    I’ve never done a chemical peel in my life and last night I did 3 passes of tca 7% and I am hooked!!! It was so easy, I watched your videos 20 times each probably lol, I knew exactly what to do, everything went great! My skin has never felt so smooth EVER! It tingled a bit but I had no irritation or negative side effects. I’m so excited to continue my peeling/anti-aging journey, thank you Jen!!!!

      Wonderful job! 7% is a great acid to start with if you are really worried or have more sensitive skin ... or just want a bit less flaking than the 13%. Keep up the good work.

      Christiana Weir-Whilby triple Treat and Fade Bright are both excellent for daily treatments. For best results though you will definitely need to add on the body peels. I suggest 20% Tca or 30% Tca.

    Hello, I admire the effort spent replying to every comment. Had a couple questions if you're willing
    1. Any suggestions for glasses? I've heard the nosepiece can press into the skin, causing a deeper peel than desired or healing to fail, and it's recommended to not wear glasses for up to 4 weeks afterwards, but I need them to see at all.
    2. Any statistics on exactly what undesirable effects are how likely to happen (TCA/Mandela)?
    3. Some say to only have TCA peels done professionally because there's too high of a risk of complications otherwise, any thoughts on this?
    4. How much longer would you say Mandelic peels would take than TCA to fade acne scars?
    Thank you

    • @PlatinumSkinCare
      @PlatinumSkinCare  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Glasses are just a must if you wear them. If you are concerned with this - you can always avoid applying the acid to that area of your nose. Not a problem at all. A little dab of ointment will create a barrier before you apply the acid to your face. Truly, I would not worry about this too much. :)
      I would say the most undesirable effect would be PIH. You can help to prevent that by applying a melanin inhibitor for 4 weeks prior to performing peels. IF you do get PIH .. it will be milder than it could have been.
      Everyone has an opinion. Education is everything! Also starting with a reasonable % like 7 or 13 TCA and working up.
      Mandelic is very very mild. TCA is a stronger acid. There are not specific times or comparisons between the two. They are not really comparable. TCA is far superior for major changes. But not everyone wants that. They want little to NO social downtime. That is where the Alpha Hydroxy Acid peels come in.

    Which peel is best for dark skin,without developing hyperpigmentation?Thank you.

    • @PlatinumSkinCare
      @PlatinumSkinCare  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is always best if darker skin types use a melanin inhibitor like alpha arbutin (in our Fade Bright) or hydroquinone to lessen the melanin production prior to peels. But, "generally" the milder acids are just fine. The acid choice really depends on what you are wanting to treat?
      Acne = Salicylic 15 or Mandelic 40.
      Very sensitive skin = Mandelic 22.
      General refreshening = Glycolic 30
      These are each great options.

    I absolutely love your content. It's very informative, precise and easy to follow. Unfortunately being in South Africa, we don't have access to your products and have to do with alternatives. The range of acid peels available to buy is very limited, unless if you go to ridiculously overpriced clinics for treatments. Jessners are hard, if not impossible to find. The rest are sold at ridiculously low % (e.g. -TCA 4% and 6%) yet very pricey. Highest Lactic you can get is 40% and salicylic is 30%. On the other hand, you find different % for same quantity of the same peel going for the same price (e.g. 10ml of Lactic 20% is same as 10ml for 40%)🤣! Like, its so ridiculous, I don't even think anyone knows what they are doing!

    • @PlatinumSkinCare
      @PlatinumSkinCare  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well, that can certainly happen. Saliyclic 30% would be VERY strong. The 4 and 6% TCA... yes very low and would require probably about 5-8 layers to get a good peel on the face. We are glad that you found us.

      Caution with darker skin types. I suggest Fade Bright and Triple Treat 25% Body Lotion as a daily treatment. After 4 weeks, if you wish to do a peel, then the TCA 20% is an option. See here: www.platinumskincare.com/body-peels-which-acid-what-percentage-fitzpatrick/

      You can absolutely do TCA peels on your hands! It works very well. It can take 20-30 days to start and finish the flaking process - but, that is normal for body parts. :) Use lots of emu oil and/or shea butter to keep them as moist as possible during this phase.
      See this video on how to do that: www.platinumskincare.com/hand-and-body-peeling-tca-30-versus-glycolic-70-demonstration/

    I'm a bit confused. This video tells me that mandelic is stronger than lactic. However, I read something different. "Mandelic acid has a larger molecular size than lactic acid, which means it penetrates the skin more slowly and is less irritating."

    • @PlatinumSkinCare
      @PlatinumSkinCare  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes... but molecular size isn't everything! TCA has an even bigger molecule (almost triple the size of lactic) - and look what THAT can do! :) Basically anything with a dalton of 500 or less will penetrate the skin with ease.

    Very informative video! I've struggled with malasma and hyperpigmentation for years and have decided 2020 is when I need to do something about it. I'm approaching my mid 30s with sensitive, dry skin and prone to monthly hormonal breakouts which always leave a scar. I'm currently using the ordinary lactic acid 10% with HA 3x per week. 10% lactic is pretty mild. I would suggest starting up with a weekly 50% Lactic peel. Then Fade Bright (or hydroquinone) 2x per day along with SPF 50. Retinoids at night will help the turnover as well. Consider something like our .20% Retinol Molecular Serum.

    Hi, I have been using a 50% glycolic acid peel (not my first) for 2 or 3 months, but I have never experienced any peeling or flaking on my face, it does burn and I see very little improvements. A dermatologist told me that is normal that it doesn't peel and that it should be used daily, and I tried to use it more times but not daily. Yesterday it didn't even burn. Sould I start using a TCA peel?

    • @PlatinumSkinCare
      @PlatinumSkinCare  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      A 50% glycolic peel should not ever be used daily. Possibly they were referring to an acid serum - like our Serum 15 or Serum 30. Even those you must start off with about 3x per week and work up to daily ... as your skin tolerates/acclimates.
      AHA peels are not meant to give you a lot of flaking. They are the "lunchtime" peels for a reason. No social downtime. Expect a bit of dryness ... maybe a few flakes with these acids. If you are looking for flaking you need to move to a TCA or Jessners peel. Start with 1-2 layers your first time. Next MONTH you can add on 1 more layer. Continue as you see fit.

I waited a few days and saw no frosting and no peeling. I felt a slight tingling/warming sensation when I applied but just the area closest to the arm pit got dry and flaked a little. No peeling. Does the frosting mean to stop, or can I still put another layer on? (TCA 13%). Grateful if you can answer because different people say different things about frosting. Great product btw, thank you ☺️

    • @PlatinumSkinCare
      @PlatinumSkinCare  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there. Frosting is good. It's not "necessary" to get flaking, but when you do see it you will definitely get some good skin sloughing. At home we never want a solid white - and most likely you wouldn't see that unless you were applying multiple layers of a TCA 20. ... So, a white speckling or haze is just fine.
      You may choose to apply another layer on top of that (after the 5 minutes) to make it frost more... or, if you want you can just apply another layer of the TCA to the areas that did NOT frost. It is very common to have only certain parts of the face frost. Forehead, chin, cheeks are pretty good... but many other areas are slower to frost.
      Just don't get too caught up in the frost. Even if it doesn't show at all you will still get some flaking. Progress slowly and see what kind of flaking that you are getting before you decide you want more.

    Will sacilyic acid remove blackhead??? I have clogged nose & chin (blackheads), extraction create skin damage/scarring/bigger pimples on me. What strength/how often would you reccomend it?

    • @PlatinumSkinCare
      @PlatinumSkinCare  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Salicylic is an excellent choice if you have clogged pores. It is oil-soluble and will DIG deep into the pores in search of oil. It will help to pull that up and out. Use a Cleanser like our AB Cleanser 2x per day to help with this. Another mandatory ingredient for pores is Vitamin A. Fusion A .15 is a great place to start 2-3x per week. Retinoids force the pore-lining to shed! This keeps your pores clear and tight!

    • @PlatinumSkinCare

      That is very interesting. Retinoids are considered to have NO allergic properties. There IS a time where you are acclimating. It can be months to even a year. Milder is better in this circumstance.

      I think there is a place for ALL of those amazing goodies out there. Needling, peels, lasers... Peels of course are my favorites.. with professional needling and PRF being a 2nd favorite. If you want to jump to TCA... then there are REALLY some positive changes that can be had - guaranteed. TCA has been proven in studies to stimulate collagen and elastin in the skin. So that is the #1 I recommend for anti-aging. For hanging skin.. or excess skin? That is surgery all the way. Nothing can fix loose skin other than a scalpel.

Jessners is a stronger option that is layerable and will have quite a good amount of flakes. Use Fade Bright Daily, Retinol .20 at night and NEVER forget the SPF 50.

      A melain inhibitor is generally only needed on those with ethnic skin tones. Most with very white skin have quite a low chance of getting PIH *though they still can. I’m nearly 49 and I never had these patches before. I should mention, I am mixed race black Caribbean and white English. I recently found an inexpensive glycolic serum which is only 4% in strength, I’ve been using it night and day and I have to say my skin looks brighter after only 1 week of use. I’m interested in trying your products but am not sure where to start, I don’t want to damage skin that is already thin but would like to combat the signs of ageing. What would you recommend? And, to target pigmentation, apply the Fade Bright 2x per day to clean skin *prior to any other serums, creams or oils. This will help to turn down the melanin production in your skin and help to fade back that sun damage that has made its way to the surface of your face. www.platinumskincare.com/fade-bright-lightening/

    Hello-
    I’ve been watching you for sooo long and I just realized that one of my new fave you tubers recommends your products. (Literally just put 2+2 together. So it got me excited).
    That said, I’m 38 years old and I have Dermal Melasma. I also have acne scarring that was brought on with age. (I always had beautiful skin). Aside from the Melasma and scarring, I’d like to use a peel that will address or help fight fine lines & wrinkles. Also minimize pore size if possible. I know this is a pretty tall order.
    So my question is this: Should I start with the TCA 13% or are their other products you’d recommend? I’ve never done a peel before. But my skin isn’t super sensitive.
    Thank you in advance and thank you for always explaining things in laymen’s terms.
    Love that about you. 💕
    Should I start

      Oh really? Wonderful to hear that!! Yes... retinol is the KEY for pores. IPL will help as well. You can see the video we have on pores for more information on that. www.platinumskincare.com/what-can-i-do-to-shrink-my-pores-1/
      TCA 13 would be perfect for those lines and even melasma. Use Fade Bright 2x per day and also take a quick read on this page here for internal suggestions on melasma: www.platinumskincare.com/blog/face-mapping-to-solve-skin-issues/

    When is a acid safe to leave on skin . If diluted i can leave it on the skin?

    • @PlatinumSkinCare
      @PlatinumSkinCare  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      A higher pH level can stay on. Usually around 3.5 - 4.5 are good for a leave-on daily acid.

    Can a 30% Salicyclic +20%TCA combination beneficial than TCA alone?

    • @PlatinumSkinCare
      @PlatinumSkinCare  ปีที่แล้ว

      Use each acid alone. You can layer a Jessners (14% salicylic, 14% resorcinol, 14% lactic) for 1 or more layers prior to a TCA peel. But do not combine these 2 different peels (TCA and Salicylic).
      1. You would be diluting each in 1/2.
      2. You do not know how the acids will react being combined.
      3. You want to use each of these separately to see how each benefits you. 30% salicylic is VERY strong. Use caution with that.
      4. You could "potentially" use the salicylic application in place of the Jessners peel. But I would not do this unless you have worked with each peel several times individually.

      TCA works best on the body. Be sure to pretreat with Fade Bright for 2 weeks prior to using a TCA Peel. Please watch this video for further information.

    Which is the best peel for oily skin, suntan & dark circles?

    • @PlatinumSkinCare
      @PlatinumSkinCare  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Salicylic is great for oily skin - and Jessners is a blend (with salicylic, lactic and resorcinol) that is excellent for pigmentation issues. For dark circles I suggest you watch this video: www.platinumskincare.com/what-can-i-do-about-my-dark-circles/

    As a starter can i use combination of lactic acid 30% and glycolic acid 20%?? On my feet and knees and private areas?

    • @PlatinumSkinCare
      @PlatinumSkinCare  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      1. Are these separate acids in separate bottles?
      2. Or is this a combination with a TOTAL of the %'s you are stating?
      3. Or are you wanting to MIX them together? As that would dilute both in 1/2. So lactic 15% and Glycolic 10%. *I would not suggest this.
      Other than the % ... those acids are fine on the body .. but they are so MILD that they really won't do much on the thicker body skin. I would suggest something like our Triple Treat 25% Body Lotion for a 3-5x per week treatment instead. See here; www.platinumskincare.com/triple-treat-body-lotion/

      For KP we recommend the Triple Treat 25% Body Lotion daily *or every other day to prevent and treat. To specifically lighten pigmented skin - Fade Bright daily. Peels like Mandelic (super light on body) or Jessners would be great options.

    I have dry skin stuck to my face on my cheeks under my cheekbones from wearing a mask :( what can you recommend? I have sensitive skin

    • @PlatinumSkinCare
      @PlatinumSkinCare  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would suggest something simple like adding an acid cleanser to your daily regimen to get some of that off. Revitalizing Cleanser: www.platinumskincare.com/revitalizing-glycolic-cleanser-10/ 1-2x daily will help. Then add on a retinoid at night if you haven't already. Retinoids keep the skin turning over MORE quickly. I suggest Retinol .10 for sensitive skin before bed: www.platinumskincare.com/retinol-molecular-serums-10-20-30/
      Now.. if you want to do a peel, I suggest the Mandelic 22. Great for sensitive folks. :) You could do that 1x every 2 weeks.

      Treatments for Sebaceous hyperplasia: Carbon dioxide laser, Excision, TCA. I would suggest the TCA 20% at 2-3 layers on the exact area. You can use a Qtip or our Wooden picks if they are very very small. www.platinumskincare.com/cotton-tipped-wood-picks/

    • @PlatinumSkinCare

      It can be treated. We suggest using the Fade Bright 1-2x per day and SPF 50 to lighten it again. An evening concentrated retinoid will help as well.
