Good luck with the race preparation. Hope to see another metro out there racing. If you go down the route of MG Metro cup you will need to change a few parts to be compliant to their regulations.

Thanks Phil, ive had a browse through the regs and I can't see anything at the moment.
What are you seeing that I am not?
Hopefully a quick simple prep to get me out at the beginning of the season. I know it won't be competitive but hopefully I can see where I stand and hopefully improve from there.

looks like you have the larger old git throttle body on the plastic inlet manifold. The manifold is ok but think you will need to check the internal size of the TB. @@gregoryelgood

Also you mention the weight in the video, Metro cup is 825kg and you can use any ECU, of which changing to a mappable ecu gave the most power gain

Thanks Phil, another manifold and throttle body was supplied so I'll have to have a look and see which one is which.

I had 2 of them for hillclimbs and sprints 20 odd years ago. Not sure on your regulations but the Rover Sport suspension units and Bilsteins always worked well for me. Tried different combinations but always found that best. Are you allowed to change any of the bushes to polyurethane?
Also the standard 4-branch isn't too bad. My exhaust on the 1.4 was basically the back box removed and a piece of pipe welded to the middle section to bring it out just in front of the nearside rear wheel. Actually worked well. On the 1.8 I had a full Janspeed.
Rot is indeed the biggest killer of Metros. That's not a half bad example at all

Yes I belive I can change the bushes to no more then 95shore. Suspension is a bit tricky as I will be running the car in 2 different championships where one needs to be relatively standard and the other you are aloud to do a bit more. I've just brought a full piper system along with the standard 4 branch manifold should see a bit more power.

The brake pads are Mintex M1144. My Son prefered M1155s, but he was heavier on the brakes than me (also far quicker). Please note that the rear LH bearing is a left hand thread. I always had a little play in the rear bearings and never had any bearing problems.

Thanks Terry, I have a set of mintex f4r that I had on my old mgf setup that hopefully I can use. I've brought everything new in sence of bearings and cv joints.

I think I saw this come up on the 750MC site, wish I had the time to do something like this! *edit* not just the time, the mechanical ability as well!

Yes it was this one on the 750mc
Just buy an old car and practice, that's the best way you gain ability, plus we have youtube now, there's not much you can't find on there to help you out

Does this replace the F? 🤔

Most definitely not, just another option.
