This “order of dress is called Great Coat”, it’s basically the Guards winter wear. In the summer they wear the redTunics and do 24hour guards, in the winter they wear Great Coats and do 48 hour guards, however, you can see a guard mount every day for example, if there is a Guard mount at Buckingham Palace on a Monday, their next Guard mount will be on Wednesday, but, there will be a Guard mount in Windsor on the Tuesday, so you can really catch a Guard mount every day
The Mascot marches off to the Guardroom where he will have a drink of water and come back out for the dismount

Amazing like always. Amazing to see that Seamus is back with his good old friends. Well done to both the Irish Guards and the Grenadiers.

Think the coppers could of been a bit more respectful …..instead of laughing and joking shouldn’t they be looking out

What for? They can't really do much.
Crowd is too dense to see if someone 'accidentally' left a bomb in the middle.
Gun attack is almost never going to happen in a trillion years, and most sidearms will be small enough to 'blend in' with the multitude of phones until it's too late.
They're not going to be able to stop a vehicle from running people over, when they're inside the gate - that's why there's cops outside the gate.
The only thing they'd be able to do is catch anyone who climbs over the fence, or runs through it when it's open. Nothing else they'll actually be able to see and stop before it happens, everything else will be completely reactionary anyway.
The ability for crowd control / lookouts to see someone holding a pistol at their side when they're 13 people deep in to the crowd is completely movie and TV fiction. Many tourists have backpacks, again this isn't the movies where they can perfectly tell who out of the 1300 backpackers is the terrorist just by whoever makes eye contact.
Plus how could they be 'more respectful'? They stand away from the guards, letting them do their thing. The Sergeant/OFC salutes the Colours as the Guards' leave.. I mean, what more could you want? Not even the soldiers stand at attention for the full ~40 minute Changing of the Guard; they stand easy, the Officers make general chitchat, the band plays music to fill the time, even the Directors of Music laugh at jokes from time to time during the wait.

    Hello.

Wait, why did they stop at the end? The New Guard St James' Palace Detachment came to a Halt before exiting the gate, and the music stopped. That doesn't usually happen. Anyone know what happened? Maybe the Life Guards / Blues & Royals were passing by so they decided to wait?

In another video, the Life guards were passing by but one of the police horses was acting up too. The music stopped, seemed to be a bit of confusion, but the regiment lead officer ( I don’t know the correct term) shouted orders and the music started up and everyone marched on.

@jade7249, it’s a lot to take in and learn especially if we’re not from London. Don’t get overwhelmed. A very brief description of what I know an see is-
-the band and regiment that marched in the beginning came from Wellington barracks down the street. New guard I believe. Regiment facing the camera is old guards which I think will march back to Wellington. The group of eight who went out are going to St James palace farther down the street to relieve the duty that’s there. The bands form up to entertain each other and the tourists until time to march again. The men walking with the colours/ flags are pacing the minutes til time to march off again. Same with big cheese officers with the sort of ‘V’ shape button patterns on their coats carrying swords. Lots of standing around as you can see. New guards ( back to camera) will march down to St James palace with the bagpipers leading. Hope this helps😊
