Back in the day I had a metro GTi 1.4 16v, it had 105bhp standard and was pretty quick, I think 0-60 about 8.5 seconds not bad for 1992. I got a motobuild racing exhaust a K&n 57i and motobuild remap lol, I think that got power up to about 120 hp I don't know if that's the correct figure but it made it a lot quicker not bad for a 23 year old at the time.
The fact that a litre sports bike is way cheaper, will kill you far easier and would annihilate this car is why i ride bikes!

@@houseofmods I had an original white metro turbo in the early 90's. Nowhere near the power of this obviously. Mine hit about 105BHP on a good day with the engine done. It was insanely fun. This is an absolute riot. Good stuff.

That's it yeah, like as much as I love my 2007 stage2+ s3 it's never going to be able to deliver the same feeling as an older car. Also most of the new cars sound shit.

@@jjcvk all depends on the tuning company really, as kieran said marketing also. With some companies they'll say stage 3 and it's putting out 350ish bhp and others like revo say stage 2 for around 350ish bhp. From what I've gathered revo stage 3 is up to 440bhp

I agree every time I see yet another BMW on here or LLF I just click like to support and don't even bother watching it. These kind of channels have been so saturated with BMW/Audi over the last year or so that I don't find them entertaining anymore. However builds like this hell yeah!

It seems many of the car channels I used to watch a lot have become repetitive and stale. I've noticed quite a few channels that start to make some good money, then after that their content is mostly their own car 😴😴 forget the fans 🙄. Jamie still seems to care what his fans enjoy and reacts to that. It's that attitude that deserves success and support. Wears a seatbelt too, lead by example 👍

Love the the build.....most of my fam and mates had rovers growing up..... metro gti....216 gti.... 214cabrio full myneer....220 tomcat turbo....820 turbo sterling... very good cars in there day.... will say this needs at least a half cage....they don’t crash well ...safety first people...!!
Brings me back to around 11-12 years ago, essex car scene you'd see quite a few mental metros.
Would love to see a nissan pulsar on here as well, dont see them at all anymore. Was plenty pushing 500bhp back in the day.

I’ve just discovered this channel and I’m hooked on these diy crazy cars. There’s something relatable about seeing under bonnet and knowing that you could get stuck in there yourself and start tinkering. Love it.
The budget on this is irreverent, it makes you (the driver/passenger/anyone watching) smile. THAT's what it's all about, a fun time comes in many shapes, sizes and cost. Brilliant.

Who else rememberers fast Metros when out being brought up in the 80/90s
dan hug hes my mum had an mg turbo , d reg in white. We watched one night as thieves broke into and stole it( whilst explaining this to the police on the phone) around 11.30pm. The fuzz turned up at 7am the next day🤷♂️🤷♂️. The car was found burnt out 3/4 of a mile away from our house around the same time. This was 97 so it was only 10 year old with 32,000 on the clock☹️

Yes we need more cool builds like this. Do a Saab next or Alfa or something people wouldn't generally touch. Love builds people never see on screen like this, always the coolest especially cause these guys touch on everything and build mostly everything instead of going to a shop and having it all done

The sound for the car sounds nice
With a pg box and a limited slip diff you'll be surprised how well you can get one to hook up off the line. Love a nice clean little metro turbo build. Rovers need more representation in the modding scene. Don't see so many about. I've got a Rover 400 with a 1.8 solid cam engine in it. Cheap but buckets of fun and lots of tuning parts available. Good video.
