What I really love about this video is just how incredibly engrossing you've made it as an experience. From the marriage of gameplay to the enthusiasm in your voice to the music choices and how they swell and flow, there's this really cinematic experience to watching it, a flow that just makes it so easy to enjoy and is a lot different from the usual vibe of Top 10 lists that tend to have sudden stops for jokes and the like. It's a delightful time that makes me really appreciate what's being put out, even if I disagree with the assessment (there IS a perfect video game thank you and it's 1996's Kirby Super Star, timeless masterpiece, the rest of the world will catch up to my opinion someday), I am just enthralled to hear your experience and even reconsider picking up some games again that I haven't played or thought about in years. Really just wonderful stuff!

BOTW was the first time I actually cared to destroy a villain in a game, as opposed to going through the motions in past games. Ganon killed Link’s friends, his girl’s father, destroyed his country, and sent him into cryosleep for a century. When he woke up everyone he knew was dead or ancient. BOTW is a story about loss, brokenness, and redemption. It is a champion’s tale.

I always love getting people's top 10s. Games, movies, books etc. I think we do get a little too caught up with ranking and comparing things objectively, but I think a purely subjective list like this is such a fun snapshot of people's interests.

I really liked how all the clips used in between list items were for different games. So many list videos only use clips from those 10 games and it spoils what the upcoming entries are. Here I had no idea. It was a great way of incorporating honorable mentions or heaping praise on games for doing X well before you revealed what did X best!
You are just too clever, eloquent and witty. One of the best and most original minds I've encountered on TH-cam or anywhere. You could talk about any subject and make it fascinating, I imagine. I struggle with videogames these days because I don't have the time and patience, but I re-live my former passion by watching videos like yours when they randomly appear. It's much easier on my nerves than actually playing them myself. I do still dabble every so often, but once I hit a block, I have to buy a new game, which could turn out expensive if I played every day.

This is a good list with very respectable choices. You can tell you are a gamer who knows his games. I love From Software’s games, Hollow Knight, Minecraft, Red Dead 2, Detroit:BH, Metaphor, Persona V, The Evil Within series, Subnautica, and The House in Fata Morgana (visual novel) the best. Multiplayer I go for Rocket league, Fortnite, Roblox, and Siege Other games I love are Omori, Danganronpa Trilogy, Darkest Dungeon series, Skyrim, Resident Evil Series, Alien Isolation, Prey and Terrarria. I’m going to play Baldur’s Gate 3 soon, so it will be way higher than the 8.5/10 I gave it after checking it out on TH-cam. I’m excited to finally experience it. Binding of Isaac is incredible as well, I’m playing it right now.
I immediately had respect for your list when I saw Jak and Daxter on it. Imo Jak and Daxter perfected the n64 platforming formula and its just as fun today as it was being 8 years old on Christmas morning. 10/10 game

@@madspunkyThe NES is 1.5 years younger compared to the ZX Spectrum. It came to the US in 1985, i.e. 2 years later. It's a fine system, I'm sure but since I collect innovative homecomputing systems, I never owned one. I can recommend the ZX Spectrum version because of its flicker-free, hi-res, fast vector graphics. It also features several missions to spice gameplay up. Compared to other 8-bit micros' versions the Speccy plays quite nicely. If that is true for the NES Version, too, then everything is fine!
Amazing video, the nostalgia factor carried most of the games, a few I didn´t even know but great list overall. we share some entries in our top 10, RE4, BoTW, but pokemon crystal and mario 64 may top my own list.
This list is not at all what my top 10 would look like, and that's what I love about it! I deeply adore personal videos like these. But imagine my shock when BOTW came in 1rst! It's the reason I was utterly obsessed with TOTK for 3 months before it came out. Video game hype is not something I'm prone to, at all. Ever. I will always love OOT for being one of my main introductions to the medium. It's where I got my username from. But BOTW will forever hold a special place in my heart. I still love it a lot more than TOTK. It's the only true open world, and the only one I truly love to just exist in. I love just going on trails in that game. Thanks for this wonderful video !
When you got to wind waker I just knew this was amazing video. From Ocarina to Tears it is a top tier franchises with so few missteps. Even Hyrule Warriors might be one of the best games just based on the insane fanservice.
I actually just started playing Danganronpa trigger. Happy havoc on my PS Vita a few weeks ago and I played it for a couple hours and I've not went back to it yet but since you put it on this list, I am now going to really dive into it and see what you're talking about because I am now intrigued?? I also seen a clip to ultra despair girls with it being a shooter/action slasher and it really made me want to play it also !
It’s a respectable list. I almost rolled my eyes when I saw OOT at #4 but it got saved by WW. I personally like the pacing of OOT (or maybe OOT in general) better, but it’s kind of an NPC take to put OOT in top 5 when games like Elden Ring, BOTW/TOTK, RDR2, etc exist.
Thanks for watching! I think when it comes down to "favorite games," it's not about what's better or worse, it's about what resonated with YOU (or in this case, me 😁) in the long run. Yes, in a vacuum, OoT doesn't hold a candle to games released 25 years later, but that's not taking context into account. Regardless, it's all in good fun! I hope you enjoyed the video!

Man at 39 years of age currently I think it would be so difficult for me to narrow down my 10 favorite games of all time???? I know that I would have to put oblivion in there, and I would have to put Skyrim in there ... I would definitely have to put the Witcher three in there.. days gone.. Gran Turismo series.. and here's where the problem comes is because there are so many games that I absolutely love!! A lot of my list might be games from the 90s on the original PlayStation? Games like Gran Turismo one and Gran Turismo two because each one of them represents a great experience for me, especially during the time that those games had just came out and I was 14 to 15 years old... but I guess I would have to rule out the nostalgia factor to narrow down 10 favorites? I would definitely have fallout three in there as I've been playing that this past week on my PS3 being as I completed it all Xbox 360 years ago, and I got the last few achievements on it using my Xbox one one X about three years ago .. Great video as you started off with a classic !!

Love the list! My top 3: Half-Life (1998), The Last of Us, and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Breath of the Wild and Uncharted 2 would also likely make my top 10. Love FFX, too.
We have very similar taste in games. Because about half of your top 10 of all time is the same as mine. Either that or those games or just THAT good. Bioshock, RE4, Zelda Oot (etc), BOTW/TOTK, Uncharted 2 and I have Mario 64 instead of Galaxy.
Botw is also my favorite game. However i think the game that has come the closest to perfection for me is final fantasy IX. I have a feeling that nier automata may also reach that level of praise from me, but damn. That first playthrough of botw is still just a wonder.
Can't tell if you just haven't expanded your videogame pallet enough, or if Final Fantasy is actually this good that it deserved to reserve 3 whole slots on a top 10.

I still love it a lot more than TOTK. It's the only true open world, and the only one I truly love to just exist in. I love just going on trails in that game.

When you got to wind waker I just knew this was amazing video. From Ocarina to Tears it is a top tier franchises with so few missteps. Even Hyrule Warriors might be one of the best games just based on the insane fanservice.

As many others have said, this is a great video, for multiple reasons, very well done.
I actually just started playing Danganronpa trigger. Happy havoc on my PS Vita a few weeks ago and I played it for a couple hours and I've not went back to it yet but since you put it on this list, I am now going to really dive into it and see what you're talking about because I am now intrigued??
I also seen a clip to ultra despair girls with it being a shooter/action slasher and it really made me want to play it also !

It’s a respectable list. I almost rolled my eyes when I saw OOT at #4 but it got saved by WW. I personally like the pacing of OOT (or maybe OOT in general) better, but it’s kind of an NPC take to put OOT in top 5 when games like Elden Ring, BOTW/TOTK, RDR2, etc exist.
My main issue with WW is the triforce quest. Without it, WW is probably an S tier Zelda title.

I think when it comes down to "favorite games," it's not about what's better or worse, it's about what resonated with YOU (or in this case, me 😁) in the long run. Yes, in a vacuum, OoT doesn't hold a candle to games released 25 years later, but that's not taking context into account.

Man at 39 years of age currently I think it would be so difficult for me to narrow down my 10 favorite games of all time????
I know that I would have to put oblivion in there, and I would have to put Skyrim in there ... I would definitely have to put the Witcher three in there.. days gone.. Gran Turismo series.. and here's where the problem comes is because there are so many games that I absolutely love!!
A lot of my list might be games from the 90s on the original PlayStation? Games like Gran Turismo one and Gran Turismo two because each one of them represents a great experience for me, especially during the time that those games had just came out and I was 14 to 15 years old... but I guess I would have to rule out the nostalgia factor to narrow down 10 favorites?
I would definitely have fallout three in there as I've been playing that this past week on my PS3 being as I completed it all Xbox 360 years ago, and I got the last few achievements on it using my Xbox one one X about three years ago ..

Breath of the Wild and Uncharted 2 would also likely make my top 10. Love FFX, too.
We have very similar taste in games. Because about half of your top 10 of all time is the same as mine. Either that or those games or just THAT good. Bioshock, RE4, Zelda Oot (etc), BOTW/TOTK, Uncharted 2 and I have Mario 64 instead of Galaxy.
Wow. Great list! I have several of your picks on my own list, though ff9 and uncharted 4 would be my picks from their respective franchises.
Botw is also my favorite game. However i think the game that has come the closest to perfection for me is final fantasy IX. I have a feeling that nier automata may also reach that level of praise from me, but damn. That first playthrough of botw is still just a wonder.

And call it better than the zelda’s before, to me the zelda’s like TP, Windwaker and OOT are what zelda IS and feels like. Much more alluring, mysterious and beautiful than the empty and void breath of the wild. People calling BoTW better and more perfect than the older zelda’s always feels like such a clap

Breath of the Wild was a generational game. It is the modern day Ocarina of Time. It changed everything about video games.

@@Deddboi The freedom of the open world. You could do whatever you wanted. If you could see something, you could go there. You could climb anything. You could go straight to Ganon immediately. There were no limits. It was pure joy exploring to your hearts content.
