This is the first video in what I hope to be a many-part series designed to explain some of the major concepts you'll learn as an Ocarina of Time speedrunner. Hope you enjoy!
Immediately subscribed. I'm already very familiar with OoT speedruns so I know most of its glitches, but it's always good to know everything in detail. Very well explained and I hope to see all OoT has to offer in the future. I will be returning to these videos if I ever start speedrunning or working with OoT in general.
I recently had a play in OoT with glitches and stuff. And since you're going through a bunch of stuff, I think this will help me out a lot in terms of understanding the game and maybe running the game one day.
Great job, and thank you for making the video so complete and paced so well! I'm sure that a lot of seasoned runners will appreciate the content, but might question the length of the video. This is a complex trick/concept, and the depth and pace of this video allows it to sink in. For those who feel that 15 minutes is too long, they can always scrub through quickly using the magic of modern video playback controls. Coming from someone who's played hours of OoT, I can tell you that I did not find the length to be anything other than an asset to finally understanding this glitch. I'm wagering that most people who would say this is too long probably also know this glitch as second-nature already. Keep it up!
Chris Brown yeahh I recorded some of these segments months apart and had trouble syncing the quality across different mic setups in different apartments. Next video will hopefully be made all in one shot haha

You are very good at explaining, I finally figured it out after years
I know i'm gonna love this series
see you at 1million subs and you become the go to person for ocarina of time speedrunning
This is gonna be ZSR in video form. Really looking forward to seeing this series unfold.
This is exactly what I've been looking for, been wanting to start speed running this game for a while. Keep em coming! :)

Excited for more!
Very nice tutorial! Thanks fam!
Great vid, only thing I'd suggest doing is enlarging Input display while performing the glitch
I still struggling getting isg off of bombs and bomb hovering. Love your guide ;)
is it possible to get ISG from trying to lift a silver boulder/bombable boulder? the ones you need Silver gauntlets to lift
Yes you can! But it's pretty tricky to align yourself such that the stab doesn't recoil off the boulders.
The audio mix is a little off in the "Losing ISG" section.

yessss thank you!
"on the last frame..." wait, is ISG frame perfect?
*wonders how he got it at all*
Frames in OoT are 1/20th of a second. Pretty generous window, you'll get used to it very quickly
@@dannyb21892 Wait, that is the same as minecraft's tick rate, is that rate common?
Oh, and thanks so much for the video!
@@bengineer8 very late but that's because the game runs at 20fps (cost for making a (relatively) big world)
Can this be used to get the power of a fully charged spin attack ?.
A jumpslash attack is the same as a fully charged spin, and much faster to perform, so you can just jumpslash to make ISG do that damage.
❤
Speed the video to 1.25x!
lol this definitely makes it sound like im talking too fast in a lot of parts. in what way did the video seem too slowly paced?
