My GH5 + Rs2 raven eye all good.
Go to HDMI Rec Output
• Info Display - turn it off
• Down Convert - Set to AUTO
MMode C1 C2 C3
All this button each of them set them to costumize button as your desired settings permanently

@@SonerBaysal Your welcome. One more thing, the INFO DISPLAY you can turn it off and on as your desire to be appeared it to your phone screen. And the Down Convert you can set AUTO or 1080p because it wont support 4k. 🙂

exactly the same problem with my fx3, I have to change the HDMI output from Auto to 1080p and it works.

I had this exact same thing with the Canon R5. I tried a bunch of things so not sure which one worked. I set HDMI output resolution to AUTO, I changed HDMI standby lowres to Off, HDMI display to both. Still did not work after all that, but with the raveneye on, I then disconnected the HDMI cable from the camera, and the raveneye app on my phone then said that the hdmi cable was not connected, so I plugged it back into the camera, and all of a sudden its now working! Is it a firmware bug? i dont know but just happy that fixed it. It probably will fail again at some point, I'll let you know if it does.

I would change the HDMI to auto or 1080i. Then after you have hooked up the raven eye and powered it on and the screen is blank. Just unplug the HDMI cable and plug it back in. Walla you have image on the GH5 and the mobile phone. My issue is the Raven I image is not on the gimbal and I don't want to use the mobile phone
I have a lumix s5 but probably all Panasonics are similar. I have trouble with the camera controls over USB. As I power up raveneye I get a black LCD on the lumix. And no way of controlling the focus or starting to record the video etc. Tried many cable configurations and it seems its either raveneye or camera controls, not both. Which is pretty silly imho. Did you notice similar trouble? Is your red button on the gimbal working in this configuration?
I have exactly the same hustle with the GH5 so it's overall problem with Panasonic I guess. If HDMI and Usb-C connected to camera there is always black screen on GH5. It's something to do with firmware is my opinion and it's something to do with Panasonic's live stream software. I think in order to integrate with the live stream software the firmware is closing the camera screen. This is my theory what so ever I am not sure that is the real issue %100. But I just hope Panasonic will fix this issue becouse I am sure it has nothing to do with DJI. My record button works btw on the gimbal which triggers record on GH5 (luckily). It is weird that you have that issue. RS2 supports S5 I believe? It should becouse its way more recent camera.
I am having the same problem!!!! I can't get the gimbal focus motor and my external monitor working at the same time! It works for a while and then the gimbal will stop being able to control through tether.... Did you find a solution? I dont see anyone talking about this... They talk about the camera screen...
What kind of phone are you using? I have a OnePlus 5 and my problem is that the raveneye lights up green and I can't do anything on the phone. It searches for my wifi raveneye, I am connected to it and nothing else, I can't select record, on the phone I have no image or any data.
Thanks for posting this video. When the GH5 dial is set to "M" (movie mode), does the video signal appear on the GH5's screen, too, or just on your phone?
My GH5 screen is disabled when I use the GH5 and my Ronin S (not RS2 or RSC2) connected via HDMI. It doesn't happen if I use a field monitor connected to the GH5 via HDMI, so it's frustrating that DJI disables it when connected to the gimbal.
I tried M and C1-2-3 i dont get video signal on GH5 screen any of the modes. So it is disabled in all these modes.
I am in same situation with DJI RS2 once HDMI is connected to raveneye system GH5 screen disables itself. If usb-C and HDMI is connected same time i am having this problem. If i unplug USB-C leading to RS2 GH5 screen enables itself.
If usb-c connected the DJI RS2 and HDMI connected to external monitor(Atomos Ninja V). Same issue GH5 screen is disabled. In this setup I took HDMI out from Atomos ninja V and connected to DJI raveneye input. This dosent solves the GH5 LCD monitor problem but then i am able to get image to my phone in C1 setting. So i am not stucked with "M" Manual mode if i do this. I recently found this solution and it is not ideal for many people.
So GH5 LCD monitor disable is not related to DJI in my opinion its something to do with GH5 firmware andi dnt think PAnasonic is going to fix this anytime soon but i just hope so. Sure i can use the atomos ninja v but it adds to overall wait and my arms dosent likes it so much :)

@@SonerBaysal So the only way to monitor the GH5 using the HDMI signal is with Raven Eye and a cell phone? That is disappointing, and I wonder if this problem exists with other Panasonic cameras like the S1H.
@@davidp158 yes and it really sucks imo. If you have to change settings it's really annoying. Camera function s are working so quick dials might help and also RavenEye shows the f stop and iso settings but I would prefer to see them on camera which is faster. There is a slight delay on RavenEye so it's not useful for sure. I personally don't own S1H so I can't tell if it works but it feels like it's time to switch from GH5 to more modern camera to don't have such errors. Panasonic could fix this issue with firmware but they haven't and it's not something new. They are too busy to release new cameras to catch the other brands I guess:)

I found solution! All you need - change hdmi rec output in camera menu to “down convert 1080p”
But dji has spesific remote cable for gh5 no?

I have the same problem with my Nikon Z6. I tried nearly every camera Mode, cable configuration. I got it to work one time. And after I changed the battery of the camera it didn't work again. So frustrating.
I think so. These are not cheap tools and when they are giving errors like this it is driving me mad.

I don't know how exactly to fix it on Blackmagic but you should check the HDMI output settings (on camera) and try to change and play with them a little to solve the problem.

Can you explain a little more? I read raven eye wokrs on 1080 hence 4k wont be streamed on hdmi, but how do I keep a 4k for my atomos recording while sending feed to the raveneye?

You can plug HDMI camera out to Atomos HDMI in. Than you can take Atomos HDMI out to RavenEye HDMI in.
So you will have 4K signal in Atomos and RavenEye than there will be no issues.

In mine I had to use usb tether option
Sems its android fail. I use also gh5 and gh5s and with raven eye and iPhone 11 , it works also in c1,c2,c3, USB ask for thetering mode
with m50 figured it out. The problem with black screen is the following ; so the raveneye and the ghimbal are like 2 diffrent products and the wiring has to be totally diffrent. When you want to use the shoot picture and video pr make time lapses when you have the wiring for raveneye you wont be able to do it. Ok let me reformulate it ....
Lets say your camera is turned on for a few minutes you start raven-eye. It says it connected to wifi and ok you get into the soft but what you get ? Everything says connected perfect however you have black screen. The reasoning here is the camera is asleep and the signal it is but its black. So you just push manually make picture on the camera so the camera wakes up from Cinderella sleep and you get signal.
When your within raveneye connected you start and stop pictures videos from mobile. So if screen goes black the odds are its because teh camera its in sleep mode so you wont be able to wake it up from mobile. You will need to push the trigger for a picture on the camera.
And here comes the part that drove me crazy.... so the black screen. So when your within the dgi program and on the upper part is conenct to ghimbal and the lower part its ays conenct to raveneye you dont do it. !!!! DO NOT CONENCT TO RAVENEYE HERE.
You come out from the dji program. (like alt tab if it wouldb be in windows) So you dont close dji but you go to your wifi on mobile. Here you power on your raveneye. Aftera few seconds wifi of raveneye will appear on your phone. AGAIN THATS NOT WITHIN RAVENEYE
You are within your mobile ...list of wifi networks list. and you switch to raveneye. After it says your connected on your phone to raveneye JUST THAN you go back to dji software and select connect to raveneye.
If you dont do this way you will have a black screen !!!!! And if you get a black screen here dont get in panic just trigger the shoot picture on the camera and it will awaken.
p.s.
As a bonus !!! While raveneye is connected the time lapse panorama functions wont work. Or you wont be able to use the trigger on the ghimbal to make picture or video !!! So YOU NEED TO UNPLUG ALL 3 CABLES and put the upper cable from the canon m50 to the port on the ghimbal (there are 3 ports near each other at front...thats the left port it says ) "RSS and picture with camera)
You need to put there the cable else you wont have picture and even if you have the camera wont shoot the pictures.
I would never ever ever would think about that they make the product of the future thats amazing and you need to unplug 3 cables and rewire the whole thing. For me it was unthinkable you actually have to do this.
And the part like you need to press connect to raveneye wifi (outside of dji) wasnt intuitive. Like they mention unconnect the bluetooth etc. Ok . They could have wrote a message as well like saying : go to wireless list and click on raveneye and connect first than come back to djo and select the raveneye .

It is also weird that DJI gimbal and Raveneye works as different units. Which is really odd to me since they made this system for each other and they both released as a kit but somehow they dont like each other which is SUPER weird to me. It slows my workflow to fix them individually. Which can be really annoying if you have to change lenses and re balance the gimbal and such.
Also we are not the only one who is having blackscreen issue i have been seeing many people with different camera brands having black screen issue with Raveneye and their errors are all different and have to change different settings to fix the issue. Overall it is a signal error in general.
I think this Raveneye unit is DJI worst performing gear overall. Which is ironic because it is a well thought future but haven't been engineered enough in my opinion. I am pretty sure their second try will be better but the first try dosent seems to fulfill the Monitor gap so well. Thats why even tho i have the Raveneye i prefer my own Atomos Ninja V Monitor. Which has better colors and more and better settings than Raveneye.
@@SonerBaysal Ah I am new to this so basically my basic understanding its like nothing. I just shoot today some panoramas and motion lapses. Quite impressed about the technology that you can actually require nowadays. Be it full of bugs now or not. One is for sure. We are spoiled and these few hundreds buck equipment can basically replace Hollywood studios.
I still have Casey Neistat's Samsung commercial at the Oscars gala telling about the youtubers basically grabbing their piece of the pie. For me its so strange that even with a help of a 200$ phone you can change an industry. And persons actually do that. It still amazes me. Kids coming out of nowhere with 1k-2k equipment and they b. shame cnn bbc ...abc. Or that persons like no names can rank first on google. I wouldn't have believed it if I wouldn't have seen in my case on my hungarian youtube and such.
I think dji products are not cheap. However if we think that they bring hollywod at a footstep for everyday kids. A few bugs here and there with black screen. Or a few restarts and heavy swearing is nothing compared to the benefits.
So even if some have black screen sometimes it can be done. Just think about the other functions that work. How much it would cost to make them. Probably priceless.
Sadly tried this and my screen is still blank. I tried the HDMI setting to 1080p and nothing as well. Tried all HDMI REC output settings and all mode for camera and nothing. perhaps missed something but not sure what...
I had a similar issue. I had to switch to the M - photo mode to get display on the phone but when I press record, the frame on my phone freezes, video still gets recorded. The display only comes back when I stop recording. Sometimes it also goes black when I press record and video recorded is also black.
Have you tried manual video mode?
@@SonerBaysal Yeah. That's what it was initially on. No display. Also, even with the Manual photo mode, It works if I disconnect the usb c from the gh5 to the gimbal. Then I need to roll using the phone screen but the display works as it should that way and the screen does not freeze. As soon as I connect it back, I get the same issues.

@@AnantRaina when i plug out the usb c that connects the gimbal to camera, there is display on the phone and i can also use force mobile thing, but the recording is saved in the phone only, not on the camera and that too in 1080p.
@@apaarjain Hey Apaar, so I found a solution for this. In HDMI setting you have to constrain the output to 1080p. The Raven Eye is a 1080p device so if HDMI output is set to 4k, it gets messed up.
I got the gh5s An don’t have any picture on the screen when connected to the dji rsc2 I don’t have a raven eye .... has anybody figured this out yet?

I have about the same problem. I have the Ronin RSC2 and it works fine. my Gh5s on it also works fine, I also have an image on my LCD screen. Until I hooked up a monitor. As soon as I switch on the Ronin, my LCD screen goes off and I only have an image on my monitor. And the GH5s together with the monitor provide both images.
Go to HDMI settings on your GH5s and change your HDMI output setting. Try to change it to 1080p if it dosent works try other modes. This should solve your issue. Let me know the result please.

Wow, this sucks. I just got a 5" Osee monitor to go with my GH5 and Ronin RS2. The only way it kind of works is to set the monitor out but if I want to change my preset modes (C1, C2, C3) where I go from my 120fps to 4K/24 to 1080, the monitor controls don't work and I have to power down the gimbal and start over.
The DJI website specifically mentions that HDMI output used with the usb-c to Ronin gimbal will cause the GH5 screen to go dark. This drives me crazy and they need to have a firmware update to fix this!
Till now, disconnecting USB C connection between camera and gimbal, after the connection is established putting the dial to manual mode, allows display on the phone as well as allows recording video into the phone memory itself but in 1080p.
I have the same problems on my canon 80d
Goodness this is such a big problem and DJI doesn't have very good troubleshooting.
I'm on Canon 250d and got it to work eventually last week.. Now this weekend it won't work again. I have no idea why it worked before 😅 will try different things this week.
I don't own Canon 250d so I can't guide you well but I can recommend you to reset your camera to factory settings and try from the beginning.
Don't know if you solved this, but with the 250D, if you get the blank screen issue, hit menu on the camera (you'll see the menu come up on the raveneye connected device) then come out of it and it seems to solve the problem, took me ages to work that one out!
My screen is black, all my settings at 0, it says Raveneye isn't connected, even though its connected in the app. I don't understand. And the led on the Raveneye is green too..!
I've only tried in Auto (on the camera), so it's not a custom setting. I'll try move around there and see what happens.
Let me know the final result. Btw which phone do you use? One of the users were reporting that he had issues with his phone and it worked with different phone. I am not sure what is the requirements to run the RavenEye app.
@@SonerBaysal So I can confirm there is a phone issue. My friend came over and I set it up. Wouldn't work after multiple resets. I'm on android. He tried his iphone just now and it worked instantly. Then afterwards mine worked.
I don't get why it's so random. I got it to work yesterday, but don't know how.. Then today, just put it together again and wouldn't work until my friend connected.
Well, I'm not buying a new phone just for this. They should get their android app working better. Even the error message is in Chinese or something .

Make sure the Bluetooth is closed each time you are connecting to RavenEye.
It's so weird everybody facing issues in different steps and also with different camera and phone models.
DJI has to fix this bazaar system. It was a nice first try.
@@SonerBaysal yeah I always make sure Bluetooth is off. Its something they can fix with firmware update honestly, and proper testing. I think they just pushed this out faster than they should've. It's sad cos at this point it's not a system I can trust. Will see if I can get it to be more consistent, but I doubt it for now.

Looks like the root cause of the Problem for not showing up in the phone is the FrameRate...I tried with my Nikon cameras Z6 and Z9. The moment I reduced the Framerate to 60 or below it shows everything in phone. Happy Shooting Videos.

It's the GH5 error. Both of the ports are being used so camera shots down the screen for some reason. I heard that it wasn't doing this before but after new firmware updates it started to do this. I don't know the main reason but if I don't use the RavenEye I am not facing this issue. Which camera do you use?

After I connect my hdmi and usb-c cables, my camera automatically pops up "USB MODE" and asks if I want to connect to a PC or PictBridge. I can't get past this portion

You need to go into your settings (to the wrench icon) and change the USB setting option to "Ask". Then, whenever you connect the camera to the Gimbal it will ask you how you want to connect to it (PC Storage, PC Tether). Choose PC Tether. This is the proper way to connect the GH5 (and G9) to the R2. It will allow you to control the camera from the gimbal.
Canon user here, same black screen issue experienced and pretty much swapping cables around is the only solution, which was an annoyance after fixing the damn WiFi issue where it made itself 5.8Ghz! I don't know many phones that can support that so £10 later and Dual Band USB WiFi dongle, all fixed... and this is with the RSC2, so nice to see both systems experience this issue.

@@SonerBaysal it is certainly a amazing piece of technology. I couldn't justify it for b-roll alone as my channel is very small. Although I was hoping with selfie mode and tracking I would be able to film myself easier. I'm always blown away by DJI and their vast superiority with technological feats
@@PizzlesTechTime I am planing to get the 3D focus module for the RS2 to film myself. I am using Sigma 18-35 with GH5 %95 of my content. I haven't activated AF on GH5 for ages. 3D module might be solution for the AF required situations. Are you haven't good results with 12-60 native lens with yours? It's mind blowing to see how much technology DJI can fit in to their products.
