--WELCOME ONE AND ALL-- wait wrong show
HELLO! Steven here. Glad that you're here with us. I just wanted to say thank you for checking out the season premiere of Dish Granted! After spending five years traveling all around the world for Worth It, I felt like it would only be right for me to take a stab in the kitchen myself. My stress levels were off the charts in this episode but I think the bigger takeaway for me was getting to see the other side. I gained a little more empathy for all the chefs we've interviewed on Worth It, for what they go through in the kitchen and how they must've felt knowing that their dish was going to be judged by millions of people. At the end of the day, food is an expression of culture and love, and I hope to spread that through this show.
Also would love to from you! Let me know if you had thoughts on the dish or suggestions to make it better :)
(P.S. Episode 2 will be next Friday 1/15 at 10am PST featuring Ryan Bergara)
Hey Steven! Its your long lost relative and because im back please make me some food too
I seriously enjoyed this episode. Seeing you guys happy and enjoying yourselves makes me continue to love this channel. Can’t wait for the next one
How can I become your friend so you can cook for me? ;-D
Steven please, please stick to expensive stuffs and stressful recipe because it's so fun seeing you so stressed out thinking about the craziest thing you can come up with. Congrats on this new show and it's EXCELLENT. That pie made me so hungry 😣🥧
I'm so happy and impressed! So much care and dedication... 😁
Steven ignoring Francesco's advice has the same energy as Ryan and Shane ignoring Father Thomas's advice
Yeah
Just like Father Thomas is disappointed in Shane and Ryan,Francesco is disappointed in Steven
I feel like Steven would at least acknowledge Francesco's authority/expertise. Doubt Shane would feel the same way about Father Thomas considering he tweeted "cancelled" when told that Father Thomas supposedly supported Kavanaugh
@@michelledang6834 He did support it so fair enough that they cancelled him.
Lmao I'd forgotten about Father Thomas
He did warn them, but then again... What's really happened? Ryan getting scared? That happens all the time
Shane getting giddy like a little kid over a mac & cheese pie is the cutest thing ever
I truly need a 12 step program because I’m addicted as hell to these guys!❤️❤️
Those two are the cutest! Shane's like a kid opening his Christmas present!
Any time Shane gets giddy is adorable because it’s childlike wonder, but this was extra special when he realized it was a pie.
Yes ...yes it is although not my wording but yeh
I bet you this is the genie The Professor is talking about.
🤣
🤯🤯🤯
Shane better watch out 🤣
🤔
Shane’s sheer delight when he realizes his friend made him a pie is so wholesome I can’t stop smiling
Especially if you know his personal history with pie as a bonding experience both with his buds back home and when he got to LA. Pie is baked into his good times.
stop being an idiot. this is all fake and directed.
@@marikafasola8771 u must be fun at parties
@@username34519 parties are real and not filmed this is not...this is all fake and staged
@@marikafasola8771 you're a damn drag, huh? get off youtube if everything filmed is staged.
Can we get a Watcher recipe book with all of Steven’s creations (including Too Many Spirits spirits)??
Id pay for that lol ASAP
Yes please! 😍
Where is the petition for this?!
🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽😍
I vote YES
The fact that steven gets offended when Ryan and Shane say he eats gold but has his own truffle guy(S) is astounding
He has TWO truffle guys
the truffle guys are BROTHERS, no less! like mario and luigi!
He has his own cheese and pasta guy too.
I think they were featured on an episode of Worth It.
To be fair truffle is at least a food instead of a mineral
Alternate Title: Steven makes his friends/co-founders eat expensive food so they stop mocking him about eating expensive food
IT'S THE REVERSE UNO CARD
Tony: reminds Steven multiple times about the breadcrumbs
Steven: forgets about the breadcrumbs multiple times
Too funny🤣
😏
he forgot the trashcan lid too!
Breadcrumbs are for peasants. You think Steven touches those things?
i cant get over steven going out and buying a whole other pie dish but in the same size
When he said I got a different sized one, as if there is one lol. Only ever seen one size in my life besides the tiny foil ones.
Did something like that once. But it was a set of mugs.
The moment he pulled out that blue flame Emile Henry dish, I was keeling over from laughter. Emile Henry bakeware are rarely measured correctly by retailers, but their sizes are fairly standardised, which leads to many bakers purchasing duplicates under the impression that there are smaller or larger versions.
shane: "you know i love pie!"
steven: "i know you love pie."
PLS, THIS IS SO CUTE 🥺😭
Yep.
Wholesome indeed
Steven asking if he can eat the sticker on the cheese really says a lot about the kind of chef we have on this show lmaoo
It's gold and pure ♡
the cocktail meistro
Yeah, lactose intolerant one
For an Asian he's on the stupid side, I think he was used as a battering ram as a child.
@@touchybanana1430 wtf
Shane being completely unprepared for Stevens question is me in online class.
oOF the struggle is real😅
"its an expensive hat, $16"
steven who just spent $300 of mac and cheese: yeah
Seeing someone break down cause a little bit of their dough ripped off is the most relatable thing I've ever seen
I once had a mental break down because a cake, which I had spent two hours on, accidentally fell out of my hands. It was for my mom’s birthday ;-;
I had a huge mental breakdown moment, when the cookies, that I had been working on for about 3 hours, were too hard to bite into because they were overbaked (they tasted good but that is, if you could take a bite out of it without breaking your teeth). After recovery, I soaked them in milk for about a day and then used a grinder to make it a batter like consistency. I then baked the batter and it came out as an amazingly dense and buttery cake.
I love how you guys incorporated some professionals in their field for their knowledge. Steven reallyyy challenged himself with this episode like making homemade pie crust for the first time?? Also being really creative by putting mac and cheese into a pie crust to fit Shane’s favorites was just great! Loving it so far - a great learning process and entertaining episode
Steven living his Masterchef show dream for almost 23 mins
Edit: omgg!! thanku for so many likes guys!1 love u all!

@TheFemBIZ ikr lol
Ok, but Steven talking about Shane is really frickin' adorable
Steven is adorable period
Right??? I was lowkey tearing up. Shane really is as sweet as he seems. ;-;
He’s precious ❤️

Shane's reaction was like a kid on Christmas morning lol, so wholesome!!
I LOVE that they’re showing more of Steven and Shane’s friendship
Me too!
Yeah we haven’t seen them in the same series much before but I like it!
MIDWEST RISE UP!
YES
And then there’s Ryan in every featured photos like a 3rd wheel
shane strolling on inside like "i'm very hungry!" is so fucking funny to me help
I think it's the same voice he uses as The Proffesor
I remember when this episode came out people said Shane gave “mom coming over for lunch” vibes
The editors do not get enough credit. The music choices, the animation, damn, this deserves a CHEF'S KISS
Steven: "I actually bought a smaller dish"
Dish: *exactly the same size*
*proceeds to have a breakdown*
it's a little bit bigger actually INSANE
Steven was clearly fighting back tears when he witnessed how flaky his pie crust was. Such a sweet boy. Gotta love Big Apple Steve
"Oh, I get to close my eyes!" is the most delightful, wholesome exclamation I've ever heard and I love Shane deeply for saying it
Oh my god Steven baby I’m so sorry for sleeping on you for so long this was AMAZING and I’m totally stealing your mac and cheese pie idea
i literally gasped out loud when he wanted to put it in a pie crust, i have to make that
In Scotland they sell macaroni pies everywhere, they're amazing would recommend
It's a very popular thing in Scotland
something about steven taking notes about shane's mac and cheese preferences just feels so right
I feel like he’d do that with all their conversations if it was acceptable
@@MacBarringer 😂
Steven is so adorkable but you can tell he's smart

This implies that you were not already craving mac n cheese
But I haven’t found great dairy free Mac and cheese that taste good

That's kinda messed up for deaf people like rubbing it in almost 😂
why is this just the sweetest thing in the entire world wtf
Shane’s excitement over the fact that it’s a pie was so cute I’m dying 😂
Why is no one talking about how pretty the apartment is?!
EXACTLY it’s gorgeous
For as much as they’re paying for location wise it better be gorgeous lmao
I love the geometric kitchen titles
HONESTLY
I fell in love with his kitchen sink faucet
Idk why Shane walking in with those glasses saying " I'm very hungryy " is so damn funny to me but it is
It’s the way he said it too 😂
Mix that with the Buzzfeed Unsolved Demon!Shane theory, and you get this: “I’m very hungryy for those human souls!”
it's also a mood
He’s high asf lol
he said like that "order me pizza" kid
"I'm tired, I'm sad, this sucks" STEVEN LIM NARRATING MY 2020
Who would have thought making Mac and Cheese is SO relatable..
@@watcher Hi Steven, love your show! Please make more!
OUR* 2020...
I did not consume NEARLY enough Steven Lim content until y'all started Watcher. My eyes have been opened. I have seen the light. (It's reflecting off Steven's beautiful mac and cheese.)
You should definitely go back and watch Worth it with him from buzzfeed. It was one of my favs to watch after Unsolved and try guys.
Shane saying "I didn't know I had any of these opinions until I started speaking" is so unbelievably relatable. this man is amazing.
A much-needed Steven-hosted show has arrived and it's equal parts chaos, endearing, and sincere. Love the concept.
That definitely sums Steven up 😂
steven making the pie: unbridled chaos, emotions, sad noises
steven presenting the pie: suave, chill, a true connoisseur of all things pie and mac and cheese
we stan a king
im the same way when i cook 🤣🤣🤣
Yeah I love how he's just all chaos throughout the whole episode and then the result is just perfection
fake it till u make it.
I love how just unapologetically wholesome Steven tries to be at all times
Its an active choice on his part to be *good* and i admire that a lot
@@RegstarRogstar Such a good boy
"I would happily eat mac and cheese off of a trash can lid." That is such a fucking mood. My god.
Honestly as long as it's a CLEAN trash can lid, same
This show is a perfect blend of a cooking show and a relaxed watcher experience. I'm relaxed (not Steven). I'm happy every time I watch anything on this channel.
I love how Shane's eyes are so full of admiration for Steven, and Steven has his own perfect housewife moment when he finds out his crust is flaky. 🤣 I can relate.
This series alone will get me through lockdown number 3
Innit! Watcher have really been there from day one to get us all through this pandemic
it is so funny to me y'all invented scottish macaroni pie 😂
it's already a thing?

Ok for a guy who claims to not be good at this stuff, he's REALLY good at this stuff.
dish granted is such a good title, props to whoever came up with that
They gave him a big star to wear like he's the Sheriff of Tastytown.
He is. He’s exactly that: The Sheriff of Tastytown. 🤗
Drive through Flavortown straight on to Tastytown 🤌🏻
my favourite moments:
- steven doing his notes with colored marker and with an illustration!!! cutest
- THE GOOGLE SEARCHES (and all the graphics and vfx honestly it’s amazing props to whoever did that)
- tony and brittney being absolutely supportive
- steven’s wholesome “aww”s whenever he does something good
- but also steven’s whines when he messes up a little
- SHANE’S FACE WHEN HE SAW THE DISH IS A PIE
- AND STEVEN’S WHEN HE KNOWS HE ABSOLUTELY SMASHED IT
i love this show already. steven gets five stars and a *chef’s kiss*. can’t wait for more!!!
Steven is surprisingly clumsy at this food stuff, given that he’s literally doing food content all the time
To be fair, eating and cooking/baking can be miles apart. Pie crusts are tricky beasts!
@@cygnia true. It’s actually cute and totally relatable that he’s not good at cooking.
The amazing part was, he seemed clumsy but was able to pull it off! I bake a lot and I screamed when I saw that first pie dough, but he managed to improve on the 2nd try, kudos to him!
he's also creating a new dish as he goes. you're watching the process as it unfolds. it's messy and clumsy. once you know what the recipe is it gets easier, it's less messy. it's art.
@@cygnia When I saw him overworking the first crust I was like, “Nooooo... don’t do what I did!”
Ahhh $300 mac and cheese is why we need to start chaarging people for all of this ... quality? Content..... the boys have died. "Eat the rich" you are the rich.
Steven laugh-crying over his crust breaking is honestly a whole mood
This is my whole mood in 2020 x))
god dammit I should never watch a steven show when i'm hungry
eta: the aesthetic of this show and the editing is just *chef's kiss* loved the search bar gimmick!
"Should I get something to measure...? NAH it's fine"
Steven is a verified Asian
I don't know why but the first thing that came to mind when I read your comment was "Now I wanna see a Steven VS Eugene Cook-off" 🤣🤣
@@sailorfrw9137 Haha same
measurements? no, we go by vibe. does it look like that's enough cheese? probably -- into the pan it goes!
Here’s a tip for piecrust. Before you roll out, put down wax paper or parchment paper and then put your dough on top of that and then put another sheet of wax or parchment on top of that. Then roll it out in between the two pieces, and then when it’s at the thickness you want peel off the top wax paper and just transport it and flip it over onto your pie dish and peel off the other wax paper. It makes things a lot easier.
Thank you! As a pie maker, the most nightmarish part of the process of it is rolling and moving the pie crust! I will definitely try this
This comment. I didn't know I needed this information.
steven: im lactose intolerant so i dont know cheese
me, also lactose intolerant eating a 5 cheese pizza: w..... what?
I know. I've never actually seen a lactose intolerant person that doesn't eat cheese before.
I’m lactose intolerant but I haven’t said *shit* to anyone I know irl, let alone my family or my doctor, because I know they’d try to stop me from eating dairy and HELL NO
My best friend is lactose intolerant and loves cheese, especially Bleu Cheese. Something about it being forbidden but not deadly makes it all the more special
*shows Steven eating cheese and truffle pizza.* Next shot- Steven: "I'm lactose intolerant." Like most lactose-intolerant people dairy is worth the suffering lol.

Steven is literally the definition of chaotic neutral
He is somehow so exceptionally neutral yet so exceptionally chaotic at the same time
@@isabellevasquez7433 perfect description
history stories, ghost stories, and a cooking show all in 1 channel this is AMAZING
The pure joy on Shane's face when he sees that it's pie shaped makes every second of thinking about mac and cheese pie worth the pain
I'm so glad Steven stuck with the pie idea, even when the professional said not to
But most importantly: what would Steven wish for?
Now we’re asking the real question
caviar with gold flakes
Probably something weird
Aw! And Andrew could come in to make it
I would LOVE a reverse of this show, where Shane or Ryan try to cook a dish for him.
When Shane says "you know I like pie!" I shed a tear of happiness for Steven
Steven just sitting on the floor with anxiety is exactly how I end up when trying new recipes... I have never felt so seen
"Yes, I have a truffle guy." That is the most Worth It thing Steven has said in a long time including the recent Worth It episodes.
Time stamp?
@@Animaniafreak 4:45
The truffle boi is back at the again with his other truffle bois
Of course he does. He’s big apple steve!
This is the same truffle guy from the oil episode!
So glad Watcher is taking advantage of Steven's untapped chaotic potential by throwing him into bartending and then making him have a breakdown over pie crusts and mac n cheese. This is the most fun I've had in weeks
shane's pure glee when he saw that it's pie shaped, i was sceptical about baking it into a pie but it was all worth it in the end
I'm not into cooking shows (they're too formal for me sometimes), but Steven is such an excellent host - funny, candid, relatable (especially the rolling pin incident)! I'm actually looking forward to the next ep!
No limit on spending, and multitude of videos of this series exist?
Yup, not a poor finantial decision at all...
...especially since Steven is a freaking CEO!
So that's were the money went...
NGL I probably would have asked for gourmet mac and cheese too. Shane has excellent taste
Steven using prisma markers to write things down is a flex.
That was PRISMA??? Hot dang!!!
yea right. recognized those fuckers immediately. Like damn dude I know how much those cost my god
I SAW IT AND MY BROKE ASS POOR ARTIST SELF ABSOLUTELY REVOLTED
makes sense for the show. marker cost is included in final price of dish lool
This realization threw me into the wall
"I have a feeling it's all going to go wrong very soon"
"*giggles* I don't know"
"Should I get something to measure it?... nah it's probably fine."
"Did I do something wrong?"
"*looks at mac n cheese* that's beautiful"
"I woke up at 4am stressed about this"
"If it's not perfect I'm blaming them"
"Many mistakes were made"
"I'm not sure why I'm doing this though.."
Steven got me saying MOOD every other minute this is great.
i've never related to someone saying "I don't know" more than when Steven did after not knowing if he could grate/eat cheese rind.
Steven cry laughing over a cracked pie crust is so damn relatable.
Steven: "and I dunk on Ryan Bergara"
LMAOOOO that felt personal
Steven glued that giant hole in the pie crust back together with his tears
LOL
Steven getting to shine baby, also that editing is so fun, the eureka game music that played when Steven had a brainwave was *chefs kiss*
As a professional baker/pastry chef, the joy i felt when you finished rolling out your final pie crust gave me life
There is something truly magical about taking seemingly 'simple' recipes and making them using high quality ingredients and lots of care. I'm with Shane, Mac and Cheese when it's done right is truly a perfect dish.
I am so proud of Steven for flailing around in the kitchen to then produce something that looked amazing! Can't wait for the rest of the series too! (Also the sarcastic notes from the editor made this show an 11/10)
a lactose intolerant person making a cheese-based dish: love that ❤️
Steven: describes Shane in a loving fashion and says he's ready to wake up at 4am and spend $200 on a dish specifically for him
Shane: orders a 50% milk dish (:
And trying it multiple times.
fr RIP his bowels
That’s just us lactose intolerant people being dairy lovers .
If the dairy alternative is not as great as the dairy version ,we will die for the dairy version
@@zannis5441 Every lactose intolerant person I've ever met has said something similar 😄
The editing? Gorgeous and fun.
The dish? Delicious.
The friendship? Beautiful.
Watching Steven work through his anxiety in making a nice food for his friend is really sweet and nice to see
The way Shane said “you made it a pie” makes me so happy. It’s so nice
I have to say this. I was struggling to enjoy some of Steven Lim produced shows and felt bad about it. I couldn't figure out why I didn't like them. Now I am absolutely sure it was just the structure I didn't like. This episode is great and I cannot wait for the next one! I wish I could have had some of that Goo Block!
how much they appreciate each other is adorable, like Steven spending so long to make a meal for Shane and Shane’s reaction to the meal it’s just so wholesome
I don’t know why but the funniest part to me was Steven introducing his truffle guys Marco and Michael as Truffle Brother #1 and Truffle Brother #2.
Forbidden bourgeoise Mario brothers
Steven’s little heart breaking just like that pie crust.
😂😂
Steven: “this is lactose intolerant person’s nightmare”
Me lactose, gluten and histamine intolerant: “oh I wish I were only lactose intolerant again, I’d so eat that.”
Because there are still people who don’t know this, some cheese types don’t even contain lactose (these have under 1g of lactose to 100g of cheese), usually if you have matured cheese it’s low on lactose. You can find it all online 😉
I love this concept! Cooking for people is an experience a lot of us miss during the pandemic, so this show is kind of like a dinner party by proxy. Plus Steven's presence is so pure and I love watching him fumble around and learn how to cook by trial and error. That's very much how I cook, too! I hope this is renewed :))
the way i felt steven’s devastation when he realized he bought the same size of pie dish i’m so sorry 😭
Steven Lim is an American treasure and must be protected at all costs.
Steven visibly shattering when rolling out his pie dough spoke to me.
Steven: “If I told you that you were about to spend $200 on a Mac and Cheese, what would have to happen for that to be worth it to you”
Shane: *Absolute Professor freeze meltdown moment intensifies*
when steven laughcries over the cracked pie crust he's rolling out? i think i fell in love
Steven decided to do a show that would stress himself out even more lol
I love how Steven and Shane were being so wholesome and such angels to each other but the moment Ryan / Andrew are on the show I'm certain there are just going to be montages where they do nothing but roast each other
"I buy smaller pie dish, wait, it's the same size." - Steven
I really love when Big Apple Steve goes all out to make his buddies happy. He is so adorable.
