That catch can is going to put boost into your valve cover. You want the line to go pre turbo so that it generates vacuum instead of pressure! Otherwise you could pop a valve seal or something.
@@ionutanghel2849 the pressure That will be created on both sides of the system even with the check valve. Also, I’m pretty sure that’s a t fitting for boost reference.
@@ionutanghel2849 ah, either way, it’ll pressurize the crank case in that configuration. So the check valve becomes pretty much useless except at idle.
@@DadBodGarage who would pressurize the crank case? Boost leaking thru the stem seals of the valves or thru the piston ring gaps... but that is normal on a boosted engine... that’s the point of the catch can...
Anyone else remember when Robbie would take an entire video to show us a new catch can on the other civic when it was still red. Now look at ya homie... You’re all grown up.
Hey Robbie why don’t you run an intercooler that has the inlet and outlet in the same side? It’ll definitely reduce the amount of piping you’re running now!
Look at the block above/beside the alternator, there's a pcv valve that needs vacuum and usually goes to that port you just put your oil catch can line, it's a crank case vent, very important
Loving the content Robbie, we know you love your tunes, so would you consider doing a Stereo/Audio system upgrade for the Civic??? The first video I watched of yours was the Subwoofer install on the BRZ and I've been subbed ever since1. Would love to see you install a full system!!!
Robbie, I always enjoy watching your videos, you’re one of the main creators who pushed me to begin work on my own project. Pretty soon I’ll have a big block camaro ready for the road and I only hope it will look nearly as clean as you make everything. Thank you for showing all your viewers the fun of building a competent, affordable car
In the future when you decide you want to upgrade the turbo kit, you may want to look at a same side exit intercooler. Would clean the piping runs up a lot. Loving the build so far!
I’ve worked with ktuned and Megan racing, mount your Inter cooler upside down and you will reduce the amount of piping and reduce a lot of turbo lag. It’ll add more power and look way better than having long swoops that’ll get loose over time and fall out
Looks great Robbie, I got thinking for the intercooler piping.. You would go 90 cupler down to a 45 pipe, have a bit straight to make it down to the correct level then 45 it again and the the rest to make it to the intercooler.. just an idea/thought I had.. You’d be able to dodge the clutch line to by the looks of it in the video and it would look much cleaner. That or if it’s a possibility you could maybe go with a intercooler that’s in/out on the same side that way all your piping will stick to one side and potentially make the entire setup look cleaner!
Best way of running a catch can would be to get a vented can and run both lines off the valve cover, that will minimize your crank case pressure. The can your using is just going to catch the blow by oil but not allow any pressure to escape.
Can't believe the first video i watched on your channel was the wish parts for the BRZ where you put the yellow headlight tint on and have been watching ever since. So stoked to see how far you've come and all the cars you have gotten over the past couple years. I'm loving the k-series/EK build and cant wait to see its first drive! Keep up the amazing work you've been doing and remember to Stay Committed. (sorry if the end was cringe lmao im a cringey person)
Ive always liked the idea of a sleeper, but the engine bay for that car is so nice (that piping needs work) and it's almost a waste to make it a sleeper. I would fully build her out. New sweater is insane though :D Keep up the solid work.
I wish I had the money to do this.. It looks so much fun pulling brand new car parts and droping them on.. Also check "backyard bumper" it will give you clearance for intercooler. Also in my opinion, it's one of the best looking bumpers, for the money. Always enjoying the content you post.. Even though you probably read it from alot of people.. 😁
Robbie I think you really need to run the catch can hose before the turbo, or the catch can will be the same pressure as the intake, and that pressure will be grater then the pressure of the crankcase , unless you have some time of valve on the catchcan/intake hose.
lol, i could be putting a twin turbo 3.5 ecoboost system onto an old 205hp 4.6 V8, but wow... the other day, it was 78 degrees below zero managed to replace a few bolts on a 1986 dodge W300's PTO, filled it with oil for the first time in 8 years. snow plow
You can keep it a sleeper as you build up a pile of modifications to make it built built. Once you got everything OR decide as you start stock piling you want to full send then you can :) 19:15 I got the Carbon fiber catch can from Mishimoto. Shit was expensive.
Looked away for a second when robbie was about to show the engine bay and when I looked back it had flipped orientation and I was so confused as to what was going on 🤣
Looks clean as hell man! Imo you should have done some red flake in the paint under the bay just to make it pop even more and make it not look so plain! Makes me hate the look of my hella stock bay on my tsx.😂 but cant wait to see her roll down the road!
Robbie would you ever buy a toyota starlet ep90 or ep91 / glanza v. The glanza has a 1.3 turbo engine and they only weigh nothing, please respond and let me know :)
Nice My best friend has a micra k11 1.3 with a hioshimahairdryer on it and full bilstein suspension and toyo R888r on some 8"wide Japan racing rims 😍 and he is runnin 146hp/ 200nm 💪 that Thing rips
Daym seeing this makes me want to grind harder might have to get another job ontop of the one i have and college to get my car swapped faster aha keep up the good work!
72mm tb with 50 mm piping.... and it’s 25 feet long. You need a intercooler that’s double end tank on the one side so you don’t have all that piping. And proper size intercooler piping. You have a giant restriction
Bro, you need to do a march drop just after a pay day. I've missed so many because bills suck and I have to pay them, which means I never really get to buy anything. Please make your next one just after a payday, like 1st or 2nd of the month. Anyway loving the content bro, keep it up.
Pre turbo always negativ pressure/always sucking air. In the intake you will se positive pressure/boost when driving with a turbo. So you will probably see a little positive pressure in your engine when driving and even more when in boost. I would change that catchcan setup to pre turbo..
It has to go pre turbo because if it goes after the turbo, it will be under pressure. You don't want to pressurize your catch can. Pre turbo will always pull a vacuum
robbie: "i want to build another budget civic"
also robbie: "proceeds to purchase everything on ktuned's website" 😂
I’m actually kinda shocked how quick and how well the new civ is coming along, looks great
Definitely seems more planned out.
This was the last thing he did before taking on new projects🥲

He has an ebay turbo kit, so i dont think he would want to bother using a one sided intercooler
Yeah man, that piping is killing me! 😬
i was gonna say this too the piping seems excessively long, make it more laggy than it needs to be
I been commenting this on every video , those pipes are bothering me od
She’s coming along so fast and well. LETS GO
I think Robby broke the record for a project car turn around time.
uhmm. its robbie.
Yess
I don't know why, but I feel that compared to this, now Jasmine DESERVES a K20C1 or something special like that
Is so close to firing up! Good job Robbie! Stay committed👊

This all reminds me again of the Jasmin build a few years back. Keep it coming!!!!
There is nothing more satisfying than a dude building a civic from the ground up. This is amazing

Definitely!
I’m so stoked to see this build come along! Great work guys 👍
def one of the cleanest engine/engine bay ever good work

yoooooo those are sick i’m so hyped
Your civic is awesome!!! Can't wait to see this thing pull
Make sure to put on Teflon tape on the threads to the gauge. It’s NPT threads so it’s tapped and needs the tape so it doesn’t leak
I’m back and stoked for update and can’t wait for drop!
Wow that bay looks amazing 🤩

Could cut the ‘U’ intercooler piping ends until it fits where you need it and then flare the ends
6th time asking for robbies personal playlist on Spotify that he listen to cuz im genuinely interested 👍👍
I wouldnt want mine out lol if i was as big as him. Id feel like im being judged lol
Need to move that line of the intake that’s a main vacuum
Robbie I think you really need to run the catch can hose before the turbo, or the catch can will be the same pressure as the intake, and that pressure will be grater then the pressure of the crankcase , unless you have some time of valve on the catchcan/intake hose.
looks great. cant wait to see this civ going crazy on road
The new shirts look sick af
same side intercooler inlet and outlet will clean up the intercooler pipes so much!
I am really loving how the civic is coming together. I just would wish you would paint correct it. It would make it look 10000000x better.
Robbie please buy the cx racing intercooler for the rsx, it’s fits perfect on the ek and it’s removes all the piping headache.
Glad to say im all caught up with the k series build
Always so excited to see a new video uploaded!!!
Progress is strong💪 keep up the great work bro👍👍 you inspire me to want to buy a civic and make it fast asf

Soo many expensive parts... its almost impossible to get these in Brazil. Absolute dream!
Man that civic with some vms racing wheels 😳👌
Quickly becoming my favourite youtuber
brother im so hyped for this to be done!! so sick
Looked away for a second when robbie was about to show the engine bay and when I looked back it had flipped orientation and I was so confused as to what was going on 🤣
hey robby try and spray paint the intercooler piping from the turbo black, makes for such a sleek and cleaner look. had it on my 03 boosted rsx
Continuing what someone else had started; a Robbie's Shop Tunes playlist PLEASE!

🤙🏾
Love the longer videos bro!!!! Notification squad thoooo wyaaaa
take it to my boy at midnight fab he does sick work and will do the intercooler piping
OMG..... is my dream on my 99 civic coupe......❤❣
you got to put washer behind the fuel rail because your injectors could smash from the fuel rail pushing into the intake
Robbie would you ever buy a toyota starlet ep90 or ep91 / glanza v. The glanza has a 1.3 turbo engine and they only weigh nothing, please respond and let me know :)
They Are sick little nuggets ✌️
@@andersrasmussen4095 I have a wee EP90 myself love it to bits 😂

EK engine bay is coming out amazing
I feel like you would benefit in looks and performance with a intercooler that has a single in and out on the drivers side!
Robbie why not get an intercooler with the inlet and outlet on the same side
Daym seeing this makes me want to grind harder might have to get another job ontop of the one i have and college to get my car swapped faster aha keep up the good work!
Love the civic build so sick!!
Again omg you are popping these out
Can’t wait for the civic to be on the road
the ebay catch cans do work, also on that catch can I see no bronze filter which makes it's functionality the exact same as the ebay ones.
Robbie you gotta find the riciest wheels possible , but put the meatiest tires on it
72mm tb with 50 mm piping.... and it’s 25 feet long. You need a intercooler that’s double end tank on the one side so you don’t have all that piping. And proper size intercooler piping. You have a giant restriction
try some permatex thread sealant on the fuel gauge threads so you can make it straight
Robbie make sure you change out the stock pcv valve for one that is meant for turbo application
Looking incredible !!!
Hey I know those instructions said shocktower trans side... but the stock ek,eg civics had the trans on the other side!
I can't wait to see this thing run like a beast..😎😍
I have a 350 wheel rsx. Looking to upgrade so I’m excited to see what your build makes and with what parts
YOOOOOO RELEASED ON MY BDAY, I gotta cap one of these 😤😤😤

Make sure u use a catch can. It will help the car alot
Damn those videos just feel way too short. Ace content as always bro
Sheesh. Your gonna finish this car before I even start on my project civic 😅
Man that engine looks beautiful doe
Would recommend wrapping the wiring harness with harness tape, I think it would hide it better and make it look a lot cleaner
That or the black braided looming!
Pre turbo always negativ pressure/always sucking air. In the intake you will se positive pressure/boost when driving with a turbo. So you will probably see a little positive pressure in your engine when driving and even more when in boost. I would change that catchcan setup to pre turbo..
Cool car man always loved them ❤
Make sure to throw some lube on the injector O rings dont want them to roll over. Or get miss fitted could cause a leak. Also Love your videos 🤞🏼🤞🏼
Either you have to use a Venturi In The exhaust to draw vacuum at all times, or you need to vent to atmosphere.
It has to go pre turbo because if it goes after the turbo, it will be under pressure. You don't want to pressurize your catch can. Pre turbo will always pull a vacuum
That engine way is lookin clean tho👀
Robbie my birthday is on February 25 can I get a early happy birthday your my favorite TH-camr🤞🏽

Cant wait for that new merch bro. It looks🔥

so clean!
Robbie when your ready for tuning on the civic you should look into reaching out to Brent at pfi for a tune
definitely buying one of those sweaters Robbie
i think robbie should make a sticker wall pasting all the stickers that came with car parts
One of thoses holes in the valve cover is 100% turbo oil return
