Glycolic acid peeling pads = GAME CHANGER ! Literally stopped using my retinol for week prior, then did my first one with the one you recommended from amazon yesterday….Woah!!! Thank you!!!! Can’t wait to work up to 30%
New subbie here! (Recommendation by the beautiful Claudia Glows). Loving your videos! And your skin!!! I just do pretty simple mild chemical exfoliation...Pixi Glow Tonic once a day alternating with the Ordinary Lactic Acid, and yes LOVE the Ordinary AHA/BHA peel. Powerful and SO effective. My latest discovery is Bay Harbor Beauty Pumpkin Enzyme Mask. Really a beautiful exfoliating mask. I use the Ordinary once a week and Bay harbor Beauty once a week. So glad I found your channel ❤️
Hi Tamara! Thank you! I found your channel a while back from your infamous Retin A video. You really look incredible. Thank you so much for subscribing. Claudia is a sweetheart as well. That's great you use the mild exfoliators and then also the AHA/BHA peel which really packs a punch. It's a really good one! I will have to look into that Pumpkin Enzyme mask. I have one as well and really love it! I am so glad I found your channel as well as I've been catching up on your videos yesterday. You have some really great content. You also got me really interested in that sleep pillow you use! Thank you again for stopping by! I am so glad you did!
I so want to do a TCA peel, but truthfully, it scares me But looking at how amazing your skin looks, gets me inspired Lovely to see another video of yours xo
Life & DIY i just finally sat down and watched - I wanted to leave a comment when you uploaded to help the video - anyways. First off, you look gorgeous! Your skin is incredible. I need to give the ordinary peel a try, I know how mich you love it. And maybe in fall a TCA peel. Right now I use a liquid AHA by Truth Treatments and I really like it, but it is not cheap I hope you are well Have a wonderful weekend xo
@@claudiaglows Thank you so much, Claudia. :) You are too sweet. I think the lighting makes a big difference! About the Ordinary's peel - that would be great if you were able to try it out. It really is a good one. If you do a TCA peel, maybe just start with the lowest one and then you would gain confidence in the experience and everything. I know how you feel though because I used to get so nervous. I haven't done that many, but the last one I did I felt totally fine and not nervous and it went well. :) I hope you have a wonderful weekend too. You've been putting out some really great content. I'm finally back on my computer and trying to get back into the swing of things. :)
Hi Karen! Thank you so much. Sorry for the late reply! Peels are AMAZING! The microderm and peeling - that really depends on a few things. For many people, that might be too much exfoliation. You may need to wait a week or maybe more, just depends on how sensitive your skin is.
I use 20% glycolic acid cream on my face and body. It doesn't peel, it smoothes. I worked my way up from Reversa body lotion 8% glycolic to 10%, 15% and 20%. I feel like it isn't doing it anything anymore, i'd like to try a peel but i am so scared something will go wrong and it will damage my skin.
Great video! Ive never done a peel, and learning a ton from you!I’ve been using the 10% pads you recommended for a couple of months, and purchased the 20% ones today. I’m wondering if you could compare the 22% and 40% Mandelic to an estimated “equivalent” glycolic. Trying to figure out my stepwise increase. Thank you!
Hi, Thank you so much for doing these videos!! I’m 54 years old and I’ve never tried a peel. I was originally going to go somewhere and have it done, but I found you and I’m thrilled that I can do it on my own. My question is what is the best moisturizer after I do this? I really appreciate you!! Terry
Hi Terry! Thanks so much for this nice comment. I am so excited for you to try out peels! They are amazing. Great question about the moisturizers. Personally, I love using a little serum mixed with oil. The serum I am using now is from Good Molecules (I think it's their peptide or antioxidant serum), mixed with avocado oil or any other face oil. I find it to be so calming and soothing after doing a peel. And, I also love the ingredients. If I need more moisture, I have been using an incredible moisturizer that I really love, but it's pricey. The moisturizer is called Succulent by a brand called Good Face Stuff (the owner of the brand is a youtuber, Leda Lum). I really love that moisturizer as the ingredients are high quality, amazing for the skin is it is ultra moisturizing for dry skin. Other than that moisturizer, I really haven't found a good one in a long time. If I didn't have that one, I would probably go with Dr. Jart's Ceramidin cream or serum - both are incredibly good for the skin and also super hydrating and soothing. I hope this helps. I am testing out more moisturizers now as I am trying to find some really good ones that aren't so pricey.
Hello I bought and did the glycolic acid peel 35% from DIVES. Can I keep what's left in the bottle for later (peeling and neutralizer). Should I keep them in the fridge ?
Thanks for your tips! Always super helpful 😊 mandelic acid is great for body/butt/thigh acne/folliculitis btw as it is anti fungal as well as antibacterial :)
Wait did you do the peels daily? I just got the 30% glycolic acid by the ordinary. It says to do it twice a week. Was wondering how different your routine is than that. Your before and after pics are great! ❤
Hii the qrxlabs peeling pads are not being sold anymore and the pumpkin exfoliater has been sold out for awhile now can you please recommend something else? Thanks!
Thanks so much, Monica. That is a great question. It varies all the time depending on how my skin is doing and if I'm doing other treatments. But, overall, in the past I would sometimes do them once every two weeks. Depending on the peel, you may be fine doing it once a week too - if you don't have super sensitive skin and don't have any issues with that. If doing a deeper peel, once a month would be fine.
Hi Thanks for the video , I have not used peeling before, and your experience inspired me to start using it. Can I use peeling in the area under the eye and under the eyebrow?
What would you recommend in terms of moving up after the ordinary bha/aha mask? I've been using that for a year without any issue but I need something stronger/it's not helping with pigmentation spots or forehead wrinkles. Would you go straight to TCA's or is there something in between?
MsKaterinaKo, thank you! I replied yesterday but my comment disappeared. :) One difference between the two is that their AHA/BHA peel has more ingredients - Glycolic, Lactic, Tartaric, Citric Acid & salicylic - a nice combination of ingredients that are beneficial to the skin but the pH of the Ordinary's peel is also quite a bit higher (3.5-3.7) than a regular glycolic 30% peel from Platinum Skincare (2.1). There is a lot of science behind it, but normally a product with a higher pH may not be as effective. But, from what I've read, if it has a higher percentage of AHAs, it may still be effective at a higher pH. I think for me, my skin likes the combination of ingredients in the Ordinary's peel. But, I will still do plain glycolic peels that have lower pH levels because they can work probably more deeply and effectively at improving the skin. If interested, there is a pretty good explanation about pH on here: www.platinumskincare.com/ph-buffering-compounds-and-free-acid/.
@@LifeDIY ohh no! Having to write things twice is a real pain! :) Thank you for the response and that's great to know as well, that a 30% glycolic could be a good way to graduate to something potentially stronger. And your skin is looking amazing so it's obviously really working! :)
Hi thank you for sharing this video! For the beginner how often 10% glycolic acid peel ( 50 pads) be used ? Can it be used every 2 weeks ? How do you use 10% glycolic acid pads? Wash face, dry it, apply it, than rinse off in water in couple minutes? Can I apply aloe Vera gel on my face right after for the redness? I don’t know nothing about chemical peels. Thank you, will be looking forward for your reply.
Great video. Would you recommend mixing lactic with grycolic acid? I tried both, the grycilic 50% did burn like hell but the peeling was small however the lactic acid 30% was too gentle so I had no peeling.
Hi! I have only been using like Good genes and sometimes Neostrada face cream plus but i am 57 and i just need something that will do a lot more!! I feel like my skin is stagnant and the good genes lactic acid just isnt working well enough! I do have slightly sensitive skin and wondered what the most effective peel would be for me. I may go to a dermatologist and get a peel but if i can do it at home that would be great too! Thanks!!
Hey! I just have developed early signs of aging. I have used the ordinary aha bha peel. What percentage of glycolic acid should I used for wrinkles and how long until I see the results?
Thanks for the nice short video. I have a few questions and I think I was a tad confused. -Are all the peels for sensitive skin or only the ones you specifically mentioned for sensitive skin? Are the lactic acid peels for sensitive skin also?
Sorry for my late reply! Lactic Acid is often used on people who have sensitive skin. Mandelic peels are said to be less harsh than glycolic and glycolic is said to not be ideal for sensitive skin. There are so many options out there though and many different products. So, for someone with sensitive skin, they might be fine if it's formulated a certain way or has less than 10% glycolic.
I tend to let my skin breathe for a little while and then I apply a serum, then moisturizer. The serums I like using are from Good Molecules - their Peptide serum and their brightening serum are great.
Hoping to get an answer here about microneedling. I did a microneedling at home with dr pen a6 and it went well. However I got very subtle and almost no erythema. What am I doing "wrong"? Is it normal to not get erythema? Was I too lighthanded? I used the 36 needle but I found out that nr 12 is preferred and recommended by Penn Smith. Thank You so much for your videos
Em, so sorry for the late reply. I think you may want to ask Penny this on her channel. But, I can share my opinion and experience here though. I used to get absurdly red and inflamed from microneedling. Now when I do it, I sometimes barely get red at all. What depth did you do? Even if I go deeper now, I barely get red. I don't think it means you are doing anything wrong. You may want to try with the 12 pin cartridge though. Have you seen any results yet? Did you get any flaking or dry skin the week after the treatment? And, did it hurt during the treatment? Maybe your skin is just not super sensitive and can handle this needling injury a bit better, not causing a lot of redness. My skin usually gets red from everything. But, it has become used to the treatment where I now barely get red but I still get results. :)
Can you do peels like the ordinarys when your on accutane I’m going to be getting o. Accutane at the end of this month and was just wondering if it safe to continue do peels once a week
@@LifeDIY Pretty well at the moment. Tomorrow I'm gonna get my vitamin K2 that I ordered online. I went to all the pharmacies from my town and nobody had it. They even look funny at me when I mentioned K2, like "What is that? Never heard of it" I swear this people... So I had no choice but to order online and pay an extra fee for the transport. "Sigh"
Hi Do you use 50 and 70% glycolic acids? Would be interesting to here your experience with those and the different effect you got from 30, 50 and 70% and maybe compare to other peels lika TCA. Maybe you can do a video on that?
Terri, thanks for the question. None of the peels (other than TCA peels, or salicylic peels of a strength of 10% or higher) cause me any noticeable peeling (no large flakes). For some people, they may experience some flakes but it depends on the strength of the peel. For me, if I do a higher strength glycolic peel, I may end up with some dry flakes but it has always been the kind that is mild, manageable and I can hide it with a lot of hydration (I use a serum with a few drops of avocado oil and a drop of glycerin).
Hi Laura! Sorry for the late reply. Great question! I bought one on a whim recently from Ulta. A smaller device which probably isn't strong enough to do much overall, but I am not sure yet. Some of them seem gimmicky. I just want to understand if they truly work in the long-term. I will probably do a video on it. I almost bought one that was a few hundred dollars but decided to wait. I am really unsure, yet also curious. Have you used one yet?
@@LifeDIY Not yet. I just ordered the Nuface Trinity. I went ahead and got it (five payments on QVC) after I watched a video by Cassandra Bankson in which she says that this type of device does work; she noted that the kind you can buy from a store is lower strength than the kind at a professional skincare center, but that she does recommend it overall.
@@lauragoelzer137 Oh nice! I was so close to buying that one too. I ended up buying a Nuface Fix. I would have been better off spending a little more to buy the stronger one like the one you bought. The one I got is specifically for the under eyes and smaller areas. I will start using it to get a good feel for if it can help or not. I need to give it some time. I really hope you get good results from the Trinity. I have heard many people say it works - one I really remember is Angie from HotandFlashy, if you know of her. Let me know if you like it. I really hope it works!!!
Hi thank you for your video! I really love it, you are so beautiful! I did a peeling 3 days ago, I didn’t frost, so even I didn’t have a frost do you think it can work for pigmentation? I did the TCA 16% and 3 layers, spa girl brand.
Marisol, thank you! I think it is totally fine if you do not frost when doing TCA. It should definitely still help. I also use a pigment inhibitor (alpha arbutin) to help prevent hyperpigmentation - I use it two weeks before and after doing a TCA peel. I really hope you get great results from your peel. If it doesnt help enough with the pigmentation, it could help to do other lighter peels or another TCA.
@@marisolfregoso3047 no problem!!! And I really appreciate your comment! If you ever have any more questions, just ask! Also, the arbutin I use is from the Ordinary.
@@sp2295 I use it for two weeks before and then a week or two after as well. It helps to prep the skin before the peel, to try to prevent any hyperpigmentation issues that some people have. I tend to use it at night on and off when I'm not doing peels, if I have to spend much time outside - just in case - to also try to prevent those sunspots from coming back.
Thanks! If it were me, I'd do TCA peels on the hands. I have done a few of them in the past and they work really well, especially if you have sunspots and texture. When it comes to the hands, you really need something stronger than normal. The chest is a bit different though. The skin is often more sensitive. For me, I would go with a glycolic peel and start with a fairly lower percentage - maybe around 15%. It might be a little uncomfortable but should give great results if you do repeated treatments. I need to start doing that as I often just do my face and later on, probably in 10 years I will regret not doing my neck also. :)
Life & DIY thank you so much!! 🙈Those TCA’s scare me, I thought my cloths would rub my ‘not to peel off’ peeling chest- BUT I’ll find the lowest % tca and give it a try. Maybe this will help me be brave enough to do my face, I use “the ordinary” acid peel once a week along with almost daily facemasks Specific help loosen dead skin . I wasn’t sure if the TCA would even be needed if we’re regularly doing all these mini peels 🤷🏻♀️

Hi sweetheart. I think I need to unsub right now, cause I have bad experiences with everything and I don't want to bring anyone down. I think you are a amazing and cool person though, and I might sub again later. Last peel I did caused half of my face to go numb and that was kind of scary for me. I just don't think I respond well to this stuff for some odd reason, but I wish everyone the best and best results! I still have needle marks from microneedling. And I feel guilty for sharing any negative experiences cause I don't want to rain on anyones happy times. I wish you the best though! I honestly think this anti-aging world is messing with my head mentally though, and I need to get off this train, and I need to take a 100 percent break from seeing videos ect….

Little dramatic lol I did microneedle at 2.5 depth with 11 needle cartridges on my face and healed after 2 weeks and yes thats 2.5 depth which is the maximum depth. Whatever experience you had with microneedle couldn't be that bad🤣

But, it has become used to the treatment where I now barely get red but I still get results. :)
Hello! thank you for your videos. I'm using ISDN Glicoisdn 15% gel everynight, can I use 20% Pads Peeling? Thank you so much!
Can you do peels like the ordinarys when your on accutane I’m going to be getting o. Accutane at the end of this month and was just wondering if it safe to continue do peels once a week
i ordered the full size pumpkin mask from your link but the code isn't valid anymore. good video, thanks!
Aww thanks for letting me know. I'll see if I can fix it. I hope you love the masks and get great results!
I'm not into peeling but I still enjoyed your video :)
Take care!
Thanks Lemonady, so good to see a comment from you! I hope you are doing well!
"Sigh"
I have large pores and some ugly acne scars . Can you recommend a really good peel ?
Hi! I love your videos. How often do you do a glycolic acid peel? :)
Thank you missmerbella! It varies but once or twice a month!
How many days can i use antiaging creams after glycolic peel?
just ordered the 20% pads from your amazon link also, !
Thanks! :)
Hi
Do you use 50 and 70% glycolic acids?
Would be interesting to here your experience with those and the different effect you got from 30, 50 and 70% and maybe compare to other peels lika TCA.
Maybe you can do a video on that?
70% is not recommended for the face, this is made for the body
Does the Ordinary peel allow your skin to come off in large flakes? Do any of the peels you talked about do this? Thank you!
How long after peels can i microneedle?
What do you think about timing devices such as nuface? Thanks!
@@LifeDIY Yes, I watched her video too!! Looking forward to hearing your opinion on it. ♥️
If you are just starting out how often should you use the 20% pads?
Most people recommend 1x a week and then if your skin can handle that with no issues and you want to, some people move that to 2x a week!
@@LifeDIY thank you
Hi thank you for your video!
Thank you very much! I will try the alpha Arbutin, I really appreciate your reply, thank you!!! 💕❤️
@@marisolfregoso3047 no problem!!! And I really appreciate your comment! If you ever have any more questions, just ask! Also, the arbutin I use is from the Ordinary.
@@LifeDIY Dear how many days after peel you use alpha arbutin and for how long
@@sp2295 I use it for two weeks before and then a week or two after as well. It helps to prep the skin before the peel, to try to prevent any hyperpigmentation issues that some people have. I tend to use it at night on and off when I'm not doing peels, if I have to spend much time outside - just in case - to also try to prevent those sunspots from coming back.
Good review
Hey what's your thoughts on tca peels for acne scars?
Hi Thanks for the video... hope you planning on a new dermarolling video 💐
Thanks Devika. :) I plan on doing one soon. Is there anything specific you want me to do one on?
Very helpful thank you!
I’mBinging your channel.. what peel(s) do you recommend for chest & hands?
How often can you use the pumpkin exfoliating mask
For most people, once a week is fine!
You look like Alissa Milano 🥰 I’m sure you’ve heard this 1,000,000 times before lol I have a “Justin Bieber” and a “Bam Margera” (back in the Jackass days lol) for sons lol.
You are adorable . I am a new subbie. I have not watched all your videos ye yet. I have cery thick skin, i worked my way up to 1.0 micro derma roller no red ness nothing. I put tns right after and medical grade peptites. Today I have put medical grade 1.o rentional followed bu tns skin looks great. How long should i wait to aha 30% w aHA 2 %. I meant to ask you what you thought of Derma roller medical grade blue bottle I haven't heard much about it on TH-cam
Misty, you are too kind. Thank you. My cat's name is Misty. :)) Also, I will try to look into this product and try to get back to you. Is there a certain brand or place where you bought it?
W
I just want to say ……you are incredibly beautiful young lady! Blessings!
Which one of those peels can be micro needle?
Oz, none! That would be super painful and irritating. You could do a light peel and then a number of days or a week later do microneedling.
Do I do one peel after the other
what a well done video!!
Hey holly hey my unique beautiful soul friend you are amazing i love you unconditionally
Can you share another video of step by step at home peel?
Yes! What kind of peel? :)
Great video sister!
Thanks Jenell!!! I am about to checkout yours.
Toning devices**
I love how people talk about skin care with heavy filter on their face 🙄
Thanks, but there's no filter here. My lighting might have been too bright though. That might have a similar effect.
THANKS!
I love love your Chanel! I blindly believe you... please never lie to us about products 😏
Thanks Angela, I will be honest!!! If you ever have questions, let me know! :)))
Hey Jenny. :) ☀️ Thanks for the comment and I understand. I know you've had some problems with some of the anti-aging methods and I am so sorry to hear it. I think you seem like an amazing person too and I have enjoyed chatting with you on here. I totally understand and I hope you come back someday! :) Take care ok!
Hahahahshs
Lol girl you can just unsubscribe from someone quietly, you don't need to make an announcement 😂
Little dramatic lol
I did microneedle at 2.5 depth with 11 needle cartridges on my face and healed after 2 weeks and yes thats 2.5 depth which is the maximum depth.
Whatever experience you had with microneedle couldn't be that bad🤣
