Hey Watchers - Steven here! Thanks for following us along on this incredible season of Dish Granted. It was a true honor to have Simu on the show and I had a blast creating this dish (absolutely zero stress whatsoever). All that being said.. if there’s one takeaway from this episode, it’s to go watch Shang-Chi in theaters, September 3!
Yo thats my brothers birthday

Thank you 💕💕💕
Thank you for a great season! Really enjoyed it. ♡

Yup- my parents, in laws, grandmas, aunties- everyone in our family! 😂
@@BeautifulDreamerK curious; why is that? do asian people commonly make their food too sweet?
@@shicocc I’m assuming it’s more of an “immigrant” thing? Asian desserts or sweets (in most Asian cultures) aren’t normally super sweet. Maybe when Asians came to America and suddenly tasted apple pies, candy, milkshakes- any kind of American desert, it was “too sweet” for their palette
@@BeautifulDreamerK that makes a lot of sense.
Even I, a european, find american sweet foods/candy waaaay too sweet. It can be really hard to eat it all. The asian sweet foods I've had have always been mild. I love it. I can eat all of it without feeling sick.
Imagine you're sitting there playing Smash Bros with your friend and then he randomly tells you he's gonna be a Marvel Superhero. So happy for Simu speaking it into existence. Awesome stuff! Also Shang-Chi was amazing! Simu should be proud of himself! Top 5 Marvel movie for sure

I now have seen so many interviews with Simu Liu the last few weeks, and its just so heartwarming to see how the whole asian social media community are able to lean into his success and supporting him for breaking barriers and reaching his goal. He has got the right charisma that should come with a break out star from this magnitude. His likeability factor is of the charts, no shred of arrogance, warm hearted, is not taking himself to serious and also is man enough to display himself vurenable in some of the interviews. Truly the best man to carry this torch. 👏🏼
Love how he casually lets it slip that he is close friends with Simu freakin' Liu!
And were almost roommates before Disney came along! So awesome

Can Simu be a guest on Puppet History? I need that crossover.
Well, they could talked about marvel related history stuff if they wanted.
that would be amazing!
Omg they should do this and it'll be a good promotion because puppet history has a different audience compare to dish granted
I hope they see this comment and make this happen!
someone please make this happen
Sad how Simu Liu is literally promoting Shang-Chi on his own while Marvel is literally doing nothing compared to their other films. Like this movie is huge!! We have an Asian lead who’s a superhero, the majority of the CAST is Asian, AND ITS A LITERAL MARVEL MOVIE?? We got more promotion for the Captain Carter episode of What If. I’m happy we got him on this episode. Nice guy!
Edit: It seems like some people have not seen many ads at all while some see ads all the time. It might be a regional thing. I don’t know.
I don't know if it's a region-based thing or if I'm just not an avid marvel fan, but I'd say I've seen a similar amount of ads popping up and the trailers and stuff on my feed for both those things. I could be wrong tho.
You're not kidding, this actor has been doing all the heavy lifting of promoting this movie mostly by himself with some help from dedicated fans. He's been heavily promoting it on his Twitter since day 1 but I'm not seeing ads for this movie anywhere, not on youtube or other websites or tv. The only reason I know about it is fans hyping it with mostly material the actor has provided. Normally it's hard to avoid Marvel ads but this movie is getting no advertising at all!
Dont imagine marvel/Disney would be self sabotaging their own profits. Lack of marketing might be a reflection of the times. Maybe the promotional budget is lower because their movie revenue (and everybody's) has tanked in the last year and cinema releases don't attract the same audience? Personally I've seen the same amount of marketing for the eternals so far, or black widow before it came out.
@@hankjones7054 Disney has a history of badly marketing anything that they don't want to do well to justify not doing it going forward. This is a company that could sell water to fish and has absolutely tanked movies with how it was marketed in the past. Look into how they treated treasure planet.
I dont think so. Marvel youtube channel literally keep releasing Shang-chi video. And the cast and crew doing interview there and there.
This is so fkn sweet snd cute and incredible. Marvel ppl seem so untouchable, it’s cool to see a dope ass superhero like Shang-Chi just hang with his friend

@@manni6below nah.. it's just the world full of hate now 🤷♂️
@@manni6below It's great that you've had this positive experience with men being kind to each other. I'm not being sarcastic or caustic when I say that, it really IS great. Unfortunately, that isn't the case everywhere. Toxic masculinity is very real, and I've seen a fair bit of men beating other men down for not being "manly" enough. This is especially true in places where the "traditional" family structure is valued, with a "strong man" at the head of the family (When I say traditional, I mean traditional for the western world, particularly the United States, and especially the southern states). For people who have grown up in those environments, seeing men interact with each other in a positive manner like this can be a rarity. Luckily, it's becoming more and more common and accepted. Just out of curiosity, what country/state do you live in? The social and political environment you live in can influence this heavily. I'm from the southern U.S. (North Carolina) if that provides any clarification.
I’m starting to realize that working himself into a frenzy, breaking down, and then rising from the ashes with a dish that is JAWDROPPING is Steven’s love language.

I think they were, at the end of the ep Steven mentions that he and Simu were actually going to be roommates, but Simu got the call that he was in for Shang Chi, so Steven had to live alone with his cat 😂

i started laughing out loud at the not too sweet comment. I bought my mom a custom birthday cake and we tried it and she goes "its good. not too sweet." and my response was "yea, i like that its not too sweet". yes ultimate asian compliment.
We have an Asian bakery that makes an awesome strawberry cake that's not too sweet. I feel like appreciating that is something that just... is innate in Asians lol!
@@rosemali3022 I really appreciate bakers that can make a good tasting dessert without all of the sweetness. I feel you get more flavor
Why is it that it's just such an Asian thing to compliment a dessert by saying "It's not too sweet?" xD
My parents, and my Asian friends are always like "It's tasty and not too sweet" whenever I make cakes and stuff for them

This is my favorite new web series. Steven has such a natural chemistry with all the guests. The premise that he is just figuring things out as he goes along, overcomes these challenges, it's very endearing to people like myself, who are also constantly figuring out things for the first time and just having to make it work anyways.

One of my favorite things about Watcher is when Steven calls up an expert and you can TELL that they think his idea isn't going to work. Then he serves his guest and they love every moment of it. Absolutely *(boba) chef's kiss*
Simu is such a lovely and charming guy, seems like a ton of fun to hang with.
Every interview or media appearance I see from Simu gives me that same impression. So pumped to see him in Shang Chi next month, I feel like his career is about to skyrocket.

I was wholeheartedly against them leaving TH-cam but they’ve owned up to their mistakes and apologised. I don’t know about you but I just want to move on and let things return back to normal.

Simu Liu, aka the best thing to ever happen to Marvel Studios
literally did a double take on the title!! i’m so proud of how far our boy has come
It has been a really fun and impressive season. Steven has absolutely nailed every dish. Not only showing his cooking capabilities but also showing his appreciation and love to the people around him. It was so sweet watching this episode 😝
the end of this video left me in dried tears after all those fun reactions from simu during the presentation
"Not too sweet", can relate to this on so many levels 😂
Must be so cool to meet a famous celebrity, Simu is so lucky!
HAHAH spot on Steven the 🐐
I love how Tony grounds Steven when he goes off the rails. "It's okay, you don't need to use a spoon for that one, just plop it in there."
Same! But also, imagine a blooper where they actually let Steven Lim try to spoon-pour a foam.
I love tony's vibe
