@@GoHawks-v6d yup - two of my best dunkings ever - I have had to swim once, in the Fish River, which was a bit scary - and I am sure that there will be plenty more…
Wow Rob thanks for sharing that. For me watching that event was wonderful & gives me some idea how you felt. You put in the considerable effort & skill & got the just reward.
Thanks my friend - I enjoyed having dinner with you tonight (as always) and I hope that your steak 🥩 was cooked as you like it… I love our ‘dinners with Digby’…
@@robertlouis24 The pleasure is always mine & of course the steak was way up to your usual highest standard& I very much enjoyed being with you, Stue & Maggie.
Thanks Jonathan - it was really great to meet you (albeit briefly) when I was packing up to leave Denison the next morning - thanks for coming over and introducing yourself - let’s work out a way to hike down to the fishable stretches of the Coxs River over winter…
Frankly, I was close to giving up after that second dunking - I was far up river, and considered collapsing my rod and hiking out - very thankful that I swallowed a teaspoon of concrete and fished on…
Thanks so much John - I did more right than wrong - spotted the fish (tick) - filmed the fish (tick) - stalked the fish (tick) - cast to the fish without spooking it (tick) - fought the fish carefully on a barbless hook (tick) - netted the monster when it was trying to swim away from me (tick) - the only step that I missed was hooking the actual fish in the mouth…thanks for your support…it really is appreciated more than you will ever know…
Happy to share the fish with you Sandy! It was definitely not my globug from the fish that I dropped on Day 1 of this trip as I now crush the barbs on my nymphs and streamers (I have not always crushed my barbs) - also, can’t say that I always crush the barbs on my drys, even now - need to work on that next season…
Norm - the whole day was a lesson in attrition - after my 2nd dunking, which was a doozy, I seriously considered collapsing my rod and hiking out - but I am not a quitter - and the minor discomfort of wet feet was worth it in the end - when I finally got back to the caravan after dark and took off my waders, I was quite proud of myself when a fair bit of water poured out of my waders..
Danny - they are called the Orvis Flip-Focal 2.2 - you will need to dedicate a cap to flyfishing, as I have with my Winderness Flyfishing cap from Scottie - as they permanently attach to your cap - cannot recommend them highly enough…

@@MickCouvee Thanks Mick - and thanks for a great day’s guided flyfishing on Lake Eucumbene on Saturday - superb - just superb…
Hi Robert, I think that might be the best video you’ve done, dunkings & all!

Well done LG….Outstanding! Magic way to end your season. Always good to see great rewards for those that brave that country!!! Bring on 24/25!!!!
Amen to that Anthony…
What a stunning fish in some stunning country there Lord. Makes the dunks in the drink worth it 👏🏻
Agreed - the two dunkings were worth it in the end…but not at the time - they were both horrible…every dunking makes me feel old…
Amazing, well done Robert!

What a huge fish!
Well done indeed,what a season 🎣👍
Great buck! Always big fish lurking around flying fox!
Nice fish Robert - well done!
Rob, big fish like that sometimes let the fly ride across its back to see if it’s real. Beautiful fish well done.
Certainly a fish of a lifetime, made even more memorable with the 2 dunkings lol

That was an amazing fish LG, dozing matter how you caught it.

Of course it matters (use a spear next time)
Great fish
A stomper Robert!
Not far off the magic 10 lb mark, Robert! Well done, mate!
Yes - so so so close Frank - something to aim for next season - a goal to keep me focused…
Chunky Brown!!! Its Legit catch mate, even if ya hooked it in tail.
I lost the biggest trout I’ve ever hooked on a dirty egg up there a couple of weeks ago. Maybe it’s mine lol. Well done!

…and that comment gets a pin, Sandy ❤️
Well done on your PB Buck LG
I’ve had a few dunks myself. How good is that first deep breath you take once that cold water inundates your waders😂
Cracking fish Robert. Worth the stage two hypothermia?

Lord …re the magnifiers you have attached to your cap. Can you give me some details as my “mince pies” are on the way out !!!

Take a look at this video that I did on my magnification journey: th-cam.com/video/ZKV6e0Fl-Ok/w-d-xo.htmlsi=i8E5b6OqWyJKr4Kz

10lb plus fish require even more expensive gear!
I seriously hope that Barbs does not see this comment 😬…she will have a hernia if I but any more gear!
