I came to the USA, and when I went to different churches I was surprised and sad that so many so-called Christian churches did not follow what is in the Bible. This is the first time I have seen a video explaining the reasons for why. Thank you and may God Bless you.
This was a fabulous interview! Thank you, Allie and Costi! What I appreciated most is Costi’s commitment to the Bible as the ultimate authority and how he kept going back to “what does the Bible say”. I’d love to hear a “part 2” of this discussion, as I’m sure you two could keep going! Looking forward to reading his new book!
I find it a little disconcerting that Allie will speak of a specific Bible teacher not specifically holding to the Bible's position on justice without naming her. There's nothing wrong with saying a teacher, who generally sticks to biblical positions, holds a different position so we can be alert if we listen to their teaching.
Costi Hinn is the only person I know of who has challenged prosperity preachers and his work is so appreciated. I used to work for Benny Hinn in Orlando in the department that received donations. We were paid $5.25 per hour and we were required to tithe 10% of that. The administrator was found to have stolen a large amount of money while having an affair with someone in the ministry although he was married. Benny’s right hand man who accompanied him everywhere was a heroine addict and died from an overdose. Another man who took care of Benny’s children as well as attended all crusades also a heroine addict and also died of an overdose while serving in the ministry. Benny was flirtatious.I helped to interview those who had been on stage and all I can say is that the results were not convincing. Mrs. Hinn was so snobby not acknowledging someone’s hello. She was not a very kind pastor’s wife. It’s well documented that Benny’s son beat up a blind person at a crusade. Benny was an absentee dad by his own admission. I feel Benny could be a sociopath. He has absolutely no guilt or remorse for fleecing sometimes very poor people who send in there last dollar. He’s destroyed his children by being such a terrible example. Thank you Costi!
Great interview. I’ve never heard of Costi Hinn but I will surely listen to him from now on. I knew of his uncle and all the other prosperity gospel preachers and knew to stay away from them. So happy to know that he is out of it. The Lord is good always even when we are afflicted. He is sovereign.

Yes, but Word of Faith ministries are myopic in preaching that prosperity must come while we're still on earth. The prosperity here is nothing compared to what awaits us in Heaven. And some of the scripture discussing prosperity is actually talking about what will happen to us after this earth passes away. Any pastor emphasizing prosperity is at least preaching a distraction when what should be taught is repentance and holiness, and they're ignoring the verses discussing wealth as an idol and a possible path to destruction.
Job's wealth was returned but not because of anything he did. If it had not been returned to him, he still would have worshipped has it not passed. That's the difference.
Rightly dividing the Bible solves this confusion for me. God made a covenant with Israel in the Old Testament that if they would obey him, they would enjoy physical blessings on the earth. I am a Christian living in 2021. The biblical emphasis of my blessings are spiritual in nature. I do not hope for an earthly kingdom as the Jewish people did. My hope is heavenly. I am not promised physical healing. The promises made even in the gospels to the 12 apostles about things coming to pass if asked in Jesus’ name should be viewed in their historical context of the kingdom being imminent. I pray to God for everything as he instructs us too, but I do not hold Him to promises that were not addressed to me (though they are in the Bible addressed to others) as a new creature in the Body.

Just don't do it in front of a weaker unenlightened brother who might take offense.) Paul progressed away from Jesus' sayings, Jesus' teachings, and Jesus' instructions. “Progressive Christianity” started with Paul.

I would much rather store up my treasures in heaven than be healthy here on earth. All that focus on money is making many people who follow the prosperity gospel far too attached to this life and this realm.
"America First" was well meaning, God Bless President Trump, however it has to be Christ First to Save & M.A.G.A and to seriously drain that filthy swamp.

Here’s the main problem with the prosperity gospel. And Jesus said to him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head. Luke 9:58. If in fact people believe that Scripture is inerrant, then there is no room to believe that Jesus had earthly wealth. In fact, he was poor. Were being poor not God’s will for anyone, then God himself was indeed jipped (by His Own Self) when He walked the earth. Jesus did not come to distribute earthy wealth to his “followers.” Indeed all we need is supplied in Christ Himself and WAY too much Scripture says so without being vague about it.
Tired of people lumping all of the prosperity Teachers together. Many of them teach that you have to obey and walk in God's way of doing things. I have not heard them say name and claim it...But encouraging people to Praise God and Thank him for all the blessing he has given them. I hear them say to walk in love towards one another.
"Name it and Claim it" is shorthand for: "If you have Faith as of a mustard seed, then ( fill in the _____ ) will be given to you." The teachers who instruct to "Be specific", i.e. a certain expensive car, a large expensive house, material possessions, and other blessings, are in effect teaching to Name-It-Claim-It. "Blessings" can be of a non-material reaping, which such teachers don't spend too much time talking about. Hence, a problem or outright heresy.
I once made the error of critizing 'prosperity preachers' until i listened carefully to what some of them say in context , especially regarding the exchange on the cross according to the scriptures. Some a genuine some are out for profits.
Derek Prince and many others . It’s unclear what you define as “name it claim it”. The Bible discusses prospering after obedience. We obey because we love and follow Jesus.
Gd I think church hurt all of people also the prosperity preaching. God is awesome. The church or so call christian must stand up and active involve against the injustice. Race is one that every church on earth as we all in church no matter what colour race.
7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? 8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:
God wants to bless us. Money is esential. It's the love of money , making a God / idol out of it , that is wrong. Bible says money answers all things. Money buys food, clothes , pays rent , put gasoline in our cars , supports ministries , etc. Without it , some people go without necessities ; some live in poverty. By being prosperous, an individual can reach out to those in need , support charitable groups , buy Christian books ( Costi 's ) , etc. Money helps make life more enjoyable for ourselves , others , etc. Prosperity is a blessing from God. Deuteronomy 8:18 ( KJV ) .
yep and that way you build a church in which there is no place for men. Men will avoid going with their wives (if they can) to a boring talk from a priest that has probably never worked with his hands ever. They will (obviously with the promise of a BBQ and beers afterwards) spend a morning building a limestone garden bed for the church. Your God was a carpenter, this has a meaning
Matthew 19:21 Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
The entire Bible is filled with prosperity. Jews are punished then they prosper after, as we speak, the jewish nation is prosperous.(prosperity does not only refer to financial but also for the sake of the Lord Jesus.) well being, knowledge etc
Of course there is prosperity. Prosperity Gospel is something totally different. Prosperity gospel says you earn something by claiming it, manifesting it. Takes the focus off God. God's people can prosper - that's absolutely true but we are still to worship when we aren't prospering and we are to recognize every good and perfect gift comes from above. I am not prosperous because I purchased some water via a 800 number. I'm not sure you understand what the Word of Faith movement actually is.
The issue is not prospering. The issue is when prosperity is made into a golden calf, and that’s precisely what these false prosperity gospel teachers have done. They’ve perverted the word of God. Christ is not the reward for them, the reward is everything else, except Him. That’s the problem!
The Bible tells us to live as Jesus lived. I think a problem with a lot of modern-day Christians is that they cherry pick what they want to hear from the Bible and thus aren’t true to their religion and their faith. Living like Jesus isn’t just being kind, accepting, and forgiving to others. Jesus lived in poverty and he told anyone who wanted to follow him that they would have to rid themselves of any material possessions, luxuries, or riches. Jesus and his followers lived with nothing but the clothes on their back and Traveled on foot from city to city Spreading the word of God. They didn’t have a house and they didn’t have a food supply because they believed in the goodness of God and knew he would provide for them through the goodness of others. If we are to truly live like Jesus then we are to do the same. I am not encouraging you to be homeless, but live in a modest home without luxuries, just a bed, a washroom, and a kitchen table.
Th Gospel according to Karl Marx EACH ACCORDING TO HIS NEED. The gospel according to Charles Darwin HOW WE SUFFER FROM GOOD HEALTH. Religious Cult 101 : How do you know if you are in a religious cult ? Simple, YOU ARE ALWAYS BROKE !
Nothing, absolutely nothing is less Christian than conservative evangelicals and the prosperity gospel. The polar opposite. If you want to follow Jesus you have to give ALL you own to the poor and follow your Jesus. His words- not mine.
A problem with your dogmatic statement is, well, its sense of absolutism without various contexts at play. Christ said to the Rich Young Ruler to give all away and to follow Him, which the latter didn't. Did Jesus tell everyone else to do the same? If it were a requirement, then He would have stated it to ALL rich persons He encountered, which He did not. Also, when criticizing the storing up of earthly treasures where moth and rust destroy, He wasn't teaching to not enjoy our posssessions! It was a spiritual insight as to the Order of "Things", so to speak. Oftentimes, taking one verse as an Absolute Principal for One and All at All Times doesn't pan out in the totality of the Church and the Scriptures.
@@machtnichtsseimann The Bible speaks to the rich, “it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God". Because a lot of rich people store up their treasures, that’s how they get rich.

"Progressive Christianity"? AKA "The Apostate Church"

I know this is an insane long shot, but can we find out where Costi got his Spurgeon t shirt?
It’s a design from an apparel brand called righteous wretch. They have some other designs that are cool as well
The kingdom of God is at hand
All that happens is for a reason.

And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

In the book of John remeber the seven churches and do you remeber the church of laodicean, which would now be known as the worldly liberal church...
John did not ‘writher away on Patmos’. He was released from Patmos and lived past that period in a quieter life period.
I believe that you believe it, Donna. But can you name someone in the prosperity gospel world who is not associated with the hucksters?
I once made the error of critizing 'prosperity preachers' until i listened carefully to what some of them say in context , especially regarding the exchange on the cross according to the scriptures. Some a genuine some are out for profits.
Derek Prince and many others .
It’s unclear what you define as “name it claim it”.
The Bible discusses prospering after obedience. We obey because we love and follow Jesus.
@@way2go2 derek is clear on prosperity principles in the word of God.
Televangelists screaming don’t you go after the Lord’s anointed or you’ll get cancer is not just spiritual abuse, that’s witchcraft.
Gd I think church hurt all of people also the prosperity preaching. God is awesome. The church or so call christian must stand up and active involve against the injustice. Race is one that every church on earth as we all in church no matter what colour race.
I love costi because he don’t like skinny jeans
7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:
For con artists, religion is a great business.
Yes , He was a carpenter.
Working is vital.
Ephesians 4:28 KJV
Psalm 90:17 KJV
Matthew 19:21
Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
Sad story. He could not / would not let go of his money idol , an obvious stronghold in his life , and follow Jesus.
Costi looks a little like Justin Peters. Isn’t that super ironic!!!
What in the world is progressive Christianity lol
Paul brought a false gospel and Paul taught “Progressive Christianity.”
“Progressive” which also means: enlightened, modern, radical, tolerant, broad, wide, ect.
*1 Corinthians 9:20 And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law;*
*1 Corinthians 9:21 To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.*
(1 Cor 9:21 Ya all can't get much more tolerant and radical than to become without law)
*1 Corinthians 10:23 All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.*
(1 Cor 10:23 Ya just can't become any more broad and wide than claiming all things are lawful to me.)
*1 Corinthians 8:9 But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak.*
*1 Corinthians 8:10 For if any man see thee which hast knowledge sit at meat in the idol's temple, shall not the conscience of him which is weak be emboldened to eat those things which are offered to idols;*
*1 Corinthians 8:11 And through thy knowledge shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ died?*
(1 Cor 8:9-10 Ya can't be more enlightened than the weaker brother than to have a liberty to sit at meat in the idol's temple and eat those things which are offered to idols. Just don't do it in front of a weaker unenlightened brother who might take offense.)

Paul taught true Christianity. Not sure what your point is. Not sure what you are trying to say. Do you not believe in the inerrancy of scripture? Do you not believe that what Paul taught and wrote was actually truly Christ's teachings?
