    I heard that sustainable weight loss isn’t about not eating, it’s about what you’re adding to your everyday diet. You can have the cookie, but make sure to eat and drink veggies/fruit/water prior to having the cookie- something to fill you so you don’t binge the whole cookie package. Moderation really is key. I’m learning this to be true….

      It's all about portion size, quality of meats, what food(s) you regularly eat and of course combining exercise too
      I'm just barely into my exercising and slowly throwing out all my junk food and Coca Cola then instead drinking tea, lemon water, and eating healthier sides and snacks, cuz I already eat lean and healthy meats since I love to bbq

      It's just calories. Most people can't sustain their weight loss regimen because they think they have to eat bland low calorie food. I've seen it a bunch of times. You just have to play around with food and see what you like. At the end of the day losing weight is just calories in vs calories out at a high level. People aiming to lose weight should not be so restrictive of their diet. It's really only necessary for Bodybuilders who are trying to burn as much fat as possible and they are already in the 1% of the 1% of people who have single digit body fat.

    Don't forget, it's not specific foods! It's how many calories you eat. Eat below your caloric maintenance level and you'll lose weight. Eat above it and you'll gain weight. And there's no way to target specific areas of fat, you just have to lose it all. You can eat McDonalds every day and lose weight, but you won't get proper nutrients, and that's why you should eat natural healthy foods.
    If you hit a plateau in your fat loss, start zig-zagging your caloric intake, google that to find out more. There are no secrets, it probably just seems to simple to be true. Just eat less calories, and stay nourished

      @Jay Johnson Eh I guess if you’re in a jam. They list calories and macros now? Asking because I haven’t done a fast food place since a teenager. I would still prepare my own food if you have the time because you’ll know exactly what’s going in it. Not sure if you just were trying to point that but the rest is pretty factual.

    • @chad5577
      @chad5577 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @Jay Johnson There is a lot more to it than that. McDonalds uses a canola blend oil to fry their foods at a very high heat, creating advanced glycation endproducts in foods linked with cancer. That’s just one out of 5 or so other reasons i can explain.

    • @SilvaDreams
      @SilvaDreams 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      @@chad5577 I don't think you know what you are talking about.. Glycation is when a sugar bonds with a protein or lipid which happens naturally within our own bodies and how it moves sugars through our blood. What you might be thinking of.. MAYBE is polymerization but they don't have the oil NEARLY high enough to do that which is around 500-800*F and at max the frying oil is only 375*F.
      Personally I'd prefer if they went back to beef tallow, everything tasted so much better and despite the long standing and proven false (Literally months later in the 90's) lie that is was bad for you.

    • @ANTSEMUT1
      @ANTSEMUT1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You'll generally lose weight from the part of the body you most recently gained fat on, and it works down from there. Not a hard and fast rule but is true most of the time.

    Broccoli is great for heart health as it contains fibers, fatty acids and vitamins that help regulating blood pressure in the body. This also helps in reducing bad cholesterol, hence leading to a healthy heart👍

      and it tastes like shit

    • @SilvaDreams
      @SilvaDreams 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bit off there it's not eating more veggies of some kind that reduces "bad" cholesterol (There actually is no such thing really) it's that you are no longer eating too much of it since our bodies don't actually stop absorbing at any one point which is why you can actually intake lethal amounts of vitamins as well (Or why you can literally drown from drinking too much water and thinning your blood to the point to suffocate... That is very, very hard but it has happened a few times due to oddities like a mental illness)
      Also too much fiber is bad for you as it will cause constipation and cause gas as there are two types of fiber. Soluble and non-soluble, the non-soluble is like the tough fibers in broccoli and celery that makes those strings, that doesn't readily break down in your gut for a long time and can just sit there rotting for a while while.

    It's awesome that you mentioned spices. If you're looking for spice blends, I use McCormick & Webber ones almost every time I cook, so I'll recommend some: If you like spicy like me, a favorite of mine is Webber's Kick'n Chicken. It's awesome for chicken (obviously) and eggs. I even use it on fish and in some veggies! Their Chicago Steak seasoning is awesome in lean ground beef! Two of my favorites from McCormick that are great with chicken or eggs are their Motreal Chicken & Bacon Chipotle. Mrs. Dash's Table Blend is awesome with eggs & veggies too! Just watch out for ingredients you could be allergic to.

      Great suggestions on those seasoning mixes, but I HAVE to take this opportunity to mention my personal fav... Tony Cachere's Creole Seasoning. I put that stuff on EVERYTHING, pretty much all the stuff I used to put salt & pepper on. And they do make a low sodium version as well, so that's not a bad option. But either way, it's still less sodium (for me) than what I'd be getting in an equal amount of salt... and waaay more flavor.

    One thing he fails to mention while recommending all these "filling" foods that contain mostly water is, excess water generally passes through you and you pish it out in about 20 minutes, leaving only whatever volume of the food left in your stomach, which if the food is 95% water, only 5% "anything else" is left, so you'll be hungry again half an hour or so later.

    Just a heads up for the knuckleheads, popcorn in calorically dense. About 75g/100g carbs and plus the butter/oil added is about 15g/100g. Therefore 100g of popcorn is about 450 calories... Equal to a typically fat loss meal. 100 g of popcorn is equal to a meal weighing 300-400 grams at 450 calories. Next person to say popcorn is good for fat loss, throw them out of the window

    • @Nghilifa
      @Nghilifa 2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      He specifically mentioned popcorn without added butter/oil. It IS possible to make it without adding any fat, the problem is that it's difficult to make the salt stick to it without it. Popcorn without salt isn't any good. A regular bag of popcorn here in Norway is about 490kcal per 100g. One portion is 30g so the amount of kcal you consume is about 147 kcals. The bag itself contains 75g of popcorn, so the total amount of kcal you consume is about 367.5 kcals. So it's basically the same as a light meal.
      At the end of the day, it all depends on how much calories you need to eat though, so if you're obese for example, and your maintenance kcal is about 3500kcals, and lets say that you want to consume 2800 kcals a day instead, you can then eat a 700kcal breakfast & lunch, 900kcal dinner (which amounts to 2300kcal) and that leaves 500 kcal for whatever you want. So that would enable you to eat that entire bag of popcorn every day until you plateau, and thus have to "recalibrate" your caloric intake. Whether you should do that is another thing, but it's perfectly doable.

      We're all living on the idea that butter (not margarine which is pure crap) and salt are bad. Time to do more digging into scientific peer reviewed articles on health. Time to learn that the meat head in the US that labeled fats as bad in the 1960s and created the food pyramid was not a doctor and knew nothing of actual food value. But most bought it hook line and sinker. Been doing keto light for some time and my numbers have never been better. Eating more fats and proteins and light carbs is the way humans were created and ran for 1000s of generations. The agricultural revolution is less than 10 generations old (1 generation is 25 years).
      What started a serious increase since the food pyramid (which is nothing more than a pyramid scheme...joke intended)? Cancer, heart conditions, strokes, birth defects...and the list goes on and on.
      Was your "healthy" diet created by a bureaucrat? If following the agricultural revolution and the pyramid...the simple answer is yes.

    Hye im a level one chef and i want to correct a mistake in the video :
    some spices have calories and contain bad stuff in them. for example i know that most of the paprika that sold (especially if it is not a smoked paprika) is made mostly with oil.
    another example is chicken soup (the spice). it contains a lot of monosodium glotomat, which is a thing that make taste feels stronger. and it is a highly unhealthy thing to use, especially be carefull from it when you drinking soups, some places use a lot of chicken soup or something simillar just to make their soup taste stronger.

    • @SighNaps
      @SighNaps 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      How would you make paprika from mostly oil? Paprika is a powder produced from crushing and milling dried peppers. The word Paprika is Hungarian for pepper. The process usually involves stacking peppers in large plastic mesh bags to cure. Once dry they are crushed and then milled into powder and packaged. I don't see how large amounts of oil would be involved in that process, it's relatively simple and straight forward.
      MSG (monosodium glutamate) isn't unhealthy unless it is consumed in excessively high amounts. The ingredient was demonized in the 90's and early 2000's by pseudoscientific "experts" and health trend adherents. Many studies have been done and it was found that consumption of MSG limited to 10g/kilo of food had absolutely no negative impact on health, which is why it became the number the EU set as their food safety standard. Most people would have to eat about 3g of MSG (with no food, just the MSG) in one sitting to feel any side effects.

      MSG is not harmfull in any way

    • @droe2570
      @droe2570 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nope.
      MSG is not unhealthy. It is a salt derived from L-glutamate. When you consume it, your body turns it back into its original form before absorbing it.
      Paprika is dried and crushed/milled pepper. As it is a powder, oil is not used because that would make it wet, and paprika is sold as a dried powder.

    • @SighNaps
      @SighNaps 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@droe2570 I always tell people that MSG is the anchovy of spices. Its purpose is to elevate already present flavors. What a lot of people don't know is that in things like anchovies, mushrooms (truffles especially), fermented soy sauce etc. MSG occurs naturally in significant amounts. In my entire life I have never met someone who has a serious health condition, and when asked what caused it, responded "Oh, doctors said the anchovies, mushrooms, soy sauce did me in with the MSG".

    a question though. i am on a diet and i am doing some biking on a home trainer (usually about 2 hours a day) i had 101 kg before and 100,5 kilos after the workout i ate some fish with rise and coleslaw (pure with onions no fancy dressing) the plate was 497g. drank some water and milk and the next day, bam 3 kilos more....is that normal? i feel like i destroyed my progress by eating something...

      @florianfrueh totally normal. It's just water weight and can easily change from day to depending on what you eat. If you like health and fitness info you should check out the mind pump podcast for the best fitness advice anywhere right now. They tell people to stay away from a ton of cardio and focus on strength training to rebuild the metabolism

      That's not how weightloss or weight gain works. Measure you weight once a week. You gain weight due to a calory surplus and lose it due to a calory deficit. It's quite a difference if you eat 1kg or banana or 1kg of nuts. Measuring your fat daily isn't recommendable as small things like water retention can throw you off. And don't weight yourself during the day, makes no sense.

      Don't weigh yourself other than in the morning to get consistent readings. Liquid intake will make your weight change throughout the day. Then even when you sleep you are going to sweat out some of the liquids as well as from going to the bathroom.

    Definitely should becareful titling your videos like this with false information
    Doesn't matter what the food is, if you overeat/over consume and end up in a calorie surplus, you WILL gain weight and if you do not exercise or move around a lot you're more likely to have your body store that extra energy (calories) as fat. Granted, some foods are pretty hard to overindulge on but scientifically your title is a lie.

    Celery very filling omgggggg. You said it was 95% water then concluded it with the assertion that it was filling. Possibly one of the dumbest statements in human history. Why do you think people add cheese or peanut butter, besides flavour, to celery? To make it filling. This is just absurd

    • @loraine2852
      @loraine2852 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Quick question, if you drink 2 big cups of water do you feel like you’re stomach is fuller? I certainly do, and the fact it’s crunchy also adds to the way you’re brain views what u ate. The fact you add heavily caloric things to your healthy food, which will make it more filling cus more food, doesn’t mean just celery isn’t filling. Maybe not for you but that’s probably because you’re body is used to processed foods like cheese and peanut butter.
