Where you have succeeded, I have failed. It's time to reset my Red Cherry Shrimp tank.
😕
Make sure the tank is cycled and shrimp are fed nicely. I found it hard first starting out with the fish store shrimps as they seem to not live that long after getting them probably due to the stress transporting them. Good to keep things stable and untouched which a well cycled tank would help on
Stay strong brother, I also lossed my shrimp colony few times.
Wow both of my favorite TH-camrs for fish knowledge in one comment section
I'm not the only one then 🥺
Glad u had success in breeding your red cherrys
Thank you 🙏🏻
Just woke up by the river house and I'm still high and still blown away by your videos mate! Nature is so damn beautiful and you make it more beautiful to understand it. Yesterday I was eating shrimps, they are blessing from our God - nature!
the tank at the lower right is fabulous
Thank you 🙏🏻
Thanks man you're videos are great
Glad you like them!
This was a very good video. Thanks for sharing
Thank you 🫶🏻
Im having huge sucess with my cherry shrimp tank because of your videos....sadly, my blue dream shrimp tank didn't do so well....but, I will try again with them
Would have been nice to see how the tank actually looks now. Like a full view of it. We saw it setting up but not how it looks now
I’ll stick a picture on the community pages 👍🏻
Thanks!
Thanks for the support 🫶🏻
I love that idea of building around the pots. Wish i wouldve seen this before planting jungle val, maybe that technique could tame them!
Yep, it’s worked really well. Would recommend it 👍🏻
Hi Richard,
Thx for all you do and share
❤❤❤
I think I'll do something similar in a 60x30x30 cm tank a friend is giving me tomorrow. ❤❤❤
Thank you for your continued support. I hope you enjoy this one 🫶🏻
@@FishKeepingAnswers very cool video indeed.
Inspirationnal 👍🏻 Cheers from France
I use black lava rock as cheap filter media, also to create height in my aquascapes to save on soil.
Great advice. Thanks for sharing 🫶🏻
i love powdered food. i powder hikari shrimp pellets in my mortar and pestle, mix in a bit of solid pellets, a bit of bug bites, and spirulina. But I've got endlers, chili rasboras, shrimp, mystery snails, black worms, and isopods. tons of cleanup crew so I'm not too worried about a bit of uneaten food (and I only feed once or twice a week)
Nice. Thanks for taking the time to share 🫶🏻
I am having great success with my cherry shrimp, and I think it is because I saw your video with the lava rock pile. I had a few lava rocks in the tank, but after that I put more in there.
That’s great news 🥳🥳
Cardinal Tetras are like micro Tuna.
If you don't like little bugs, before adding shrimp to your tank, put in a few Cardinal Tetras and take them out after the tank is cleared and put in the shrimp. They are hardier and bigger than Neon Tetras 👌🏽
Greta tip! Thank you 🙏🏻
You should add crushed corals in your shrimps tank....it's helps them to molt
My water is naturally high in dissolved minerals. 👍🏻
Cool
I’ve got a bit of a seed shrimp problem in my RCS tank. Lots of baby shrimps too
They just annoy me 😂
will try this ! hope it goes well😁 and hate white sand looks always dirty not good with plants!
Please don’t tell my plants it’s not good for them, because they are all doing really well growing in it 🤔
I’m giving this a try man!! I’ve got to try it. I’ve got 3-4 different colored neocaridinas. They were all gifted to me by friends I’ve made at the pet shops.
I’ve got extra filters going in cycled tanks for new tanks I’ll be setting up soon. How long should I have the filters running in the new tanks until I bring the shrimp in the tanks? I believe I saw a video of yours where you explained it but I can’t find it.
Definitely do it.
How’s that stand/set up coming on 🤔
Having extra filters running in a tank for about a month is usually enough.
@@FishKeepingAnswers currently working on it now. My wife is pregnant currently so im home to help her with our 1 year old so I work on it when I get free time. It’ll be done by this week end and I’ll prob have the new tanks up with it. 🦐🙏🏼
@@pilotavery thank you! I appreciate the info
@@LesDL69 Wait to clarify, a new filter should be in an established tank for a month until the bacteria grows on that filter. Technically as soon as you put that filter in a brand new tank it's already doing its job so you could put in the fish right away because the media is there. Keep in mind that there is no biofilm or bacteria on any other surface yet so however much filter you would normally need you might consider doubling it. For a shrimp tank it should be enough anyway.
Are seed shrimp bad for shrimp tanks? I am asking cause i dont have shrimp yet but my first tank with my betta and 2 snails out of no where exploded with seed shrimp and my betta doesnt touch them lol.
I am not sure they are bad, although they will naturally compete for food. I just don’t like them. I find they distract from the shrimp I do want in the tank 😟
@@FishKeepingAnswers yeah they exploded in my betta tank currently and im not sure what to do atm lol. Like some were fine but there are hundreds in the matter of weeks from like 1 or 2 that i first saw
Just curious…how much of a water change do u do? 50 percent??
40 to 50 I would say 👍🏻
I’m pretty sure now that my lack of success is down to having all females 😂
It happens. I had an all female colony of Orange Rilis 😢
so how many
Somewhere between 65 and 300 🤷🏻♂️
sea shrimp? 🧐
Seed shrimp👍🏻
@@FishKeepingAnswers oh haha, i thought it was another term for hyrdra's for some reason 😅. those are running rampant now in my nano shrimp/cpd tank 🥲
