I’m just tired of having to explain the differences between England, Great Britain, and the United Kingdom. Much of the time it doesn’t really matter, but when it does matter it matters a lot. The other day someone actually commented that these soldiers couldn’t be Irish because they were playing the bagpipes. Sigh.

They are Known as The Kings Troop Royal Horse Artillery, and although they form part of the Household Cavalry, when on Parade, they are not Guardsmen. They are Gunners.

It's worth pointing that ALL of those men and women serve in the Royal Artillery - and that many of them will have seen combat in Iraq and Afghanistan. These ceremonial duties are only a small part of their work.

So proud of all those men and women who serve proudly; I think few realize that they are SOLDIERS and many have served our country and and some have died for it. Many just see the ceremonial side, the ceremonial clothing and think they are just dressed for show. They are real fighting SOLDIERS.❤❤

Those horses all have such different personalities and attitudes about going to "work". There is one that is obviously the work comedian, there are the grumpy ones, not quite ready to get on with the days activities. You can see the ones that are thinking "ho hum", another day on the job This was really enjoyable to watch,

Everyone helps the other, so proud to be in that Kings Guard which may show their wonderful skills with these beautiful horses. And there , we exactly can see and feel the loyalty and disciplin just for one thing, for their soverein. You did well with your English. "Sovereign" is always tricky to get spelled correctly, & you only missed the most commonly missed letter, the "g" at the end. I'm a spelling "geek," as they call me in America, so I get it right more often than most folks. Passing it on as an FYI, not a critique! 😊.

I've watched many short videos of the King's Troop RHA in performance, but this is the first time I've seen them forming up. Of all the British military units I've watched, the KT RHA are my favorites, a combination of uniforms, equipment, and especially horses; what amazing animals!

Upwards of 70 horses. Standing for an inordinately long period of time. Impressive training. Riders and horses. And the tack team.
Cruel to the horses, and I'm a Brit! Not impressed with 30 plus minutes of stillness. Ohio State Marching Band - now that is breathtaking. Apart from that cheers and good will to the regiments back home.
@@deirdremcnamara385 Interesting observation. And I feel the same way when I see trail horses saddled and tied up waiting for riders. So what’s the difference?. I think it’s because these horses (the ones in the video) are attended. And they are not just tied off. Now I need to think about whether that really makes a difference. (One thing about the military is “hurry up and wait” so this kind of situation is probably inevitable.)

What a sight to behold. The beautiful horses and the soldier’s in their fine uniforms. The organisation, the practice that has to be done behind the scenes. I’m delighted I came across this video on TH-cam. I would never have seen it otherwise even if I had come to London. It made me glad that there is still a place for tradition and one that can keep, and look after, so many horses beautifully.

I can still remember back in the 70s walking u[ Park Lane and then suddenly hearing this tremendous roar . Then to see the Artilliary carriages and horsemen literally galloping at full speed down Hyde Park. What a sight to see and hear. Stirs the heart in a way that nothing else done. To think these were all used in battle in WW1 and now ceremonial however the riding skills still remain a sight to behold.
I am an American but very much loved the late RHQEII. I love the traditions and pageantry, and how all the countries work together. I applaud those who work so hard to raise money for the charities.
It would surely be amazing to see this type of event in person! I had no idea it involved so many lovely, trained horses and so many dedicated staff involved in putting this together so beautifully. It was so beautiful, so regal, I am in awe!
I am looking forward to the reign of HRHKC III! I am, however, so disappointed to learn how much money was "stolen" from the greedy, lazy, lying, and ungrateful Megan Markle, especially after everyone there worked so hard to make her feel welcome and a part of the family.
I believe all of us are so disgusted with her and her mother's behavior. It's deplorable! 😢
Glad to read a top comment from a fellow Queen Elizabeth 2 admirer. Still miss her & expect to see her walking or riding her horse round Windsor, she never hide away & you could be walking in Windsor park & the Queen would ride past chatting away to whoever she was out riding with (usually her racehorse trainer), she would always say hello & comment on the weather). Windsor definitely feels different without her & Prince Philip, even now, as the saying goes 'a light has gone out', very true. The Queen would approve that you saw through Markle, MM & Harry even lied to the Dene of Windsor at their wedding rehearsal, the Queen had the order of service written & it was written giving their birth names, the lawful names for the ceremony, Henry & Rachel. MM wasn't happy & told the Dene that they had authority to change the service address from Rachel to Meghan, a blatant lie. During the ceremony when the Dene says Henry & then Meghan, you can see the instant outrage in the Queen's face & composure, Philip also instantly shoots her a side glance & from that moment the Queen must have known MM was trouble, trouble that was happy to lie to a man of God, in the sacrid chapel of the Queen of England. That has to be one of the biggest insults imaginable to the Queen not to mention how upset the Dene was when he learnt the truth. Harry knew how much upset this would cause & this is when he shouted at a member of staff "what M wants, M gets". How arrogant. She orchestrated the lot. He went along with it so they deserve each other. How could he do that to his family for someone he had known for 5 mins??. How hurtful, I would be devastated if my brother did this, I would never get over it. William's heart must be broken & also bitter, thank goodness he had Catherine. Harry has gone to far with the lies, lost any likeability or sympathy from us Brits, traitor.🇬🇧

Who intentionally hurts a 3 or 4 year old!!! All they have done and said was heartbreaking, especially to the beloved Queen. I think when they stole her private nickname, and Rachel had it set so it could not be changed when the Queen Elizabeth learned of it. I don't get why they have not been stripped of their titles and Harry hasn't been removed from the LOS. They did it to former Prince Andrew and took away his security too. He didn't make a fuss. He wasn't convicted, and didn't spent years telling lies about the family for money. He was a war hero. I know this will come back to dim-witted Harry and Rachel tenfold. And when it does, I wouldn't want to be anywhere nearby!
PS I didn't understand why she didn't get married with her real name and I thought they said Harry, not Henry as well. Is their marriage even legitimate without real names?!? I am pleased to say that the Royal Horse Artillery are back at their Woolwich depot. I have seen them out on exercise and they are a bautifu sight. Welcome home one and all!
I used to watch these wonderful horses going past my window when I lived in London.
The US Army Cavalry also has Caisson Unit out of Colorado, I believe. Twice they came for a week long stay with demonstrations at carriage competition held annually for 50 years just outside of Rochester, NY. The demonstrations were absolutely amazing to watch. As I was competing in the show I was able to be in the stabling area & witness the prep work the soldiers put into each performance. As to the performance, seeing them charge into the arena at a full gallop, do a figure of 8 pattern to position the canon, unhitching the horses, firing the canon, re-hitch & charge back out - all in much less than 10 minutes, was breath taking. These solders made & repaired all harness & saddlery, along with all of their other duties. I believe it was a 2 yr rotation, then back to a regular duty station. From my understanding the King’s Guard is also rotational & these are trained military soldiers. I wish they got the respect they deserve when they are posted at the gates. They are soldiers, first & foremost, not there as a photo op prop to make tourist happy. I thank the military for their service to their respective nation.
Pity the tourists cannot understand this.
An historical plaque would be beneficial at the Gates to educate the pubic.

Living through WW2 as a child I have NEVER lost my respect for our Military; have lived in the U.S since 1957 and have retained my respect for the job they do and their willingness to put their life on the line.
Likewise Firefighters, Police, First Responders whose skills are awesome, these men and women also put their lives on the line for us, truly amazing and awe inspiring ❤❤❤

Many is the story, now largely lost to history, of men in anguish or wounded horses patiently standing awaiting their master after some battle in which these magnificent creatures were shot to pieces. Never Forget!

I do hope all the Military who p are engaged in these Ceremonial exercises do get to know that they are admired and appreciated. Those who sit on horses in the boxes and the Gatesmen and Chitsman put up with a lot. Unfortunately not many say 'Thank you' for the pictures taken that will give the taker lasting memories 😢
People like to feel appreciated in life at some point, soldiers are no different, no matter what country they are from, what we shouldn't forget is they are prepared to fight in war to keep their fellow countryfolk safe & free, I would do that if I didn't have a choice but I wouldn't be on the front line, I'd be on the deck playing dead!!. When you think about what soldiers do then we all should be more grateful & respectful. These soldiers are a tourist attraction but firstly they are the guard of the Queen or King & they will 'guard' with their life without hesitation. 😲✌️🏴🇬🇧
Years ago, I visited Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, DC and was awed by the caissons in processions at various places throughout. Never thought about all the preparation involved or the history behind them. This is such a pleasure to see.
I went to the procession at Arlington when my uncle was buried there. It WAS remarkable and very moving. It demonstrated immense respect for those military personnel who defied our country every day and the sacrifices that they AND their families make. …Unlike trump who has said that captured POW’s and those killed in action are “SUCKERS AND LOSERS.” Shameful! He then says that our military “loves” him and hugs the flag in a foolish histrionic attempt to convince his adoring followers that he loves this country. His feeble minded, vociferous, adamant, reality deficit worshippers STILL are unable to understand that he loves ONLY HIMSELF. …not them, not this country ….HIMSELF, power and the money he can suck out of them. He, like all amazing conmen, has an incredible gift of pandering and influencing the hopefully vulnerable and unfortunately susceptible who actually DO love our country. They look to him as a savior. HE’S NOT.

Nothing compares to the pageantry of UK. My birthplace and I've missed it for 70 pl.us years.
Don't forget that these guncarriages took part in WW1 in the fields of battle, and the use of them for the cerimonial purposes is an extremely important skill.
My grandfather served with the RA and RHA in WW1. He lied about being able to ride and found himself riding the 'wheeler' (the biggest horse nearest the limber which provided whatever braking that muscle could provide) so had to learn to ride pretty quickly. Came through the war unscathed but his brother lost a leg in the infantry.
Are you sure that these guns were not recovered from the Boers after they were lost during the Anglo Boer War 1899-1902?

Yes maybe. There's life on this planet. But not as we know it. Be prepared. Just saying that secret societies create humans that don't look human to me. They don't have a name or a colour. But they do have companies. And a virtual army of employees. They buy votes. So is the food good where you are or may you do just as well if you had to line up for an hour to get actual food. Not packaging and is having come via so many hands and trucks that it could be that is not food at all. Just looks like it is on the box. Another skill is knowing how to utilize the natural resources in one's own neighbour and regional area. If we can have a feast of unleavened bread it is worth it for people who don't know how to mix water salt and flour together., and how to make a hot griddle useful in its entirety. Like when you bake cup cakes after cooking a roasted piece of meat or a joint., because fuel or power to heat the oven that's already hot shouldn't be wasted. Or too ,to pew.. dry socks?? Lol . I hand wash my socks every day. Meat in the old days in new countries like Australia was pretty much alright to eat whether it was roasted or boiled with a bone or as a cut., but not these days. You must heed the bible king James and only boil a cut. Don't boil anything with a bone in it. Birds for eating also. Unless they're 💯 percent organically raised and able to move around so that they don't get black leg rot from no muscle activity to move the lymph around. 2023 horses are getting pressure cuffs run hydrolically - pneumatic pressure cuffs because ,"horses are prone to lymphatic stress in the lower limbs because of a lack of musculature," Professor Schinder of Sth Carolina says but l can't see that God made ba mistake with their design and think it's more like that an excess fluid in legs and feet from strains and injuries is perhaps soft hooves in cold damp ? for too long. Like donkeys have moisture sensitive hooves and if you want to read more about this go to Erica Jurgen Hoof blog. The black bones in caged meat hens can't be good for humans to eat. Iron and decaying lymph. And anything else that's diseased we're not supposed to eat. Just because it's drenched in gravey.... no 👎 do not eat it. Practise making your own unleavened bread at home and the children will be happier wherever they might be in the world because they're being recognised when we as adults and leaders make it so that their concerns matter and that there's something can be done about it immediately.

What a history these Guards have, very proud.
Takes me straight bak to childhood; before being rehoused they were based in St Johns Wood on aptly named Ordinance Hill. Going to exercise on the Heath they passed our house about 7am. Little traffic around so you heard them coming; the majority were ridden in triple file, entral guy mounted & controlling 2 more horses on leading reins

I'm really pleased to see a "Horse Ambulance" included in the proceedings. Both humans and horses should have a medical stand-by vehicle and team on the ready for any type of public showings. This is good planning and management and I'm really glad to see it's in place. Well done. 👍 🐎 👍

I really do enjoy this that they kept the traditional old guard going who is part of the history I have a pass queen, who cared very much for her country and the generations before her. It’s nice to see the king keep the tradition alive.

It did not leave me speechless but very impressed at the skill and dedication of our armed forces and immensely proud of my country. In these times of social change that we are forced to watch on all the British channels of our television screens every night thank god for things that remain constant .

My father was a lance bombardier and Bren gunner in the Royal Artillery on a 6-pownder anti-tank gun and saw action in the Italian Campaign in WW2. He was permanently deaf in his right ear, the result of a German tank shell. He often spoke of officers in the following fashion.. "If you can't fight, wear a big 'at." Looking at the officers here, I can understand what he meant!
What’s your point?, no doubt your father was a warrior and you must be immensely proud of his service nevertheless I am perplexed by your comment, please explain further, are you suggesting that if you wear a big hat you are somehow lesser than those who don’t?

In 1982 the IRA set off a bomb at Hyde park killing 7 horses and 11 military personnel, there is a statue at Hyde park in memory of them.
Just think, if all technology crashed, we could still do this!! 😎
