In the lab purified normal water (hplc grade or ultra pure 16ohm water) kinda tastes sweet. So could the sweetness be because of the fact that your sample of heavy water is pure? Or because the purification in my lab involves distilation and I get a buildup of heavy water (which I doubt). The thing that I always thought happend is that pure water draws glucose from the cells and that triggers the sweet receptors again. I may be mistaken. I'll try some blind test of normal pure water and see what happens (it may be placebo for me too).
I was wondering if chemically pure water tastes sweet, but by the time it's been filtered through rocks, processed, had different chemicals added to it during the treatment phase, then lived in distribution pipes for a day or so, would the trace minerals in the water kill the naturally sweet taste of water?

A few questions: 1a) Does heavy water freeze and boil at the same temperature as tap water? 1b) Same question for distilled water. 2) If you had enough heavy water for a swimming pool, would you be more buoyant or less buoyant? 3) If you showered in heavy water, would it be unhealthy, more healthy, no difference? 4) Does heavy water evaporate at the same rate as tap water (and distilled water)?
1a) it freezes and boils at a bit warmer temperatures (a couple degrees) 1b) Depends on the tap water but distilled water freezes at the freezing point of water dude. 2) You would be more buoyant because the heavy water has more mass in the same area (more dense) but you’re still the same density so less dense relative which would make you float more. 3) it wouldn’t be more heathy that’s for sure, but It probably wouldn’t cause too much of a difference unless you were drinking it too. 4) It evaporated slower than distilled water and again depends on what tap. I have seen Royal Society lectures about how smell and taste receptors cannot be fully explained by the simplified chemical "key and lock" hypothesis. Experiments using fruit flies and deutirium have suggested that it is the vibration of molecules what activate the receptors, thus a change in mass can have a change in smell or taste.

The thing that I always thought happend is that pure water draws glucose from the cells and that triggers the sweet receptors again. I may be mistaken. I'll try some blind test of normal pure water and see what happens (it may be placebo for me too).

I was wondering if chemically pure water tastes sweet, but by the time it's been filtered through rocks, processed, had different chemicals added to it during the treatment phase, then lived in distribution pipes for a day or so, would the trace minerals in the water kill the naturally sweet taste of water?
I could be wrong, but I think glucose transport is active and not passive (GLUT transporters). Therefore, hypoosmotic solutions shouldn't draw it out of cells.

Since pure water has that whole 10^-7 [H+] equilibrium deal, perhaps there's a higher concentration of H+ ions in pure water then normal water?

Ali Ozan a stirling motor like this one has absolutely no use. It is decoration. But in large scale a sterling motor is a very effective combustion engine, but the power density is extremely low. That's the cause why they are very rare in use. In Germany we sometimes use them to generate electricity in combination with our methane gas heating system. But as i said, the power output is really low. Google it.

A few questions:
1a) Does heavy water freeze and boil at the same temperature as tap water?
1b) Same question for distilled water.
2) If you had enough heavy water for a swimming pool, would you be more buoyant or less buoyant?
3) If you showered in heavy water, would it be unhealthy, more healthy, no difference?
4) Does heavy water evaporate at the same rate as tap water (and distilled water)?
1a) it freezes and boils at a bit warmer temperatures (a couple degrees) 1b) Depends on the tap water but distilled water freezes at the freezing point of water dude. 2) You would be more buoyant because the heavy water has more mass in the same area (more dense) but you’re still the same density so less dense relative which would make you float more. 3) it wouldn’t be more heathy that’s for sure, but It probably wouldn’t cause too much of a difference unless you were drinking it too. 4) It evaporated slower than distilled water and again depends on what tap. I have seen Royal Society lectures about how smell and taste receptors cannot be fully explained by the simplified chemical "key and lock" hypothesis. Experiments using fruit flies and deutirium have suggested that it is the vibration of molecules what activate the receptors, thus a change in mass can have a change in smell or taste.
