GBO2 RX-93 Nu Gundam: The 700 cost king of DPS!

- This video contains two recent matches I had with the Nu Gundam on Gundam Battle Operation 2. It is a 700 cost general with excellent stun accumulation, great mid-range DPS, LV3 Emergency Evasion, great evasiveness and a deployable funnel barrier with can block ranged attacks. Its weaknesses would be lack of Maneuver Armor, low HP, mediocre melee ability and both primary options not having the longest range. I think this suit still has the potential to do well in matches and still has some of the best midrange DPS at 700 cost, but it is definitely flawed now. But if you have a keen understanding of stun accumulation, good positioning and good aim then you can do a lot with it. This first match was in rated with the beam rifle, but the second match was in a custom match with the bazooka. I hope that you enjoy watching!
The Nu Gundam can choose between a beam rifle or bazooka for its primary weapon. The beam rifle has 700x4 (3500) power, 13%x4 (90%) heat, 0.8 seconds cooldown, 18 seconds overheat, 0.77 seconds swap, 300m (450m) range, 2.5 seconds focus time and 20%x4 (80%) stagger value. This has great stats across the board but it's uncharged shots have great DPS and stagger value. Uncharged shots have somewhat short range but the charged shot is great for longer distances.
The bazooka has 2900 power, 5 ammo, 6 seconds cooldown, 13 seconds reload, 1.5 seconds swap time, 300m range and 80% stagger value. This is one of the best bazookas in the whole game, the only weakness being somewhat short range. It can deal amazing damage to suits with low ballistic resist and offers an instant stun without charging when compared with the beam rifle.
Its primary melee weapon is a beam saber with 2900 power, 2.5 seconds cooldown, 0.77 seconds swap and 60% combo modifier. This lacks the burst damage which other 700 cost melee weapons get, so it is mostly useful for just self defence.
Its first sub weapon is a vulcan gun with 120 power, 60 ammo, 450 RPM, 13 seconds reload, 0.5 seconds swap, 200m range, 900 DPS and 6% stagger value. This has solid performance in terms of vulcans with good DPS and stunning in just under 2.3 seconds. It pairs well with your funnels, beam rifle or shield missiles to stagger.
Its second sub weapon is a shield beam cannon with 1800 power, 85% heat, 5 seconds cooldown, 20 seconds overheat, 0.77 seconds swap, 400m range and 10% stagger value. This does modest damage but instantly staggers. This is your go to tool for close range self defence.
Its third sub weapon are fin funnels with 350x6x2 power, 55%x2 heat, 2.5 seconds cooldown, 22 seconds overheat, 0.77 seconds swap, 250m range, 5%x6x2 stagger value and 0.7 seconds lock time. These can be used while boosting and have pretty good damage. They pair well with your beam rifle or vulcans to stagger enemies.
Its fourth sub weapon is a fin funnel barrier with 100% heat, 30 seconds overheat and 0.77 seconds swap. This lasts for 10 seconds and has 3000 HP, but doesn't block melee swings like Phenex or Moon Gundam's barriers.
Its fifth sub weapon is a shield missile launcher with 650 power, 4 ammo, 10 seconds reload, 0.5 seconds swap, 300m range and 35% stagger value. They have high damage and stagger value, so you can use them to stun an enemy or to dump damage on them in combination with other weapons.
The Nu Gundam has 20000 HP and 26 resistances in all categories. It's one of the squishiest 700 cost suits now. It's only buffer skill is a 30% reduction funnel buffer. You aren't bulky enough to frontline so make sure not to take too much risk when close up. It has LV3 Emergency Evasion which makes you consume just 70% thrust for a dodge roll.
It also has 140 walk speed, 220 boost speed, 75 thrust and 81 turning speed. This isn't the best mobility for 700, especially since you only have LV2 Forced Injector and Flight Control. Though this changes at 30% HP once Psychoframe Resonance activates to add +10 walking/boosting speed, -25% thrust consumption, +25 turning speed and -50% funnel lock time. This makes you incredibly slippery and hard to catch while also making your funnels lock on very quickly.
Overall I feel like the Nu Gundam has become a little outdated in the face of advancing powercreep. The low durability and lack of stun resistance makes it an easy target to pick off for suits like Sinanju or Moon Gundam, while the mediocre melee ability makes it not worth using the melee except for knocking over enemies. I think that it deserves a pretty substantial buff. It would be nice if it got +1000 HP, LV1 Maneuver Armor, 80% saber combo modifier, 0.5 seconds saber swap time, 300m funnel range along with 350m range for both the beam rifle and bazooka. But even in its current state I wouldn't say it is weak, just fighting an uphill battle in common 700 cost match-ups. Thanks for watching, and I hope that you enjoyed it!

i definitely agree with the title. well managed Nu Gundam puts out a constant barrage of fire that I don't think any other 700 native gen can match. just requires Ace level aim and positioning lol
I really hope I get a Nu, the regular or FF versions.
Hopefully I'll paint the FF into the Hi-Nu when I get it.
My favorite UC MS It's awesome to see it in the hands of a good player. I only wish the beam saber had an auto-on feature like it did in the movie. That would definitely make it more visually interesting, but it's probably a pain to code.
Really wish they gave it the bazooka escape attack if you have it equipped but love seeing nu gameplay can’t wait to see the video you make for the new one.

I see and use Nu Gundam at 700 a lot more than Unicorns these days, it's remained remarkably consistent.
I do wish it had better melee ability, like using its off hand saber with punches and kicks as a second melee move in order to be more consistent with how it is in the movie, but that'd probably be too overpowered considering how good it is at mid to long range skirmishing. (I mean, it should hypothetically have both its beam rifle AND bazooka available too canonically but I get they have to tone it back for game balance, sort of like how the Zeta should have its HML and expanded grenades but also have its melee options and speed. They gotta hold back the Gundams I guess.)
I sort of felt this way when it first dropped it just has so much coverage of everything you need that it'll remain relevant even when crazier things come out, and the buff certainly helped.
they should give it priority 3 since the Nu saber overpowers the Sazabi beam tomahawk in CCA lol
@@baconflapsmaybe they'll give it the Moon Gundam buff where when you hit 50% HP you get melee priority 3 and psycommu weapons can't be interrupted by NTD system
If the Nu is this good just imagine how the Hi-Nu will be when we finally get it.
While the Hi-Nu ended up being good, it's not like the NuFF where it's a relatively similar suit with some changes.
I'm actually happy to see it be a frontliner with a melee attack that is it's strongest weapon, and a unique way of juggling funnels to increase its power and mobility.
Overall, it actually pairs well with the Nu, especially since the support funnels fire in tandem with whatever ally has them, and the Nu is a perfect suit to constantly fire and get the most from the funnel damage.
With the datamined info that the Nu HWS is eventually coming, I'm looking forward to teams of 4 Nus sending out barrages of funnels and bullets, while being slippery with dodge rolls and keeping up near-constant fire for the Hi-Nu and FF to move in for melee damage.

I agree that this nu gundam could get those hefty buffs like u said on ur video description, but I think Nu gundam doesn't need Maneuver armor imo.
TBH if it doesn't get maneuver armor then maybe more walking speed would be cool, kinda like what Hyaku Shiki got.
@avenger1_gbo260 it could get "anti blast stabilizer" or the fin funnels range buff if you ask me, but that's just my opinion.

It’s a mid-range general unit, so it doesn’t exactly need longer range on the funnel lock-on, though it would be cool

Well PS4 and PS5 can be set to constantly record the past hour of play, giving you the ability to save a portion of that as a video. If I have a good match I will probably record it afterwards so I can make a video out of it.
Question from a Steam newbie: How do you manage suits effectively when there's more than four weapons on them so quickly? I find that it's a bit hard to get access to specific ones if I have to set them to a combination of buttons and the right shoulder in a pinch, or it'll just pick one of the two face buttons instead if I'm doing so in a rush. Is it fine to just cycle through as needed and just use most of them as utility/filler rather than key focus (save for like Megaparticle cannons or the like). I really want to be able to use suits like the Doven Wolf and the Nu, but there's just a LOT of weapons to throw around and it gets overwhelming, especially with things like the Quebely where there's multiple funnel options on top of the double melee weapons in terms of Ple 2's...
Well it all come together in time. Best advice I would have is first learn the order your weapon swap without the shortcut. You don't have to put every weapon on shortcut I would put the weapons that are instant stun for sure. At end day changing your control in general may help cuz I know it help me and put the weapons as shortcut that feel most comfortable for you.
It mainly depends on the suit but you usually cycle through weapons in a combo of sorts. I put the DPS weapon as one of the face buttons and the unique/situation weapons as combination buttons. You could also try changing out your controller layout so that you can aim, boost and shoot at the same without having to claw your controller. Which is why some people have boost set to something like R1 instead of X.

I'm not sure how it work on keyboard, this game doesn't reward just precise aiming, it rewards both movement & just hits
It's a lot more manageable with a keyboard (weapons bound to 1-5) though it's painful if you get 2 or 3 more weapons (I'd probably forget about them when fights get hectic). Would be easier if you could bind extra weapons to mouse buttons.

Would you rate Nu as highly if you don't have the Psycho-Frame custom part? I know it makes a huge difference on suits like Moon Gundam when mixing funnels into a combo
im not avenger ofc but since Nu can boost + lock but doesn't have maneuver armor, obtaining the lock and firing the funnels ASAP is very useful.
Well it is still pretty good even without Psychoframe. It just makes it a little easier to work funnels into combos.
Did you rush to make this after the announcement of a new Nu, or were you already going to make it?
Yeah I was sorta in a rush to make this, but I also had a Sinanju video planned. I knew that a 4 star would be announced today and I had a feeling it would be Rozen Zulu, so I made a Sinanju video in advance. But it turns out they announced Nu FF instead so I played some rounds with Nu this afternoon to take advantage of the announcement.

I'm not sure exactly why, but some players believe that the Nu Gundam needs a buff. What do you think? Buff or keep as is?
I think it can still do ok but it is a little underpowered when compared to other 700 cost generals. A little more HP, more melee combo damage, more range for funnels, more for beam rifle and more for bazooka. Maneuver Armor skill might be nice as well cause every other 700 cost general has access to this skill.

Nu gundam and any suit with NT-D ability is painful to deal in 700 cost

Save up for the banners you want. It is a good idea to save up 195 tokens and wait for the 7 stage 4 star step ups, which guarantees a newly released 4 star MS. You can get strong suits from the DP and recycle tickets store also.
