I never had my eye on a Seiko Turtle until it showed up in a catalog for one of those work anniversary gifts. I got one of the blue Save the Ocean ones. And I love it. Made me a total fan of the Turtle. Wears like a dream and looks fantastic.
Great video on Seikos. Thanks. I have way too many seikos. Mostly divers. Started with a skx. Moved on to turtles, samurai, monsters, willards. Tremendous value in seiko divers , even conpaired to micro brands. You get a ok work horse movement, with a superior case. Most of mine are jdm models. Seem to have good quality control. Took the plunge into the SLA line of divers. The ever brilliant steel models are special. Last watch i bought was the GS sbgx033 from Japan. Older vintage has my love right now.
Out of my collection my two Seiko’s are my black 4rth gen monster and my older blue Seiko 5 SNK 807. I like Seiko when they do things a little out of the ordinary. I would add a steel “Arnie” to those as a quartz option and to keep things unique.
I was so delighted to see that your website has grown. congratulations teddy. Hope in the future you are able to secure more brands. Peace and blessings and much success. Not just to your TH-cam channel. But With your business endeavors also.
4:23 The Seiko Prospex GMT is a absolute sleeper pick! Solar quartz is arguably the best movement for a GMT watch, and the sumo case wears surprisingly well even on small/medium wrist. I own the JDM pure black version with a red GMT hand (SBPK003) and sits perfectly on my 6.5 inch wrist thanks to its manageable lug-to-lug of 51.8mm. The 20mm lug width also makes it a strap monster. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a GADA "set it and forget it" watch! I got mine second-hand for 375 USD which is an absolute steal for a true GMT watch with sapphire glass and ISO rating.
Picked up a MAMACOO's watch as my first watch last month and I’m absolutely in love with it. Perfect size, looks elegant, very comfortable. Now my only problem is holding off from buying more watches so quickly!
Thank you, Teddy! I’ve owned 5 watches so far and they’ve all been Seiko. A few notable mentions have been the enamel dial, SPB143, and my newest acquisition 62MAS recreation SJE093 which I’m so excited for. Your channel has been such an influence in my enthusiasm for watches.
Teddy, I have a lot of appreciation for you. I know your target market is the lower - mid range. However, you present these watches without ego. As well as the understanding that any watch at any price can be a person's main piece. Thank you.
Not a Seiko fan but definitely the best video I've ever seen representing some of their line. Always enjoy the informative nature of these videos. Changing minds one watch at a time.
@@mikojYT interesting reply to what I said, there's nothing wrong with the Phillies I just happen to like the Giants better. When did I say something was wrong with Seiko. Fanboy much. 🤯
bought my first watch ever to celebrate my masters degree. Got myself a Seiko presage cocktail time with the 40h time reserve, and it was on discount (green dial with leather strap). Its an amazing watch.
got my 39mm with the white dial on the 3-link "Bader" bracelet watch on MAMACOO 3 weeks ago and am loving it to pieces. Absolute fantastic watch that wears super comfortable on my 6.75 inch wrist. Chose the 3-link over the 5-link bracelet for the toolless quick adjustment. Way more comfortable than my Longines Hydroconquest 41 mm.
My current three Seikos in the watch box: Aston SS005J1, Alpinist SBDC087 (SPB117), Diver SBDC101 (SPB143) - - Seiko recently announced the SPB453 (black dial) to be released June 2024, Now, I plan to replace the SBDC101/SPB143 with SPB453 as it has better dial symmetry with a full-size lumed marker at 3:00 and moves the date with black background to 4:30 position.
@@luqmans7 not yet, but I still plan to purchase the SPB453, just now in August/September after a relocation is final - I also intend to sell the SPB143 - I like the grey sunburst dial color of the SPB143, but I prefer the 4:30 date location with black date wheel of the SPB453; also the black dial of the SPB453 is more versatile for me - It’s really just a dial aesthetic and symmetry preference for me.

First, sorry to see you couldn't fit a Monster in any of the collections so here comes my collection. Diver: SKX779 "Black Monster Gen 1" If I can't have a Monster I will not do it at all... Field/EDC: SSK023 I love the look of this "Poor mans explorer" Chrono/Dress: SRQ037 Great looking chrono!
I love Seiko and the variation of watches it has for a one brand collection. However, I think they are becoming overpriced and a bit boring. They bring out a "New" watch, and they call it special edition to charge more, yet they can't even throw in a Sapphire crystal most of the time. They are a bit boring for me because their most affordable line, the Seiko 5, has been riding the wave with its predecessor, the Skx. Early Seiko 5s had a watch design for everyone, field, pilot, dress, diver, and casual with different variations on the dials and hands.
I’m kind of surprised with the lack of Sharp Edge collection considering how popular this watch was 1-2 years ago. It was a watch I was thinking about buying the most for quite some time. Nevertheless I have pretty much no problem with your choices Teddy. Nice video, looking forward to other brands
No mention of the SARX055 Baby Snowflake? It is one of the most gorgeous watches Seiko makes, but I don't think I've ever seen it on any of your seiko lists.
I've recently began my obsession as a watch collector. And i must say- out of all the luxury brands I've been researching, for me the MAMACOO's watches are the most intriguing.
I have the SPB381 and yes, it wears smaller than the specs. A very comfortable presence on the wrist. In fact, personal opinion is that the only Seiko brother that beats this is the SPB297.
Add one more kinda of Seiko collector…”The Limited/Special Edition Collector”. I know I personally have started to buy the limited or special editions of the popular models…king samurai, save the oceans, peanuts, etc…
I just got into watch collecting. I've loved watches since I was young but I never had anyone teach me or bring deeper into the world. amzwatch brought closer to a community and hobby I always wanted to get into more and that is incredibly meaningful to me !
I would love to see an “end of the world” perfect watch. It would have to answer the following qualities: - very limited service, if none!! - no batteries as you could not found extra ones (but solar is allowed) - resistant to shocks - water resistant minimum 200m - good visibility by night - no extra strap allowed ☠️
My watch collection consists of 6 Seikos with the metronome watch as the dress watch. I replaced the bands on all of them. I purchased one of the watches from Teddy. If I buy more my preference is to buy from him.
Having seen so many analog watches, from cheap to high-end, and having owned around 100 watches, one looks like the other to me now. I seem to have lost that retro vibe that goes hand-in-hand with analog timepieces. Therefore I just bought a Suunto Core black/red and I'm happy as I haven't been in a long long time 🧡 Nonetheless I love your channel and will anways watch! Cheers!
I’ve got my first seiko and first automatic watch to add to my collection the Seiko watch I got is the Seiko SRPK33K it’s beautiful watch my collection mainly contains quartz watches, or solar watches. It’s great to have an automatic in the mix and I’ve definitely got the Seiko bug I’m getting some more Seiko watches throughout this year. My next seiko watch I’m getting is the Seiko Prospex Speedtimer SSC813P Panda dial I absolutely love my watches. I love Seiko watches. I’m going to add plenty of them to my collection
Would you be interested in doing a decade by decade history of watches? I really like the look of modern heritage-inspired watches but I think I miss so many of the references.
Great video, very accurate analysis. In my 4.5 years in the game as a watch collector and enthusiast, I collected a lot from MAMACOO I was thinking I was able to get a blue SD but I'm not vip enough, but I'm not giving up. Hehe. Great video.
Sieko 5 gmt doesn’t automatically update the time when worn. Although i set up the time, date and gmt once. Do I need to change the time every time I wear it??
What if you are a woman? You can’t use those collection ideas if you are trying to match your outfits as well. Maybe a collection flexible enough to accommodate clothing worn based on weather, activity, time of year, color palate, and dress occasion?
Seiko has some BEAUTIFUL dress watches in their presage line marketed for women. Smaller diameters closer to I think 34mm and the dials are stunning more on the warmer colour tones but still lots of options. U also have some nice options in the 38mm seiko 5 sports and I'd say check out some of their quartz off3rings. TONS of watches that are super versatile even a cartier tank look alike
@@MyNameIsGhost I agree the Presage line has very attractive options, but where are my dive watch options inside Seiko? Sports options? Seikos lines regulate my choices almost exclusively to dress occasions. Strangely enough back in the day this was not the case. Zodiac had the lady sea wolf (which I own), and other manufacturers usually made ladies options with their most popular lines. Of course the “men’s” watches back then would be considered women’s options today. I have a large wrist for a woman at 7 inches. So popular opinion dictates I could wear most of these watches, except I think popular opinion is obnoxiously wrong. I can’t shake that these watches look clownish to me, but I recognize my opinion is an outlier. My limit is 36mm. I’ve told myself that I would make an exception to 38 mm if the occasion warrants, so far haven’t seen anything that I feel I could wear without feeling stupid and I look at watches daily. Industry wide I have options, like the Breitling SuperOcean 36, as an example of being on my lust list. Also, there is the micro brand Abington which caters to active women. I am a big fan of vintage watches as well. It is just frustrating to keep looking at beautiful designs but I can’t buy them without feeling that I’m wearing Captain America’s shield on my wrist.
Oh yeah homie. I love my Seiko Presage Blue Moon. The Camera does not do it justice. It’s way better looking in person. I got a Super Cub too. Two is enough. I gotta stop. 😂
Seiko is cool, but damn their watches are so expensive for what you get. There are many Chinese watches providing better quality, sapphire crystal and their seiko movements better than themselves. If you doubt about Chinese watches, Timex well renowned brand has a diver with seiko nh35 for 220 CAD
My favorite 2024 is the Prospex Limited Edition 1965 Recreation European Exclusive in Gradation Island Blue. The dial is stunning and the contrast when on a white strap is to die for. I will get my hands on one from MAMACOO
I’ve watched many of your videos. Recently I discovered a brand that has a tenth. The Chinese brand was founded in 1988. TIANWANG brand of Hong Kong listed company. I ordered a dive watch. 200 meters waterproof automatic mechanical watch. Product quality is very good. the most important is. They provide two years of after-sales service. If there is any problem, just replace it with a new one. Makes me very at ease. I'd love for you to do a video on it. I think it's really worth it
My actual one is as follows: - SKX007 black dial - Prospex Alpinist "shark tooth" black dial - Presage Style 60s GMT champagne dial (Then some Casios and a solar chrono Citizen to round it up)
Hello Teddy, even though this channel addresses mostly men’s watches, I like watching your videos. Would you consider making a video discussing 38mm diameter watches?
As a Seiko lover, I appreciate your take on collecting and these categories. Traveling home to Ohio next summer and hoping to bump into you for a wrist check 😊.
Hello and thanks for this video Teddy. Seiko stills a serious brand with famous design and really good movements. But to have a collection of various watches but from just one brand, what's the point?
I think the Presage Sharp Edge models don't get the love they deserve. I'm particularly drawn to the SPB309J1, the open-heart hemp leaf pattern. 6r38, gorgeous dial and hands with subtle blue accents, 100m water resistance and good lume. Incredible value, versatility and design.
I love Seiko designs. They make up the bulk of my collection; currently own 9. But I am so over the 4R movement. I have 4 with the 4R and they all tend to run at the edge of their specs gaining or losing 5 minutes a week. For something made to be a daily wear watch, they are just too inaccurate to want to wear daily. Is the 6R that much more expensive to make? My 6R movements are so much better that they are my daily wear watches with some version of a quartz being my occasion wear. The 4Rs barely see any wrist time anymore.
I just got into watches. I'm a little irritated that I missed out in the era of OG Seiko 5. I'm still buying NOS Seiko 5 watches until I no longer can. That being said, I have the SRPE53 "dressKX" and it's my most worn watch. Teddy must have been reading my mind cuz I've been thinking about just doing a Seiko only collection based on quality and affordability.
I absolutely love watches, the high end watch brands are out of my budget but the AMZWATCH has literally an almost duplicate of every single watch on the market . Always a great but no matter your budget.
You need two watchboxes, one for Seiko, one for everthing else.
Gold. Absolute gold.
Yup. This is my reality.
Definitely
For me, the same applies to Casio!
Seiko rules
Please do Citizen version too Teddy, I think sometimes they are too underappreciated
I juts feel the same.
True. They have replaced Seiko in being the best value for money (mainly because of the price hike. Otherwise Seikos are still great)
Nah Seiko still beats them out every time. Citizen is just something they sell at JC Penny and Macys
I have 2 for Seikos 😂😂😂
Love it! Pls do one on longines and omega!!!
Would love to see one on Omega.
Seconded on Longines
I would also love to see both of those!

Rocking my classic SNXS in blue dial today. Also a rare version in the US and Eu, it has Arabic alt weekdays
I loved the video format Teddy!
Hello and thanks for this video Teddy. Seiko stills a serious brand with famous design and really good movements. But to have a collection of various watches but from just one brand, what's the point?
That was fantastic !
I am a Tissot lover, advocate and collector so most of my watches are Tissot but ooooooooh, I could get into Seiko too…
This is SO FUN. I know Seiko is a versatile brand, but my god.
Where do you get an SSK023 that is made in Japan? Mine is cased in China.
The new 5KeXplorer looks great 👍.
I absolutely love watches, the high end watch brands are out of my budget but the AMZWATCH has literally an almost duplicate of every single watch on the market . Always a great but no matter your budget.
Great video. That looks like a fantastic watch for the price.
Any thoughts on the German brand Tourby? Cant find much information online. Nice watches and value (if you don’t care for resale) seems good.
