if i wanted a normal comfort show i'd ask for one. i'm very content with a man building a seafood tower that pushes his nerves to the limit
I would love to see an episode where Steven has to grant the Professor’s dish because he’s also an employee at Watcher. But that guy only eats spiders and jelly beans so that would be the struggle. Plus he would be constantly on edge thinking Steven is a genie due to the name of the show.
Or Ryan had to do it with the professor
What if he asks for a 3 course meal centering on jellybeans hahahhaha
Puppet History x Dish Granted: Steven must recreate some of history’s greatest dishes while The Professor asks questions about the meal. Winner gets to eat the near five course meal.

Awww this is so sweet. It might be a series but seeing Freddie cry like that really makes you think about how something as simple as making food for another can make someone’s whole day. Especially during hard times. It may have been super expensive, but it was also the thought of everything he put into it that made her feel so special. You could tell she really needed that. Good job Steven, it’s amazing how you can pull these dishes out so impressively 💕

@@cazia9 yes! I love this series because he knows realistically that no one could do this and does his best to make it special and personal for each person. Regardless of price, I’d be so happy if someone did that for me.

Freddie crying while displaying her kitten heel was the most wholesome thing. She's so sweet.
I love the genuine reaction from Freddie. You can tell she was not only genuinely impressed by the whole presentation, but that it really meant a lot to her that her friend would do something so special for her. This series is so dope! Normalize doing cool shit for your friends with no expectation of getting anything in return other than friendship.
The fact that she cried is the sweetest thing. Freddie must have had a hard time being an extrovert. As an introvert, lockdown was easy for me but I'm sure it was hard for her to keep herself away from friends and family.
As a fellow introvert that cruised through the lockdowns, I also feel so bad for extroverts during this time
@J K Yeah! I recently started working at a restaurant as a part-time thing while finishing college, and I was SHOCKED (being an introvert) how many people there my age are working there SOLELY because they want more social interactions and to make more friends. Some of them are right out of college and GOT their dream job (a full-time gig) but it's partially online right now and they don't need the money but they're still working there because they love the team environment and having those fun moments. It's so interesting!
The amount of times I've been asked if I want to hang out with coworkers or go swimming with them is WILD.. but nice! Oh, and most of them are extroverts, to be clear. Also, a few people just moved to this city and they have their full-time job and are around 21-25 (a little older than me) but they're working there to meet new people.
So I also feel bad for the extroverts but I'm glad people are beginning to have an outlet
This is honestly such a heartfelt, sweet comment that I'm glad to have read. I'm more an ambivert, but I did personally feel the strain of lack of social activity. And what made me even sadder was a lot of stuff online being a bit more catty or making light of those with extroverted tendencies while everything was going on. The empathy is quite appreciated, thank you.
I loved lockdown but I didn't have any sympathy for extroverts, they made my life hell for soo long. Time for them to spend some time in the corner.

Can I just give a shoutout to Brittney, she's probably quite phenomenal as a production coordinator judging by how well she knew what Steven needed at the last few minutes of preparing the food.
I cried with Freddie, and love how Steven just IS, but gotta say, Tony is so supportive of everything Steven does and all his ideas. We all need a Tony.
When Freddie first came in she said “I haven’t hugged someone in so long” quarantine could have been a really lonely time for her. So just Steven putting all the thought and effort that he does into the meal, that in itself meant so much more than the price of it all!
In quarantine my friend was so isolated because her roommate is immunocompromised to the point where he ends up in the hospital for a common cold. I would run to the store or starbucks to grab her something nice if i could, and after i got vaccinated i stopped by and since her roommate’s parents weren’t home(her living situation is a long story) i got out of the car and gave her a hug. She hugged me so hard and for so long that my ribs ached the whole drive home(it wasn’t painful though;just the result of deep pressure being applied for multiple minutes).
5 minutes in and Steven's intense desire to impress Freddie is everything I need right now. Get you a friend like Steven. I hope for an episode where someone whose dish you've granted grants your dish right back.

EVERYONE NEEDS A STEVEN IN THEIR LIFE. His attention to detail and just how much thought and care he puts into every dish he creates! I started tearing up when Freddie did! Dish Granted is an EXPERIENCE. Steven has such a gift for creating food and making it an experience to remember! Love this series so much!
This is the first episode where Steven seemed to actually know what he was doing. Our boy is improving

It might have seemed small, but the fact Steven and the crew made it look like she was VIP at a full experience style restaurant like Barton G’s complete with drinks and magic was so thoughtful and special 💖

I hope one day someone can do this for Steven as a Dish Granted special. His dishes are always well thought out but loads of fun for everyone. This is really such a loving and also quite the learning experience of a series.

I love seeing steven's confidence AND skill level increase this season compared to the first. this show started with tacos, pasta and oysters but now he's really going all out to make a seafood feast. good for him good for him

Steven has become such a capable chef that this show is now my comfort show and I'm just so at ease with whatever ridiculous challenge he sets for himself.
OK listen. Steven Lim, I don't enjoy cooking and I generally find cooking shows pretty boring, but there's just something so hearty and enjoyable about this series. I genuinely love it. Just wanted to say that in case you weren't already getting enough love.

The thing I love best about this series is just how evident Steven's love for his people is in every single action he makes through out. It's just too frickin' wholesome. 🥰
Now that everyone's settled into a comfy rhythm for this series, you can absolutely pick up on the sense that Steven is making increasingly more elaborate dishes not only with the guest of honor in mind but the crew as well. It must be thrilling to taste-test the practice runs from this show!!

I'm not sure Steven & Merle have met.
But in some of Steven's early BF videos, he mentions being close friends with Freddie. I didn't know they interned together, but I know he used to sit next to Ladylike.
Also Jen is his friend from the same period. They even did a "Handcuffed for 24 hours" video.
If Steven & Freddie were in the same intern group, that means he was in the same group as Kane and Saf - though I've never seen Steven do anything with Kane.

Please no root crops. People always do root crops when they have to make something fancy and vegetarian, and it just tastes like beets and dirt. I've eaten so many at this point that I can taste them in the roof of my mouth everytime I so much as see one.

This is in my top three favorite shows. Not only is it funny but its so wholesome. I swear I've cried (happy) tears ever episode seeing what the experience beyond the food means to everyone given the nightmare we've all been living in. Watching Steven's confidence grow is inspiring and a special shout out to the crew who i hope we see more of as it progresses.
The show premise is already super cute and wholesome, but Steven's creativity and ability to connect the food with his friends in such a personal way makes his dishes amazing. Love this show!!!
