I tried this today, in the dining room around certain chair that had ugly food stains, I only used 1/4 cup of dawn dish, I was afraid of having a lot of suds, It worked like magic, I should have taken pictures of before and after. Wish I had a picture! I put this in a Bissell carpet cleaner and it did wonders! It was funny had to fill that puppy up about 6 times. Been house sitting for a friend and I told her her house would look better than she left it. Now she can come home to a beautiful clean rug, carpet, organized laundry room and cupboards. She has a 4 year old son and her husband works alot so I'm glad I could do this for them.
Guess what? This combination also works perfectly for getting skunk smells off of your pet! Usually it takes one treatment, just let it sit for a few minutes then wash it off, if that doesn't do the trick the second treatment will! AMAZING!!

Hello wanted you to know we rented a house
I’m so OCD the light carpet had some spots so I got a Hoover carpet cleaner for 88$ at WM and didn’t use the cleaner that came with it but instead put in Hot water to water 💧 line
Then peroxide and 1(only 1 squirt ) of dawn dish soap and 1 table spoon of Baking soda
Shook it and put it in the cleaner and used it
It worked so well👍🏻
Do make sure you vacuum first
I too have recently gotten a carpet cleaner, to clean all the carpets. I used this same formula to get up tough spots. Saves on the back. Thank you for posting.

Nice video, well done. really, nothing should be left on/in the carpet. It can eventually rot the carpet fibres or even the backing of the carpets. It's like getting in the shower, foaming up, and getting out without rinsing. Same with carpets, whatever you put on/in might look great after, but it will only attract dirty quicker and can cause more harm than good. Hot water extraction is always the best.
Loved your video though. Just thought I'd give you a few tips! Hope you don't mind.

Makes total sense. I invested in a good carpet cleaner. We have pets and it's just easier to clean.
all that dish soap would take forever to extract. it would leave huge soap stain you would see next day.
Won’t the dawn (or any soap product) eventually collect dust and hang onto it?
Was thinking the same thing but I have a carpet spot cleaner and just used HOT but NOT BOILING, hot tap water with a half cup of fabric softener, any kind will do, I used what was sitting on the washer at the time. Mixed the fabric softener and hot water together in the spot removed and did a raise on it. The fabric softener helps keep the suds down. It raised up very well, after drying the next day I vacuumed and was amazed at how clean it was and also because I raised with fabric softener it smelled amazing too... Smelled like laundry after hanging outside in a spring breeze to dry... Or that fresh scent after a beautiful spring rain, just pure clean air with a beautifully cleaned carpet.
I'm going to make up a batch of this for my steam cleaner, instead of the recommended stuff that doesn't seem to work. Thanks for sharing.
I swear by hydrogen peroxide, I used this combination to clean pee stain of pets in my sofa set and it works like a charm

Hey do you think I could use this for my entire carpet? My entire room is filled with stains and just overall dirty and needs a nice deep clean?

I would use a carpet cleaner with water only afterwards. I used the same formula but the soap residue stayed and made my carpet stained easily from the soapy residue.
It lasted for quite awhile. We did eventually rip everything up to put down new flooring. But if you have a green machine that helps suck up the residue as well. Thank you for watching and the awesome advice.
Agree! Any cleaner should really be raised afterwards. Kind of like leaving shampoo residue in your hair, it attracts more dirt and sticks to it. Thanks for the video! Looking forward to trying this but I’ll be rinsing after with water until no sudds are seen (I have a small wet/dry bissel vacuum).
This is the exact same recipe to get skunk smell off of your pets. 100% removes the smell.

My carpet is a somewhat pink carpet, would this work on colored carpets as well?
I would do a test spot first, because the hydrogen peroxide could potentially discolor your rug. Maybe in a corner or a closet where the carpet is. If it doesn't change the color, you should be good. But definitely test a spot first.
Does it work for dark colored carpets? Mine is dark brown. I don't want its color to fade away due to peroxide in solution. Plz respond soon.

Amazing! I had a recipe from another TH-cam channel, which I ran out of, I have been unable to find it.
I spilled my blueberry smoothie on my tan tan carpet. Unfortunately my upright carpet cleaner isn’t working and my handheld carpet cleaner was dead. This purple horrible stain soaked in and dried in my carpet 🥲for two days. I saw the ingredients of your recipe, it reminded me of a secret ingredient from a long time ago regarding a blood stain. I learned hydrogen peroxide kills the protein, which releases the blood from staining. I thought what if it does the same thing in food protein. I put it directly on the stain. Just like blood it started bubbling, I waited about 5-7 minutes and started picking it with my hand held cleaner. Amazing, simply amazing it pulled every drop and then some out of my carpet. Thanks for sharing!

I'm wondering if the Dawn ends up drawing dirt back to the spot. I've read soap in caroet cleaning solutions guarantees you will need cleaning services again.
this does work, but id like to tell a little bit of my carpet cleaning history 😅 my son gets in to my wifes make up and just gets it all over lol, when i found it, if its fresh first thing i do, is i put 91-99% ISOPROPYL alcohol, then i add some dawn, for about 5-15 minutes i scrub very lightly, after i add some warm water not much!!!!! a damp towel works better! then after i get a dry towel and rub/scrub for 5 minutes, after i get the vaccum and dry it clean, if there is still some little spot, i break out the hydrogen peroxide and the iron! i have saved HUNDREDS from this method! 🎉

I hope it worked for you. Don't forget to blot the accident stain up up first, if it was a urine accident from your puppers. I would try Nature's Way Pet Spray on first and then do the hack.
Also remember pet (and human) stains require an enzyme(try Nature's Miracle). Leave it on until it stops being white & bubbling, even if it's hours! It's eating the stain material up! Then really if there is still a stain.

What does the carpet "feel" like aftr doing this? & Is it safe 4 pets 2 not remove the dawn from the carpet??
I've washed my pets with dawn before and they were fine. The carpet was fine for a long time after I had removed the stain. We recently put vinyl flooring in our home, so when we ripped up the carpet, everything was ok underneath.

I would try Nature's Spray Pet Urine Spray. I am not sponsored or anything, but I have two cats. One pees all the time when he is separated from his older sister, and I buy the stuff by the gallon, on amazon. Works great!

You could, and mix in a bucket for easier carrying. Hope this helps.
Half cup of baking soda ,half cup of dawn,cup of peroxide let it set for hours than vacuum

The problem is a sticky residue is left behind from the dish soap and it attracts dirt 10 times faster than before. It no doubt looked the same 3 weeks later

Try 1 cup rubbing alcohol
1 cup vinegar
and 1 cup water in spray bottle for walls.
Or magic sponge.

Hi. Ooo not sure. Depends on the size of the room. Maybe mixing in a bucket and using a hard bristle push broom.
Do you think it would work putting this solution in a carpet cleaner ?
I know some one who has same problem children has gotten everything in the floor and it has a smell I have been looking at everything for her to try it's a muck and a mess and she doesn't have the money to replace carpet ( Help )

Has anyone tried this on darker carpets? I don’t wanna accidentally lighten them.
I did it on the dark green carpet that was here when we first moved in and it was fine. But I recommend doing a test spot in an unseen area

Does this also work to remove stinky smells from a carpet?
It should.
Removing odor is one of the many benefits of using baking soda. If you’re looking to freshen up carpet and remove odors, sprinkle just baking soda all over and leave it for a few hours and then vacuum it 🆙 Works like a charm 😊

Dawn power wash and baking soda. Spray the dawn directly on spot. Rub in the baking soda water, plot up as best you can, let dry and vacuum

Isn’t hydrogenperoxide dangerous to touch, though? Like shouldn’t you use gloves for this?
Hydrogen Peroxide is most commonly used for cleaning bacteria out of wounds and off your skin . An alternative to rubbing alcohol, but a lot of people use hydrogen peroxide specifically for different wounds ( ex: like a packed wound that you need open ) because peroxide prevents you from forming any scabs
But I definitely wouldn’t consider it safe to put on your skin in large amounts or over alot of skin . Definitely wipes the slate clean , but that leaves anything open to bad bacteria too

I own a cleaning company so my fingers are pretty much stripped...lol. But yes it could leave white bleachy dots on your hands. So I do recommend gloves. I personally don't use them around my house though, but I do at clients houses.

Ok, this did not work. I used the same 1:1:2 ratio of ingredients, worked it into the carpet, and 1-1/2 hours later, I had a blue carpet. Knowing the blue was the dawn, I turned on the kettle, added hot water (similar to what the carpet cleaning guy mentioned earlier), squeegee’d out the suds, rubbed it down with a dry towel, then vacuumed suctioned out as much soap and water as I could. I repeated this process until no suds were forming after adding hot water. Have a fan on it to dry it the best I can. It Took a couple hours, but the blue stain is gone. Really hoping the dish soap is gone so it doesn’t attract more dirt. Salsa stain is 50% gone, but I Would not recommend this method; it’s obvious where I tried this. next time I would just try a spray on carpet cleaner that’s formulated for this use, add on a google ole fashioned hand scrub, and immediately follow with a vacuum. Repeat that process, or just hire a professional with a heat/water suction carpet cleaner.
