Over the years, My wife and I drove to Hua Hin from Isaan several times, never forget the convoy of Royal Household coaches and baggage trucks on their way back to BKK, although the sight of Thai Army snipers "hiding" behind billboards always raised a giggle! Loved the visits to Rama V's old summer palace, Thai teak architecture at its finest!

The beaches inside Hua Hin are a photographers dream with rocky outcroppings and sandy inlets . There are some fine tucked away restaurants on the side streets for an American breakfast . The drive up to Cha am reminds me of photos of California beach towns in the 1950's . Destroying quaintness for sterile modern progress is nothing to cheer about . Go see Hua Hin before its too late .

The issue with bars being closed in a discriminatory fashion is more about moral finger-wagging by the teetotaing out-of-touch Thai government (who want to “clean up” Thailand) than precautions. No more people hang out or “linger” in bars than markets, construction sites, prisons, shopping malls, bus stations, etc. They could re-open with the same regulatory protocols placed on other places, but instead they’ve been singled out.

Don’t agree with the Hua Hin and Pattaya comparison. Few go to Hia Hin to partake in the ladies and none specifically to see the bar area behind the Hilton. However the opposite is true about Pattaya. Many of the visitors go there specifically to partake in the ladies and just as many go specifically to see Walking Street. Get rid of it and you will see many Indians stop visiting and you can forget about the Chinese. As to the 120 day plan, if it goes through you can forget about the sandbox. I’d rather wait till October in that case.

Imp. Question: Tim & Bill important point is that Thailand should not depend on just one model so called Sandbox model. It should create multiple back ups and other models with different rules. Weigh in the best and use them in october to start the country. What if the only 1 model i.e phuket sandbox fails? it would be disastrous.

They are taking their standard quarantine procedure and changing one important variable, whether you are confined to your room, and applying this to vaccinated travelers and they are doing it on an island. That is a pretty good test and is complicated enough. After a trial period they can relax other restrictions. By the time they learn anything from this the vaccination program will, hopefully, be well underway.

Aviation is not alright, far from it! A lot of aircraft are laid up as are a lot of staff. All the flight crew need to do simulator time to keep their compentancy as a lot have not been flying..... Same with the aircraft laid up all around the world, they all need full checks to get them back up to speed. Those that are likely to fly again have been run up and the systems checked to keep them reasonably airworthy but as the passengers won't suddenly return worldwide on mass so there is time to get things moving at a steady pace. No point in having 100 aircraft ready to fly and only work for 50 of them!

If is done correctly, the elephant benefits as it keeps the nails worn. Of course no structures ever on the back and so only bareback riding. Also do not visit the places where the elephants perform tricks like painting etc or playing sports, these places are well known for cruelty in training them. These places are terrible

Which HuaHin have I been to this weekend. Having a drink on Takiap temple rock completely solo for many hours overlooking a nearly empty beach all the way to the Hilton, i was wondering if i am the only tourist from bkk this weekend. 95% of bars, hostels, restaurants are either for rent/sale or abandoned. The night market was still going on but in a severely shrunk version and all side streets were dark, all bars and restaurants closed. Only a few massage shops are open. So how can you say Huahin is thriving. At least as a tourist town it is devastated. I understand offcourse properties are renting out quickly because prices are so low. But since they all have a kitchen this would not re-erect the life in huhan as it was before. One other thing, it is right at the train station is still there but the setting is disastrous with the huge ugly concrete pilots just right behind it.

So is the DEATHS going down because of the vaccines or mutations ????NO DATA CAN PROOF EITHER WAY... why vaccinate someone who as already had covid if you can get covid even when your been vaccinated... and its not to stop them from being hospitalised because when they had the original version not a water 💦 down vaccine they was not even hospitalised then.....
