Think the Guards Band trombone playing colour sgt with the white sgt stripes and white wings is from the Honourable Artillery Company ...

How come the leading household cavalry guard doesnt carry the drum major mace like other guards divisions

Hello, The person leading the Household Cavalry Band is the Band Corporal Major (BCM), in the Household Cavalry there are no Drum Majors. In Summer Order he uses his right arm to signal Left and Right Wheels, Counter March, Music Cut-Offs, etc. The left arm is holding his sword as the Cavalry carries Swords the Cavalry style, meaning the swords hang loose and aren't connected to the Buff Belt around the waist. In Winter Order the Band Corporal Major carries a Riding Whip under his left arm, this is in effect the equivalent to a Drum Majors Staff in the HCav (not Mace, Mace is the Civilian version). And uses the right arm to signal as he would in summer Order. Hope this helps!
