Thanks, and thank you for acknowledging that we're all learning new things, constantly. Growth mindset is the key to everything, I've found, over the years. I look forward to learning as much as possible, along with you, over the coming years. I've just added 20 more shrimp to my community tank, I'm contemplating having a shrimp only tank, looking after these little guys is just about as Zen as it gets. ❤

Hey. Thank you for your kind feedback. I too consider myself to have a growth mindset. There is little I enjoy more than discovering something new that actually makes my hobby better.
My goal with this channel is to share my experiences and successes, but also to share my failures. Hopefully, this way those newer to the hobby will see it’s ok if things don’t go perfectly every time, providing we learn from our mistakes.
      Have a great day 🫶🏻

I actually just received a glass dish and tube set from Amazon two days ago and I am loving it. It is going to save me from a lot of mess and hassle. I give my shrimp some sinking pellets and also some algae wafers that tend to want to float on the water for several minutes before Sinking. With this new tube and dish setup I can put half a wafer in the top of the tube and after a few minutes it will drop down on its own perfectly into the dish. Very convenient!

As for the worms - yes have had them in a couple of fish tanks but as you say the fish eat them but very glad to say haven’t seen any in with my shrimp so far but of course haven’t had them long K

I use a glass jar laid on its side. You can contain Mozzie larvae and daphnia somewhat with the side of the jar lying as the top. This is more useful when keeping micropredators and dwarf cories. But for shrimp, ottos and plecs, I put veges and frozen foods and grindal and micro worms in. It keeps them from falling into the substrate. And black worms.

I have to mention this: a dish will concentrate adults around food in a tank, but this may result in shrimplets being out competed. My solution use the dish but provide smaller quantities of food (flake or other) to circulate in the tank and get caught up in fauna and decorations. This ensures the army of baby shrimp hiding, get fed.

I use a variety different feeding dishes. Unglazed Pottery, glass and also one I made out of coconut shell. I like the coconut as it looks more natural and the pottery was white but is covered in algae so that looks okay. The glass ones sparkle underwater and I think it takes away from the look.

I hadn't noticed you weren't using dish's for feeding. I currently use small china dishes ( butter dish ) about 2" in diameter ( about 5cm ) with fancy fish design in blue. picked up set of 6 at a nonprofit store ( Goodwill or something ). Keeps substrate food free👍.

You can make your own glass feeding dish. Use those wine bottle after you finished your wine, wash it really good. Use glass cutter cut a line on the height you need, pour hot boil water over the line that you cut, put in cold water it will break the line you just cut. You have your own glass feeding disk, save money.

This idea is not my idea but I saw it on TH-cam. Save you alot of money in a long run, specially you have many tanks. Have a good day Sir...
