Oi a couple of us were up there in gentlemens hours on Saturday 18th. From what we saw the temp hit a max at about two pm at 3 above. Checked out Dennisons not too many there. Was going too have a fish but by gee the snow flurrys kept us on our way. Hats off to your commitment big balls :) Hope too run into you soon and great videos and thank you so much :)
Good stuff Lord Gadget! Great to see a little bit more water in the EuC and a few browns starting to run! That’s a hard day looping from Denison and the Flying Fox pool. The harder stuff is the Gorge, between the FF and Sawyers. I hear the fish haven’t made it up there in numbers, but some of the tribs are fishing better ( as of a few weeks ago). May it rain buckets!!!!
I have wondered what it would be like to hike in to the Flying Fox Pool, and then fish up river - so much beautiful water to explore on the Eucumbene - but, as you say, we need rain…🌧️… and lots of it…
@@robertlouis24 The few kms up from the FF can be fantastic. Once it starts to "gorge up" its tough going. I explored the area a bit in my youth. Even overnight hiked from the FF pool to Sawyers hut. Its not for the feint hearted that country. The rewards can be immense...but yea have also day hiked into the gorge to be skunked. My body wouldn't handle that type of trip these days...but still think with patience and time it would be do-able. betta go...heading to the duk for a flick😁 !!
I was cold - by the end of the day the rain had completely soaked through my 25 year old Arc’Teryx shell jacket (which I will now retire) and my down jacket that I was wearing under my shell - only my themal underwear layer (Patagonia Mens Capilene Air Crew) was keeping me from freezing…
It is the first time that the lens has misted up - it was extremely annoying (apologies for the sub-par footage) - I literally had nothing on me to dry the inside of the lens - I have swapped out the standard DJI OSMO Action 4 lens for a off-brand Polarising Filter (K&F Concept Nano-X Series Filter - CPL) - so, I am not sure if the misting was caused by a fault in the Polarising Filter, or the horrendous conditions of the day (100% humidity)… I am processing the footage from Sunday now, and I can already see that I have some misting again 😬…damn…
I cast right handed and strip right handed. I also wind right handed. No one has the right to tell you different. Its like somebody saying double haul casting is wrong on impoundments or salt fly. Beautiful country down there. Do you use felt soles ?
You're a 'tiger' Robert. Very committed. I think your mate on the Trout Bitten pod cast has been reading my emails. Did he make you feel bad? 😉😁 Good work in trying conditions. Cheers . . . .

Hi Robert, great video mate as always👍 I always cast with my right hand with no problems. That’s what I am comfortable with & each to their own.
Great vid Rob....!!!! - love the stunt work...
I need a stunt double to take the body blows…
@@robertlouis24 hahahahah......lets do it soon ... enjoy

Great job Robert, you’re PROPERLY cold there, aren’t you.

@@robertlouis24 Suggest you look at the Skwala RS jacket as a replacement - they are excellent, as is all the Skwala gear!
@@robertlouis24 I use a SIMMS wading jacket and have found it really good, a fair bit better than my experience of their wading boots.
Another lovely day out. Interesting how the camera started misting up. Is that something you could've easily fixed had you known it was happening?

Go the Laphroaig 10 year - the best whisky for a cold night.

Evidence against right hand winding seems to be stacking-up - but, if Dave Jensen and Tom Rosenbauer can wind right handed then so can I 😬…
. . . and Morsey . . . and Peachy, et al. I've given up bringing it up. Don't add Lynton to the list. 😄
THE RIVERS ARE A RUBBLE!! SO SAD SEEING THE MIGHTY UPPER EUCUMBENE WITH SO LITTLE WATER! 😭
Yup - Paul - we desperately need rain in the headwaters of the Eucumbene…
I don't get it, why would anyone go after spawing fish.
Could not agree more. Poor things are all doughy and most are worn out. Blokes break the rules by walking all over reds etc.
Agree, there’s bugger all skill in fishing to pools of spawning fish. To be honest I have, and don’t anymore. For Pete’s sake, give the fish a chance
They have to catch fish with all that gear mate😅
