well, i prefer brushed stainless or even mirror finish, i can do a little polishing job with hand (no professional tools) to eliminate fine scratches. im wondering how to do it with this kind of finishing
I think it would be easier to checkout some of the other watches in this collection. They have the exact same dial/hands, but case finishing is different. Look at the SRPG29 as an example.

These are great watches, hard to find such good dials at this price level. I got the grey SRPG37K1 and put a double domed sapphire on it, that brings out the dial even more. 🙂
I'll bet that's awesome! Yeah, after just a couple days of wearing I'm already noticing that this hardlex crystal appears more cloudy than a nice piece of sapphire. Good move.
Also you can change the pattern of the stonewash depending on the medium used. A finer lighter pattern with smaller rounder stones and larger deeper scratch pattern with heavier sharper stones.
It looks great on this case! Perfect for daily wear, but it doesn't look scuffed up enough that you couldn't wear it as a semi-dress watch. That might be why they paired it with this great leather strap...
I'm loving the shimmer from the indices. All of my Seiko purchases (except one that I bought as a gift) have been NOS deals, close outs, or second hand. It's the way to do it!
I have one I paid full retail for and it is a decent watch for under $300 really like the dial and hands and that leather strap is nice but it is a tough choice at full price when there is so much competition in the market. Sub $200 would have been a more appropriate price imo, and $100 is a really good price almost a no brianer buy nice score
I can definitely see your standpoint. I put a link in the description for $185 on Amazon, and that seems like a good price to me. Full retail when the watch first came out is not out of this world crazy, but yes lots of choices at that price point.

Great video 👍. I bought this watch at the end of last year. It retailed for £260 (now for £280) but I managed to pick one up for £200 so pleased with that. Although, mine doesn't say Made in Japan. It looks like only some countries got that version. The UK version doesn't state the country.
If it wasn't made in Japan your reference number is probably SRPG39K1. This just denotes that it isn't of Japan origin. I believe the K versions are made in Singapore/Malaysia, but don't quote me on that. There is really no difference, at least at this price point, but I always prefer the "made in Japan" label. I would definitely consider a K version for a much lower price, or flat out buy a K if J wasn't available. It's just a preference...

what you make of the writing at 6 o'clock? One I've found doesn't say "made in Japan" instead it mentions the movement model and there's some code, looks like "10v4 R8 2". that's puzzling, maby yours is some kind of promotional version.
Read through the comments and you'll see another thread talking about this. What I always thought to be the case was the models that have K1 at the end of their reference number, likely the one you found, are NOT made in Japan, and the others that have "Made in Japan" on the dial ARE. But there are many opinions about the validity of that. Fact, though, the K1 versions are generally a little cheaper than their counterparts that have "Made in Japan" on the dial.
I personally prefer this one, but I haven't owned a Bambino. I think it's just down to which ever one you like better...both great watches, with the Bambino being a little more dressy.
So i changed the Crystal, and maaaan is it a much better looking watch! I dont know what Seiko is doing over there, but i recommend changing the hardlex for a top hat sapphire! And the blue AR with that blue dial is a perfect match!
I like this watch. I looking at the Sunburst Blue Dial version, online, for around 200 bucks, but I am turned off by the Hardlux crystal. I saw one of Your Viewers had replace Theirs with Sapphire. Would be nice to know How or Where he did that, and how much it cost's?
The Hardlex isn't too bad. I DO think a sapphire crystal would be much clearer and make this piece pop even more, though. You can probably find a watchmaker or modder in your area to do the replacement for you. Check Facebook groups, Reddit, Instagram, etc.

Just got one of these a week ago, and it's running about one minute fast each day. Any thoughts on if this is normal or not, and if not, any thoughts on how to resolve the problem? Thanks
This is not normal. I usually try not to get too caught up on accuracy during the run in period, but this is definitely outside of tolerance, so I would be upset too. If you have options with the seller, you might try that. But there's a good chance your movement has just become magnetized. Search steps for demagnetizing and that could be a good route for you. The NH36 can vary within tolerance from one movement to the next, but on average I've got a bunch of NH series movements that are in the +/- 10 second per day range.
@@WatchWitt Thanks for your feedback. I resynced it today and will do another check tomorrow to see if it's still off, or if I was just imagining it. I got it from an online retailer that shares its name with a Brazilian rainforest, so may need to just return it. :)
What are you using to get your readings? I recommend the app called WatchTracker. Pretty solid and easy to use. This is a perfect situation for Amazon's easy returns! But, you definitely should become familiar with how a movement becomes magnetized and the steps to correct it. It may not be the case with this watch, but it WILL happen to you at some point. Way too many magnets in our lives for it not to! 😂
@@WatchWitt I was just using the cheap method of eyeballing it over a 24hourish period, but installed Watch Tracker and doing it properly now. So far after 12 hours it's only 12 seconds ahead. Thanks for the info on Watch Tracker app.
Excellent! That reading is a little more expected. You'll notice that your readings will vary depending on wear rate, and how often you take the readings. I like to allow at least 24 hours between readings, and mark it within 10 minutes of fully wound.
Great price! I don't have any links to share, but I've put this on a black Tropic style FKM strap and it looks great! I also have a video coming up featuring it on a black sailcloth strap from ARTEM straps. But I also really enjoy this leather strap that it comes on. She says this looks cool if it has blue leather strap or coffee color. Cause the Amazon product does say it comes in blue strap but I know it doesn't. Which is why I asked you for straps. Please add in a different color other than black as well. Might be more to ask but can you show the switching of the strap in the video as well. I agree with her...blue or coffee color would look good too. The holes on the side of the watch, near the strap, are referred to as "drilled lugs." You can insert a small pointed tool into them to release the tension on each of the springbars to release them. Most of your replacement straps will feature quick-release springbars...no tools needed.
I have this watch and it’s really cool but every reviewer including you is baffled by the finishing of the case. It specifically states in the specs of the watch on the seiko website that the case is distressed.
The listing I saw on Seiko's website (link in description) just says "stainless steel case." And it doesn't appear too distressed in photos. It doesn't in person to me, either. Like I mentioned in the video, it has more of a pewter appearance, to me. I think of distressed as "worn," more like this: th-cam.com/video/mKBAW0Tiv0U/w-d-xo.html

The case finish is stonewashed. It’s fairly common on folding knife blades and titanium handles. It looks nice and hides scratches fairly well.

Thanks! Yeah, that's where I think the clarity of a sapphire crystal would help too. But all and all I'm fine with this hardlex.
