All depends how bad you want the improvements, we have the current body style Yukon (sister to the Tahoe) and absolutely love it. It gets great gas mileage for a full size SUV (19 mpg city/26mpg highway) and it has plenty of space for our family of 5. We did a road trip from Colorado to Washington state last summer and it was great. I'm sure the current Tahoe has some great pricing right now and it will probably get even better when the new models start hitting the lot. GM employee pricing did start this week and they're offering some low apr financing too.
TeddyJak Eddy Id wait till more specifications came out honestly. Everything these people besides interior numbers are speculations. The towing could be higher the gas mileage could be higher as well just a bunch of different things to see to come! Unless you really need it for a growing family or etc..
I always liked the Tahoe and suburban but a Durango in this same class because of its tow rating?? That’s like putting a ford Ranger up against a full size half ton. 🤦♂️

Nice redesign overall. But a Ford fanboy might notice that the 400/480 version of the 3.5 Ecoboost that is in the Expedition Limited was not shown in the graphic on the competitor's engines.
The i6 is the better design between the big 3 makers. Why ram did not go with a new i6 is beyond me.Copying Cummins should have been their goal to win the American people over, and produce the best in class small bore diesel. I sure V.M. Motori is listening ,if they truly care about being top dog in 1/2 ton trucks. Copy the Cummins as much as you can, without violating patents RAM.
@yoyo 19 I understand why you disagree. When I say to copy Cummins I did not give all of the many reasons why. Because, most who are familiar with the Cummins i6 know that Cummins has an award program. They give awards to those who hit 500k miles, 1 Million miles and then 1.5 Million, and many many people have received such awards . The Cummins i6s durability and longevity will not be touched by the 3 that are being used, without many service visits to the dealer. The Cummins is simply a better design and built to last. Recently Cummins rolled off the assembly line, their 3 millionth engine to go in a Ram.
@yoyo 19 As far as ecoboost engines. They do impress for a gas engine. My brothers expedition had one. It Is a great option for those wanting to stay with a gas engine and pull lighter loads. But, for what I intend to use my 2020 Ram Rebel EcoDiesel for, which will have the 33 gallon tank is, pull a small travel trailer to my camping spot and then do some over landing. The claimed 1200 mile range from the rebel could never be achieved with the ecoboost. I get with Gale Banks, and now my EcoDiesel will produce more power and torque. It gets even better mileage and is still under Warranty. We will all use them, and have different plans for using them, so your ecoboost might be the best option for you at this time in your life. Stay safe!
So excited that I can a Tahoe with a diesel I want to tow a travel trailer and now I don’t have to buy a pickup. That line 6 diesel is class leading in terms of fuel economy so I expect the Tahoe/suburban to be class leading here too.
@Bee Zo you can blame the exterior plastics on pedestrian safety standards, that's why nobody makes real bumpers anymore. As for dependability I've been buying my wife GM SUVs for decades and have yet to replace/repair anything significant and the minor stuff has been under warranty. Her current vehicle (2015 Yukon that we bought brand new) has only needed a $15 sensor on the rear suspension that was covered by the warranty.
Dodge needs to upgrade their suv game, the journey has basically been the same for years and so has the Durango and they have no competitor to the Tahoe or suburban
I can’t get over how they removed the column shifter. It’s such a stupid thing to do. Why do companies got to remove tradition? No more suvs have them now!
@42Luke roblox, I agree with 42Luke, push button gears will cost more to service when something goes wrong, and whose to say, while (Drive gear) is engaged, the reverse button is accidentally pushed, can you imagine what the repair cost will be for a 10 speed transmission! I think I will keep my 2015, 5.3 V8, 6 speed transmission Silverado, it still gets the job done, going into 2020!
Finally back to the flat floor in cargo bay and fold up seats like in my 2002. I never understood why they screwed up the seats and floors in these vehicles. Now I can buy a new one, if they guarantee the paint to stay on it.
I'm with you, and had the same thought!! In the model years following 2006, I have just shaken my head in disbelief. I still have my '02 which I bought new, and 350,000 miles later, it still is the best rig I have for my dogs because of the perfectly flat load floor with the seats folded down. Almost bought a 2016, but I couldn't get over the fact that the folded seats still give an inclined floor with big gaps between the seats themselves side-to-side and also between the load floor and the front seat backs.
With the seats folded down? You still had to completely remove the 3rd row in the 00-06 to get a flat floor. Then they complete screwed that up with the 07-14. They tried to fix that with the 15+ by raising the floor, but that was still a mess and took away cargo space.
Basically this New generation is a Silverado SUV and a Silverado SUV shorten. I don't see any innovation. The SUVs of GM should be independent to Silverado. But no, they use the same formula since always. Ford at least made the last Expeditions independent from F150.
personator907 yea me too, the last generation was ok... nothing special! It looked very outdated for its time and was in need of a refresh, instead of that it got a new generation, which was a better option and this new one looks red hot awesome!!
'Our' Steve has always done a good job on the facts, features and figures of a vehicle he's showing us. This video is no exception. The Chevrolet Suburban is certainly a 'step up' in every sense of the word(s) It's still my 'dream machine' . One thing though, with those new L.E.D. headlights, are they still going to dazzle and blind the on-coming driver, AND will they pass the IIHS vehicle headlight test's?

So how does Chevy figure the Z-71 package is new to the line up of SUV's. The Tahoes and Suburbans have the Z-71 package since the 90's
Dude. Thanks for this awesome video.
Only starting for great low price of $99,000
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Lol when you are barely starting the video and don't know if this comment is sarcasm or actually true haahahha
$99,999.95
Or $150,095 Canadian lmao 😂
Aighte Ima head out.
Most people don't want extra options they just want a barebones truck with a good suspension styling and powertrain for a decent price
I always liked the Tahoe and suburban but a Durango in this same class because of its tow rating?? That’s like putting a ford Ranger up against a full size half ton. 🤦♂️
Wow this new version is way more better looking than the current version, I was kinda looking to change my caravan to a durango next year now I really consider the new tahoe....
Just wow
Will that interior find its way in to the pickup soon?
TheHondaman not until a facelift at least.
Yes something similar for 2021 model year aka Fall 2020.
Nice redesign overall. But a Ford fanboy might notice that the 400/480 version of the 3.5 Ecoboost that is in the Expedition Limited was not shown in the graphic on the competitor's engines.
Lmao at all the Ford n Chevy folks that beat on Dodge and Ram for going with the shift knob years ago......how you like dem push buttons
The Z71 trim was available for years in the Middle East glad y’all will finally get to enjoy that trim😉👍
i6 Diesel is the BEST in class.
Stay safe!
@yoyo19 there is another reason for diesels that you're forgetting which is fuel economy
Honestly I dig it, I think it's the best looking Tahoe/Suburban in a while. Great video!
So excited that I can a Tahoe with a diesel I want to tow a travel trailer and now I don’t have to buy a pickup. That line 6 diesel is class leading in terms of fuel economy so I expect the Tahoe/suburban to be class leading here too.
Yes all of this sounds great, but does it come with a mechanic?
Is Mr. Goodwrench still on the job?
@Bee Zo you can blame the exterior plastics on pedestrian safety standards, that's why nobody makes real bumpers anymore. As for dependability I've been buying my wife GM SUVs for decades and have yet to replace/repair anything significant and the minor stuff has been under warranty. Her current vehicle (2015 Yukon that we bought brand new) has only needed a $15 sensor on the rear suspension that was covered by the warranty.
With GM your going to need an electrician, too many gremlins to deal with after a couple years
@@OneNationUnderGod. I've owned a tahoe for 9 and love it people don't understand
@@dontadeshun keep it for 12+ and they just systematically fail.
well Ford HAS to bring back the Excusion now! but please Ford if you do pleeeeeease put in something a bit more exciting then a V6
GTFORDMAN we need a v8
@@frankieortiz6342 drop in the new 7.3ltr V8 into the flagship model!
7.3!!!!!
6.7 powerstroke please. Just make it an f250 in giant SUV form.
The expedition is bigger than the outgoing suburban
Dodge needs to upgrade their suv game, the journey has basically been the same for years and so has the Durango and they have no competitor to the Tahoe or suburban
I’ll stick with my “slightly refreshed”TRD Sequoia.
Probably a good choice given Chevy reliability.
But GM has the highest quality if you consider made up awards!
sequoia is as ancient as my grandma
I would. Save money and visit the shop a lot less
Nice job GM! My only quip is why doesn't the Tahoe have auto running boards like what Ford does with the Expedition? Otherwise nice job.
Wow that storage space is almost as high as my Excursion.
Love excursions
I can’t get over how they removed the column shifter. It’s such a stupid thing to do. Why do companies got to remove tradition? No more suvs have them now!
@42Luke roblox, I agree with 42Luke, push button gears will cost more to service when something goes wrong, and whose to say, while (Drive gear) is engaged, the reverse button is accidentally pushed, can you imagine what the repair cost will be for a 10 speed transmission! I think I will keep my 2015, 5.3 V8, 6 speed transmission Silverado, it still gets the job done, going into 2020!
Does anyone remember when the big 6.6 only mad 300 hp and 500 lbft of torque. Crazy to think they are getting those numbers and 30mpg
Ram should release a new Ram Charger Limited to compete better.
I like the look of these. I never thought the last gen looked very good.
personator907 yea me too, the last generation was ok... nothing special! It looked very outdated for its time and was in need of a refresh, instead of that it got a new generation, which was a better option and this new one looks red hot awesome!!
I love the truck so far what I don't like is the push button reverse, drive and neutral buttons just stay with the standard.
They will absolutely pass all legal tests and meet the standards and requirements for glare.
@@DrewB183 I'd like to know that for a fact, Drew, are those IIHS test's out now?
@@regsparkes6507 Not sure how those tests are released but I would expect them to follow the standard process.
Reg Sparkes seeing as they’re the same headlight setup as the new Silverado I’d imagine it’s the same test results as well.
Always done a good job on the facts? On the last video he was like first time offering a z71 in a Tahoe or suburban when they have offered that in the past for a good many years the rest he is just reading off a statistics sheet.
It’s about Damn Time!!! Chevy has finally replaced the rear live axle with an independent rear axle! SWEET!!...and they’ve brought back the Z71 for the Tahoe!? I’m in love all over again ☺️. Great video, as always, by TFL. You cats are really on your game. I hope Chevy adds some of that interior trim from the SUV’s, into the Pickups, for 2020. Wouldn’t that be nice? Thanks again, TFL.
Love that it’s Built in Texas!
BUT< you didn't pull the seats all the way back when you pulled the up. They were still up against the front seats, not back to where they were before.
OMG! Gotta get one , love what I’m seeing!
It's about time GM offered the 6.2 as an optional engine throughout the line up. I'm not a fan of the design looks but I do like the large interior capacity. It would be nice to have a 10-12lb tow capacity tow vehicle, I doubt any manufacture is there yet.
Finally Chevy makes an awesome car I was going to get my wife a ford but she said she wants this in the high country.
Escalade...
jAKE b - YOU'RE KIDDING RIGHT? CHEVY MAKES AN "AWESOME CAR"?? i DON'T SEE IT AND NEVER WILL
RockandRoll dang! Stop drinking haterade so much😂
I like it. Looks like GM did a good job here.
I don't understand that random chrome strip on the back... but overall it looks better than current generation.
Nice job Chevy!! I am a fan of the z71 Tahoe for sure! I will be buying one as soon as they hit the showroom floor!
Looks like a ford suv really ..
You have no vision like Chevrolet
make America great again wow😂😂 it’s okay ford is losing in the segment again.
I love it. But now i see potential for bringing back rear steering for better parking and trailer backing For the people who cant use just the mirrors
Push button transmission, why?, why companies keep thinking that looks good or it's what people want? That's the only thing I dont like about the new Tahoe .
Joy stick, rotor and push button gear selectors all suck.......
The column shifter was a chevy trademark. I would’ve kept it.
I don't think it's a smart idea put the last rear seats on a Tahoe. I mean, that SUV should have only front an rear seats as the old ones.
Just fold them down and leave them.
Nice! but will there be a 3/4 ton with a 6.6 duramax ?
Frank Fagundes : No... it’s just a 3.0L diesel mated with their 10-speed automatic transmission.
They haven't been making a Suburban 2500 these days. Much less one with a Duramax.
I know they should bring it back
High Country is New for SUVS but basically they're Silverados SUVs like back on 90s.
Wow good job GM
