day back in the day. A smoked so much weed playing that.
Absolutely loved this game growing up. Reloaded was amazing as well.
Got it on the 64 since childhood, absolute banger, and multi was so fun with the homies back then. Play the story every couple years, so funny.
This was one of the best games of my childhood. My cousins and I would spend countless hours not only beating the game, but running around in multiplayer, peeing on each other in the bathrooms, spraying each other everywhere with RPG guns. I even remember cheats for that damn game. :'D
Like Billymillroundabout. LMAO. I'm so dead.
That's why this is one of the last games released on the 64 before the Game Cube come out.
I loved this game. Haven’t thought about it in years.
Go figure Nincompoop Nintendo is ashamed of a game that to this day is still comedic gold and has aged better than the finest wine.
I loved this game from story mode to multiplayer… that capture the flag was so fun
The multiplayer from the original and the Xbox port are vastly different. N64 multiplayer had so many modes that were all really fun
This was one of my all time favorite games as a kid!!
Thank you Rare!!!
I halfway remember this game from a sleepover I had with a few friends from my Scout troop when I was a kid, I felt so guilty for participating.
Remember watching that Saving Private Ryan parody on ebaums or one of those sites as a kid. It was definitely wild to see back then
It’s one of their best releases from the last 30 years.
This game was so fun, especially the four-player split-screen. It was Call of Duty before online multiplayer was a thing.
N64 will forever be the best. I had that system the shortest amount of time of any and yet I still remember more about the n64 games I played than anything after.
We need a movie base on this game!
One of my favorite 64 games of all time.
He and Banjo was my favorite in Diddy Kong racing for the N64
Man ohh man was this game fun. The split screen had like 6 different game modes and they were all really fun. I wish someone would do a remake of this gem.
I was obsessed with this game when it came out
