I’m from the UK, I visited my sister who lived in Oregon, and we went to dinner with my brother in laws son and family, he was a policeman and I was very surprised that he carried a gun to the restaurant. It was explained to me why, even an off duty officer needed to be ready to protect himself and his family. I also attended a stag night for an British police officer and was the only non serving attendee, there were about fifty of us at the pub, not a gun in sight. Two different cultures. I think I know which I feel most comfortable in. I’m not judging, just saying!
Thank you for sharing this video and your comments at the end. I am so glad that the trooper not only was able to eliminate the threat, that he was also able to recover from this incident. I lived in Springs for a few years not long ago and I was astounded how run down and criminalized it all felt. I had a great mechanic in town who basically explained the same thing: that the whole state has gone downhill because of so many people moving there in the hopes of “making it big” growing and selling weed - and inevitably failing and losing nearly everything in the process, leaving many broke or destitute and draining the economy. I was shocked. I had always thought so highly of CO and seeing the reality of what it’s become hurt my heart a little bit.

Thank you for covering this case. Colorado’s violent crime rate has been rising since 2013 and recently passed the national average. Kudos to the Rookie Trainee and all who stopped to help.
Kudos to the community. Good folks in Colorado. More people ran in to help than normal.
Prayers for the officer's speedy & complete recovery.
Kudos to the officers & the bystander, who helped, for the manner in which they handled everything.
You know his trainer is beyond proud of his trainee. Great work guys!! Stay safe 💙🚓
Thankfully that officer didn't allow that perp to be released yet again by another bozo judge.
It's disgusting that he was out in public
That’s what happens when your countries courts are run by small hats 👃
Democrat run city...happens all the time here. The bond not the shooting. Although crime is rather high around Denver last couple years... @@zukosmom3780
Lived in Colorado for most of my life until very recently. This makes me absolutely sick. Bless all of the CSP.
I moved there for work right after Covid. I'm so glad I got out. The local governments and state absolutely created the environment that allowed this shooting to happen. Denver has turned into a lawless hell hole.
Seems to be a good decision to leave. I wish Colorado was in a better state than it is.
could you imagine what kind of balls it takes to continue to perform you duties just 2 hours after your supervisor was targeted. i'd be shooketh
going thru the motions doesnt mean your head is in the right place. i worked in a large steel making factory and 3 people dies while i was there, 2 in sight of where i worked. did i continue to work, sure. was my mind on my job, hardly. your just going on auto pilot

What an epic name for a beast of an officer.
Outstanding response from everyone involved -- from the trooper himself, to his rookie colleague, to the civilians who stopped, as well as the off-duty officer. Good does sometimes overcome evil.
Two thumbs up for the rookie to get Simcox to the hospital and another 2 thumbs up for the civilians that stopped and render aid.
OMG !!! that was insane!!! Officers deserve way more money and way more respect than they get. Putting their life on the line every day to keep us safe.❤ thank you officers. Thank God you we're able to neutralize the situation. Godspeed❤
Brave Officer Simcox, I am grateful you are recovering. Thank you for your service.
A thank you added to the citizens and officers that aided you.
May God bless and protect all those who serve.

@TheOwlWatches I like Police Activity for raw footage, and Midwest Safety for their deep dive into incidents.

This is an extremely well made video. Props to the editors and writes and producers.

Thank you for showing this. I'm a defense attorney but have the highest respect for the badge & those who dedicate themselves to it.
I live in Colorado and travel that highway quite often. This was a big story here and I am so glad the cop was okay. They did amazing work under such horrible circumstances and kudos to that bystander for jumping in to help.
God bless these officers, the UC and his wife for the back up and the gentleman who came to assist the officer. Rookie, you’re in the right job. May God protect all these good people. 🇳🇿🇺🇸
I could never be a cop, firefighter, or EMT. So much respect to first responders! 🤗 X 1,000 to everyone listed.
I literally have no words… it’s so sad what the world has come to.
I’m glad that officer is ok! He responded so perfectly as did his rookie trainee!! Amazing he is alive and wasn’t hurt any worse than he was, great job officers!
Thank God that officer is ok, and God bless the citizens that stepped up to help.
That was a cowardly and vicious act. My God, how infuriating.
Amazing job by Simcox. Praying for his swift and total recovery.
Thank you officers for keeping us civilians safe.
Thank you for covering this. I was on 36 right as they closed it for this event and was very concerned for the officers involved!!
That man is incredible. Takes a bullet, while in pain his training kicked in. he got out of the truck immediately grabbed his rifle and dropped the suspect. I can’t imagine how hard it must of been to react as well as he did and keep his composure.
Early, definitely one of my favorite channels for body cam footage and stories behind them !

Tired of having their rights violated. And tired of these criminals calling themselves law enforcement.
I am was born and raised in Colorado and it is sad to see how our once beautiful state has done gone downhill thanks to all these people moving here.
They came for the weed
You’re not alone. California has descended to the pits of hell, as well.😊😊
@@annamarielewis7078. What’s the common denominator for those two states? 🤔🤔🤔

Thank you for the speech at the end. “Scoop and Go” sounds like a smart idea and I hope that many jurisdictions will adopt it! Thank you for your service to the people of Colorado, Trooper Simcox😊
The most glaring example of good vs. evil there could be. In life, just as you see here, there’s far more good than evil. A reminder to always look out for one another and choose to help when it would be easier/more convenient to walk or drive away.
Best wishes to this officer on his recovery, we’re lucky to have you protecting our streets sir.

So thankful for the service of these officers. Great response by the officer who was attack as well as those who assisted. The civilian who aided officer a terrific citizen. Many thanks. Well done one and all. Prayers of safety and success for Officers. ❤❤🙏🙏 Justice was served to the attacker!! 😡
Thank you to all police officers and those who stopped to help❤
I could never do this job. My gratitude towards those that can, and do it with integrity, is immeasurable.
FYI the rookie didn't save him, his clear head after being hit and firing his AR accurately saved himself before the rookie showed up. The rookie did drive him to the hospital so in that sense he "saved" him.
Meh, driving him to the hospital didn't save him as he didn't have a life-threatening injury. They should have kept him on scene and restricted his movement until EMS arrived.
@@cruisinguy6024 if you are shot no matter where it is life threatening.

🙏🙏🙏🙏 for all law enforcement personnel.

Thank you for covering this case. Colorado’s violent crime rate has been rising since 2013 and recently passed the national average. The state politicians are only offering up policies copied from California and New York-policies that have already failed those states. As you can tell from this video, Coloradans are a different breed! The western frontier spirit is still alive and well once you get out of Denver.

So this guy has one of the worst records I've ever heard and he is still free in our society...the judge that let him free should be put in jail for getting this officer hurt and almost killed by this individual, who knows if he killed someones before this incident smh
Obviously, it had to be many judges. But they have to follow the guidelines which are not nearly strong enough, not just in Colorado, but all 50 states.
Definitely, a killer who operates during the daytime is blatant for a reason
