    That works great for synthetic rugs. If it had been wool - make sure you use a quality wool safe product. Also, keep rinsing until the suds are gone. Soap causes rapid resoling.

      Omg, this is fantastic! I have a large area rug 8x11 and I’ve been trying to find someone to clean it, for an estimate and I could only find ppl that come to clean indoor carpet, not area rugs. And I live in an apartment so I don’t have an area to clean it outside. But now, to save all that money.. I’m excited and ready to buy my own push broom! Thank you! This is common sense at its best!❤

      Merci!! I am moving again into my own apartment and I’ll be taking my old rugs with me, but they’ve been never cleaned before, not once I got them, and not since they’ve been stored away in the shed of my parents house. So, ever since I got addicted to rug cleaning video’s, and making my to do list for the apartment, rug cleaning has become one of my to do points. Except I had no clue how to do this myself, now I do! So thank you, good thing there’s sunny weather this week where I’m from. So the perfect time to clean rugs and move house once more. 🥰

    Why TH-cam isn't recommending this video first is beyond me. Thank you for the informative video!
    Tip: If you add apple cider vinegar after your first rinse, you can stop the soapsuds from over forming and it'll rinse out much easier :)
    Tip #2: If you have pets and they've made your rug smell, then you can probably get away with using some laundry detergent, the carpet cleaner she used in the video, or for max strength - Amazon's Commercial Enzyme Cleaner (Be sure to spray (not mist spray not good to breath in) the rug a day before taking it to the car wash, and just rinse it out).

    Thank you! Never though my to take it to the car wash. Tip for future cleaning I got from a professional: rinsing out 100% of the soap is extremely important or the dried soap acts as a wax that attracts and holds more dirt. I have done something similar on my deck and the rinse part takes forever so it is definitely good to not use too much soap. Thanks again!

  • @somebodyelse7499
    @somebodyelse7499 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great thank you very much! It’s summer time and where I live we have 100° plus perfect time to do my rugs. Just so you know you might want to try rinsing your carpet with vinegar this will help loosen any extra soap and will keep your carpet cleaner because residue will attract dirt. The vinegar smell will dissipate as it dries. I just found that on another video thought I’d share.

    Excellent video, but I would have hosed it down again after I hung it on the fence to remove more soap. Leaving soap in something will attract more dirt so it gets dirty faster. I have a 150-gallon LP tank outside, that I draped a rug over, and sprayed it down with my garden hose until no soap ran out. It takes a while to remove the soap.

      that’s aimed more at people who don’t use the full wash cycle products. But the owners would love to see more rug washing like this cos it fully uses all their products- rinse, wash, rinse - as long as you bring a vacuumed grit free rug so as not to clog their drains, they will appreciate the extra business. And go during the least busy time of day too, of course 😊.
