I love that Sabretooth Tiger front end lighting and that green is gorgeous!!
For 40K i prefer a used automatic c-180 mercedes 160hp 2017-2019 with 30K. Nice review though as always.
Good review, thanks. Shame about the shared platform depriving the cabin space.
Great review as ever Nobby but like it's sister car the Astra they're both around the £40k mark when they come to the UK so I can imagine they'll be even more expensive in Ireland. It's a lovely looking car but at that price with what I can only say as an average range ie it could be better because 400km sounds like alot but in miles that's around 248 and that's in optimal conditions, as you know once the temperature drops you'll be lucky getting 150 miles out of it and unless you're not doing any motorway miles which some aren't that's no good to anyone plus it's it a much higher group of insurance too which apart from the too high purchase price is the one thing everybody forgets.
When you calculate the TOTAL cost over say three years of ownership, you'll realise the EV version is much lower cost than the much cheaper petrol version.
Nobody mentions the thousands spent on petrol and servicing over three years and the hundreds of tonnes of CO2 emitted to the atmosphere.
200 miles represents 4 hours of driving on average. This is all you need because you need to stop at some point and the car might as well be charging while you're taking a comfort break.
I like Peugeot's take on EV; that is keep the battery size down to keep the weight down.
I have an ID.3 which is a very well designed car but I miss the agility and supple suspension of my 308 petrol.
@@pauladams5673 be that as it may it still doesn't get away from the fact that it's £40k to buy and at least £800 to insure and I'm sorry that's just too much we don't all want PCP or hire purchase deals on restricted mileages etc.
Lovely car but price will be crazy, they can't undercut the Astra by much and the Astra is already priced crazily.
Nice review, when will you be doing a full review of the BYD Seal?
No idea to be honest
Does it have a tow rating and roof rack rating?
Beautiful car. If I wait log enough my 2011 Focus hatch will come back into fashion?
Could be a future classic actually as they’re killing the Focus
The MG4 offers more range for less money than the Peugeot e-308, but the Peugeot is likely to be offered in more European markets, such as Switzerland, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Estonia, and Latvia where MG is not yet available. MG is planning an expansion to Poland and Romania, and they’ll get the MG4.
LFP. Nice
At is the first time I heard a reviewers concern about tyre noise, beautiful car nonetheless.
First time you’ve heard tyres mentioned? Wow. The only thing connecting a driver with the road. You must be watching the wrong channels 😊
I wonder if testers could use the word "claimed" before any range figure quoted.
The claimed range may be achievable, but I've never seen a range test yet, where the tester actually achieved the claimed range.
That’s why most of us say “real world” in our reviews. Listen out for it as you clearly haven’t heard it somehow!
It’s a beautiful car, but they should have ditched the tacky fake exhausts.
Would like to see without them to compare
Agree 100%, I am NOT driving an EV with fake exhausts, that's just too daft....
Mark, you said it " gorgeous as ever"
Peugeot are on fire in terms of design, specifications even colours. Still now the 208 is a head turner. And now the 308 taking the fight to the Golf even the Audi A3...
Certainly underlines what a laughing stock and con.the likes of Tesla, Hyundai, Kia and so forth are. The King's new clothes! When is the joke that all those brands are going to turn sour? This is better than the Astra too. This could be the EV to buy.
Or Volvo of course.
Brilliant review!
Did you actually drive 400km in it? Or just repeat what they told you? While on your all-expenses paid trip to Barca...
You’ll notice the letters WLTP if you open your eyes
Ahh, hoped they were going to put the new E3008 battery into the E308. I’d love to get back into a hatchback, or an estate - even if just for the poor ol’dog having less of jump into the back ! And, and ……. Why apologise for saying Peugeot the way we say it - and not apologise for all of the other words that we say .. in a “distinctive” way … like Perr and, Kare. Yeah, I’m Bein’ boweld 😮. Usual great review though, Nobby. Good point about the tyre noise. 👍🏻 Thanks.
You say tyre noise becomes really intrusive at higher speeds. Wouldn't it be more accurate to say that I.C.E. is so loud it masks tyre noise and electric cars are so quiet, they don't mask tyre noise.
You make it sound like tyre noise is an E.V. problem.
It is my opinion, after driving a few hundred cars per year (so the comparison is a seat of pants), that the car has a lot of tyre noise. Irrespective of what it runs on. It’s also very much tyre dependent, obviously.
Unbelievable how boring the automotive industry has become in the past couple of years. Nothing about sound, quality and stuff anymore. V8, V10 ot W12? Anyone???
It's all about the amount of buttons, battery capacity and range now. And so quiet inside that you can literally fall asleep in it....
Ps. Something new in Sandyforrd D18 for sure.... if u know what I mean 😎
Have you had many W12s yourself?
Fake exhausts😳
